This paper analyzes the transformation of public participation in the election of regional heads in DKI Jakarta in 2017. In the 2017 Jakarta Regional Head Election, the people participation is very high, one of which is seen from various actions during the election period. The formerly passive society suddenly became participatory. The people of DKI Jakarta, known as apathetic, become very concerned. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with a review of participation theory. The hypothesis of this study that the change of society from passive and apathetic tendency to political contestation become active and participative society because a very crucial factor is the existence of actors who "attract".

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has caused social and political restrictions on activities, has pushed people to shift their communication virtually. On the other hand, the tendency to interact via social media is increasing. Therefore, this paper discusses more about social media as communication facilities in times of pandemic. Using the Digital Naturals concept and the uses and gratification theory, communication via social media is dominant during the Covid-19 pandemic. Social media became one of the channels to fulfill the communication needs of the society during the pandemic. Fulfilling this need then becomes a differentiator for the community to choose of social media.

This study will discuss the voting behavior of the Betawi Rempug Forum in the 2019 Indonesian Presidential Election. Studies on voter behavior will never stop as long as Indonesia still adheres to a democratic system, as has happened in the Betawi Rempug Forum (FBR) community organization. FBR is a Betawi community organization which in the presidential election changed its political support for Pak Joko Widodo, while during the 2017 DKI Jakarta governor election, they supported the candidate pair for Governor Anies-Sandi. This is what makes a lot of polemics in the community, even every head of the winning team has an argument with each other regarding this. Therefore, it is important to look at the voting behavior of the Betawi Rembug Forum (FBR) in the 2019 Presidential Election. By using the theory of voter behavior and combining it with qualitative research methods with the type of case study research, it is hoped that this study can be a separate contribution. for the study of social science and political science in Indonesia.

Konsep Good Governance kini telah hangat diusung oleh pemerintah demi terciptanya perbaikan pemerintahan. Untuk mewujudkan cita-cita good governance, pemerintah saat ini telah mencoba menjalankan sistem aplikasi pajak e-SPT PPN. Namun implementasinya, aplikasi tersebut belum dapat dikatakan maksimal, perlu adanya perbaikan-perbaikan agar sistem aplikasi tersebut benar-benar dapat dikatakan sebagai elemen untuk menuju kepada prinsip-prinsip Good Governance sesungguhnya.

This paper reviews the results of research that examines the relevance of the concepts and practices of budget transparency and the concepts and practices of good and clean government. This paper re-analyzes the data on general perceptions of budget transparency in the Batang Regency Government in 2012-2017 with existing general data in 2022. The results of the re-analysis show that general perceptions are more or less the same between pre-2017 and post-2017 can be reviewed by there is an explanation of the leadership context, implementation context, and strategic context.

This program focuses on designing a Governance-based Digital Village model. Digital Village is designed as a starting point for building social resilience, economic resilience and ecological/environmental resilience (Building Village Index). The difference between the design of this Digital Village and existing best practices is that this program makes media, websites and applications more as instruments, while the substance to be emphasized is on government literacy, especially in fulfilling digitalization on transparency, accountability and participation in Government and Village Communities.

Women's representation in politics was echoed since July 7, 1954, by the United Nations Convention on Women's Political Rights. In Indonesia, the birth of Law No. 68 of 1958 established the State Ministry for Women's Affairs in 1978 and ratified the Convention on Women's Political Rights to function to improve women's finances, health, and welfare education. However, it was only in 2003 that the government included a minimum of 30% representation of women in the registration of legislative candidates in Law no. 12 of 2003. Various supports, government regulations, and intense campaigns by feminist activists have not directly had an impact on the existence of women in politics and other fields. The birth of Patriarchal Culture in ordinary society towards both men and women has an impact on the social and political aspects of society and contributes to the achievement of gender equality. This is the background for the author to analyze the impact of patriarchal culture on the role of women in politics. This article uses a literature review approach by collecting several reading sources, both scientific journals and books, and laws. Based on the results of the analysis, there are several impacts from the development of patriarchal culture in society, namely: (1) Marginalization, (2) Subordination, (3) Stereotypes, and (4) Violence. Women who are required to take care of the house, children, and family influence the parenting style of girls. Thus, affecting the representation of women in national political contestation in parliament.

This paper's focus on border governance is motivated by three main points. First, the study of border governance is predominantly dominated by institution-based and policy-based studies. Second, empirically, no research addresses the management of border communities within the Cross Border Post area. Third, theoretically, border governance studies need to revisit the phenomenon of the Custom, Immigration, Quarantine, and Security (CIQS) regime in border governance. This paper raises the question of how the dynamics and survival of border communities reflect border governance, using the MSME model in the Aruk Tourism Market as a case study. This paper argues that border governance in the Aruk region demonstrates practices influenced by the Immigration and Quarantine Security phenomenon following the CIQS regime.gb777

This study analyzes the formation of the Red and White Cabinet under President Prabowo Subianto through the lens of the Narrative Policy Framework (NPF). It examines whether the cabinet expansion was driven by technocratic considerations or political representation. This research provides insights into Indonesia’s governance structure and policymaking dynamics by exploring the narratives shaping ministerial appointments. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing the NPF to analyze policy narratives that influenced the expansion of ministries. Data collection involves document analysis of relevant laws, regulations, academic literature, and credible media reports. This approach systematically examines how political narratives shape institutional decisions and governance strategies. The findings reveal that the expansion of the Red and White Cabinet was primarily influenced by political coalition-building rather than administrative efficiency. Key narratives, such as governance effectiveness, political stability, and national unity, were strategically constructed to justify the increased number of ministries. While some appointments reflect technocratic expertise, many were dictated by political negotiations, highlighting the predominance of partisan interests over governance optimization. This study concludes that policy narratives legitimize political decisions, often surpassing technocratic considerations. The findings contribute to the understanding of political decision-making in Indonesia by demonstrating how institutional constraints, elite bargaining, and strategic policy narratives shape governance structures.

This paper delves into Finland's potential accession to NATO, marking a significant departure from its longstanding policy of military non-alignment. As geopolitical dynamics in the Baltic region undergo profound changes, Finland's consideration of NATO membership carries far-reaching implications for regional security and global geopolitics. Finland responded to Russian aggressiveness by joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to counteract Russia’s security threats in the region. The abstract explores the historical context of Finland's neutrality, the evolving security landscape, and the factors driving the nation towards reevaluating its defense posture. Using the research method of critical content analysis and in-depth interview with military and defense and security analyst Rahakundini, the potential impact on NATO, Russia's response, and the broader implications for the delicate balance of power in Northern Europe. The proposed NATO membership signals a strategic recalibration for Finland, with ramifications extending beyond national borders, shaping the geopolitical narrative in an ever-evolving international arena.
