Abstract

Cerebral palsy is caused by brain damage that manifests as motor dysfunction. The most prevalent form of cerebral palsy is spastic diplegia, which causes walking difficulties. People with cerebral palsy, particularly children, require mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, to perform daily tasks. When designing wheelchairs for children with cerebral palsy, ergonomic evaluation is required to ensure that the resulting wheelchair is safe and will not pose a risk in the future. This paper investigates the use of digital human modeling to evaluate the ergonomics of wheelchairs for children with cerebral palsy. The method is used to collect samples from 5 to 18-year-old children with cerebral palsy. Digital human modeling is used to simulate and evaluate ergonomics using anthropometric data. The results obtained for the wheelchair dimensions are suitable for the 95th percentile value, while the seat length exceeds the popliteal length for the 50th percentile value. The ergonomic evaluation yielded satisfactory results for the lower back analysis parameter, and the comfort evaluation yielded satisfactory results for the 95th percentile value. In contrast, the 5th percentile value indicates knee discomfort in both the right and left knee.

Abstract

The need for clean water in household life is very important because humans cannot live without it. The composition of seawater consists of 96.5% pure water and 3.5% other materials, namely salts, dissolved gases, and others. Indonesia is one of the countries that has the second-longest coastline in the world, so the potential for utilizing sea water is very large, one of which can be through the desalination process. Distillation itself is distillation, and its by-product is salt when seawater is heated using a heat energy source with a concentrated solar power (CSP) system. Based on research that has been done previously, the tool is a lab-scale seawater desalination device, but the process of making a lab-scale seawater desalination tool is not optimal. Then design the construction of a lab-scale seawater desalination device with the Multi Stage Flash (MSF) type, and the aim is to determine the performance and functionality of the MSF-type lab-scale seawater desalination device. The results show that the results of the coil heat exchanger development obtained an inlet temperature of 85.9°C and an outlet temperature of 67.8°C, and the room temperature in the chamber can be maintained at a temperature of 68.9°C. As for the components being developed, such as sea water pumps, hoses, tees, and sprayers, a sea water debit of 53.78 liters per hour has been obtained.

Abstract

In materials technology, natural fibers can be employed as reinforcing materials to create materials that are lightweight, strong, environmentally friendly, and inexpensive. Bamboo is sturdy, light in weight, and simple to work with. The hull of a ship is the most critical component, and it needs to be made of material that is both strong and light. The hand-lay-up method is employed throughout the composite sheet invoice process. Reinforcing fiber content in composite material sheets varies by 4%, 5%, and 6% between the two types of fibers used: glass fiber and bamboo fiber. ISO 14125 Bending Test and ISO 527-4 Tensile Test According to the results of tensile testing on andong bamboo fiber, code A, which consists of 4% fiber and 96% matrix, has a significant strength value, and code C, which consists of 6% glass fiber and 94% matrix, has a significant strength value. According to the results of the bending test for bamboo fiber, code A, which consists of 4% fiber and 96% matrix, has a significant strength value. According to the results of research on the type of glass fiber, code C, which consists of 6% glass fiber and 94% matrix, has a significant strength value.
