Abstract

Mobility has become a crucial factor in transportation management, especially in the tourism sector. It is a key indicator of the performance of transportation infrastructure and people's response to it. To evaluate mobility in tourist areas, there is a need for tools to represent its value. In this study, the concept of an index as a measure of performance is applied, gathering information into a simpler and more mutually agreeable form. The cultural heritage sites of Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko are chosen as an ideal study location due to their popularity internationally. Given the limitations of previous research on mobility indexes in tourist areas, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Index (I_SUM) framework is used to develop the variables. To avoid bias, this study utilizes expert opinion methods to assess necessary and unnecessary variables in achieving the index. Eight individuals with expertise and experience in transportation and tourism are selected as respondents. Furthermore, the expert evaluation results are processed using the Content Validity Index (CVI). The outcome is 26 variables that meet the validation test out of a total of 32 previous variables, which are divided into five domains, covering accessibility, social aspects, transportation infrastructure, traffic cycle, and transportation systems.

Abstract

This research develops and tests an innovative tool called ASLA (Automated Signal Light Brightness Adjustment) designed to automatically adjust the brightness of train signal lights based on environmental conditions such as light intensity, rain, and fog. The main purpose of this tool is to reduce the waste of electrical energy caused by using lights with constant brightness intensity all the time. An experimental method is used in this research, where tests are conducted by measuring important variables such as light intensity, current, voltage, and LED brightness. It uses sensor fusion techniques to combine data from various sensors, such as LDRs, rain sensors, and gas sensors, to obtain accurate environmental information. The test results showed that the ASLA tool successfully reduced power consumption from 2.37W to 2.24W, contributing to electricity savings. In addition, the variation of LED power decreased to less than 0.2W under certain weather conditions. This research proves that ASLA functions optimally by increasing the efficiency of electrical energy use in train signal lights.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the influence of digital communication, work facilities, and coordination on job satisfaction and work performance among Police and Non-Police workers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. A mixed methods approach was used, incorporating a convergent parallel design where both quantitative and qualitative data were gathered simultaneously. Quantitative data from surveys provided insights into the effects of digital communication, work facilities, and coordination on job satisfaction and performance. Qualitative data from interviews and observations offered a deeper understanding of individuals' experiences and perceptions. The study included 333 participants from various sectors, including Police, Military, Immigration, Customs, Avsec, and Airport Authorities. The results indicated that the quality of work facilities, coordination, and digital communication positively impacted work performance, leading to increased job satisfaction. Additionally, the findings revealed significant differences in perceptions of work effectiveness, coordination quality, work facilities, digital communication, and job satisfaction between Police and Non-Police personnel. This comprehensive approach enhanced the accuracy and reliability of the research, providing practical insights for improving job satisfaction and work efficiency at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. This study incorporates Job Satisfaction Variables derived from Luthans (2015), Work Facilities Variables from Astono (2021), Digital Communication Variables from Ku & Chen (2016), Coordination Variables from Abdurrahman (2013), and Work Effectiveness Variables from Steers (2015).

Abstract

Toll roads can play a vital role in supporting mobility, logistics, and regional economic growth. However, issues such as congestion, declining road quality, and limited real-time information systems often hinder service performance. This study aims to update the Toll Road Service Quality (TRSQ) model by integrating artificial intelligence (AI)-based technological innovations as a mediating variable to enhance excellent toll road services. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 480 users of the Pemalang–Batang Toll Road via a questionnaire survey. Data analysis employed SmartPLS to test causal relationships among TRSQ variables, which include information, accessibility, reliability, mobility, safety and security, rest areas, and responsiveness. Results show that all TRSQ variables significantly influence service excellence, both directly and through technology as a mediator. Priority indicators identified include toll gate queue length, availability of road markings and information boards, traffic flow, real-time traffic updates, and service comfort. The study highlights the urgency of applying AI-based intelligent transportation systems—such as innovative CCTV, remote sensors, and automated information management—to optimise toll road performance, improve user satisfaction, and strengthen sustainable transport services. Keywords: artificial intelligence, smartpls, technological innovation, toll road service, TRSQ model, user satisfaction
