Abstract

In an increasingly competitive educational landscape, institutions are leveraging technology and social media to enhance their public image, build trust, and establish strong branding. This qualitative study explores the strategic role of the principal in managing public relations (PR) to shape a positive institutional image at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Yasini. Through observations and interviews with the principal and PR team, the research underscores the centrality of the principal’s leadership in directing and evaluating PR performance. The study adopts the Four-Step PR Model—Problem Defining, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation—as an analytical framework. Findings reveal that the principal’s strategy is effectively realized through flagship programs such as the Genius Class and scholarship initiatives, as well as the formation of a specialized PR IT Team. These efforts led to a notable increase in student enrollment, reflecting improved institutional visibility and reputation. However, challenges persist in the form of inconsistent content posting, subpar visual presentation, and limited creativity in digital communication. The study concludes that while strategic leadership is a critical enabler of successful PR, there is a pressing need to enhance the technical and creative capacities of the PR team to fully leverage digital platforms and sustain institutional growth.

Abstract

Education must adapt to technological developments in order to maximize both the challenges and benefits that arise. The integration of digital technology in classroom learning has become one of the important innovations in contemporary learning. This article describes research and development of Android-based fiqh learning media designed to improve the learning outcomes of 10th grade students in Islamic high schools. This study used an R&D method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages from analysis to evaluation. The resulting product is an Android application called Baitullah, which focuses on Hajj and Umrah material. This product was declared highly feasible by three validators, with a percentage of 95% from subject matter experts, 96% from media experts, and 97% from learning practitioners. The responses of 20 students regarding the attractiveness of the product reached a percentage of 87% in the very attractive category. The N-Gain value was recorded at 0.59, indicating sufficient effectiveness. The t-test also yielded a p-value < 0,001, thus rejecting H0 and accepting Ha. It can be concluded from the analysis that there was a significant increase in learning outcomes after using the product, indicating that the Android-based fiqh learning media is effective for learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore teachers' communication skills in interactive multimedia-based learning and its impact on students' affective responses on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) materials, particularly the Story of the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. This research was conducted at SDN 05 Merjosari Malang City and SDN Cawang 09 Jakarta, which have started using technology, especially Lectora interactive multimedia software. Using a mixed approach with qualitative dominance, the study combined observations, interviews and questionnaires to measure students' perceptions of teacher credibility and their affective responses. The results showed that the use of Lectora improved teachers' communication from one-way with printed media to more interactive and multimodal. This improvement strengthens teacher credibility, especially in terms of expertise and concern for students. Students' affective responses, such as interest, motivation and emotional engagement, improved significantly, with a 23.4% increase compared to print media. Students' cognitive completion also improved, with 75% of students achieving the Minimum Completion Criteria (MCC), compared to 14.3% in the pre-cycle. This research shows that technology-based learning, particularly interactive media such as Lectora, can improve the quality of learning communication and students' emotional engagement, which supports better understanding of the material. These results provide practical guidance for teachers and educational institutions in designing more effective and meaningful learning.

Abstract

Kualitas sebuah lembaga pendidikan merupakan hal pertama yang dipertimbangkan oleh para orang tua untuk memberikan pendidikan kepada anak-anaknya. Tidak dipungkiri bahwa kita semua meyakini bahwa semakin tinggi kualitas sekolah maka semakin baik pula mutu pendidikannya. Suatu lembaga pendidikan dalam hal ini adalah sekolah, tidak dapat memperoleh kualitas secara instan, perlu waktu yang lama dan usaha yang keras serta kerjasama yang baik seluruh stakeholder pendidikan. Orang yang bertanggung jawab atas mutu pendidikan sebuah sekolah adalah kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini mencoba mengulas bagaimana strategi dan taktik khusus kepala sekolah MI Miftahul Ulum Kota Batu dalam mempertahankan mutu pendidikannya. Dengan metode kualitatif penelitian ini ditulis berdasarkan data-data yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumen-dokumen yang berkaitan. Data tersebut kemudian diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik Miles dan Hubberman yaitu dengan mereduksi data, menyajikan, dan menarik sebuah kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah MI Miftahul Ulum Kota Batu memiliki strategi dalam mempertahankan mutu sekolah, diantaranya; 1) Mengadopsi tipe kepemimpinan Nabi Muhammad SAW, 2) Tujuan berorientasi pada visi dan misi sekolah, 3) Brenchmarking sekolah unggulan, 4) Optimalisasi sistem penjaminan mutu internal sekolah, dan 5) Membangun brand image melalui media sosial. Peneliti berharap hasil dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi kepala sekolah lain dalam meningkatkan atau mempertahankan mutu pendidikan di sekolah yang dipimpinnya.
