Abstract

The concept of justice will continue to develop in line with social developments. Justice in life is an important need for humans so that everyone can balance between demanding their rights and carrying out their obligations in an effort to achieve the truth. Thus, truth and duty must be harmonious and balanced in life. The development of legal thought has gone through a long journey from classical to modern times. The number of understandings that developed starting in the 20th century had an impact on increasingly rational legal learning. The law is just a collection of words when the law does not achieve justice. When the law does not recognize justice, then the law is meaningless. Legal formulation is the harmony between legal certainty and legal proportionality.

Abstract

One measure of the success of Islamic banking can be achieved if the bank has a large number of customers. The number of customers is certainly based on good service quality. Based on this, the purpose of this study was to analyze the innovations that were built in improving service quality at the Mandailing Natal branch of Indonesian Sharia Bank. This study uses field research methods that are oriented towards in-depth interviews directly at the research location. The results obtained are that the bank always prioritizes good moral ethics towards customers, trains communication skills, complete attributes, and evaluates customers on employees in a consistent manner. Customer service must have expertise in the field of communication, which must be taken into account because each customer has different characteristics, so clear and directed communication is needed so that misunderstandings do not arise. Identification marks are always shown so that customers recognize the employee. If at any time the service provided to the customer is less than positive, the customer can report the customer service employee to evaluate his performance by simply stating the name of the employee himself and a thorough evaluation of the employee's performance.

Abstract

Learning in Islamic Religious Education and Character Building (PAI-BP) faces the persistent challenge of dominance by conventional methods (teacher-centered learning), which severely impacts students’ low motivation and active participation. This community service program aims to address this issue through pedagogical innovation by providing intensive assistance in the implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model Type Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The methodology employed is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), focusing on the Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny stages, specifically oriented toward the empowerment of PAI-BP teachers at SMP Negeri 4 Panyabungan. Implementation results demonstrate that the program successfully transferred TGT technical skills to the partner teachers, evidenced by a significant increase in teacher understanding from 45% to 88% (during the Define stage). Furthermore, the application of TGT (during the Destiny stage) was empirically proven effective in boosting student learning motivation, supported by a 21.5% average increase in motivation questionnaire scores and observations showing high collaboration and participation during tournament sessions. The conclusion of this activity is that the TGT assistance successfully established a new skill asset for the partner teachers, shifted the learning paradigm toward Student-Centered Learning, and ensured the sustainability of innovation that contributes significantly to enhancing the quality of PAI-BP instruction at the school

Abstract

The limited capacity of pesantren to develop Islamic education oriented toward institutional self-reliance in Mandailing Natal indicates an axiological problem in the management of waqf as a value-based instrument of education. In this context, the thought of Junaid Thola offers a historical–contextual perspective on waqf as the axiological foundation of Islamic education. This study aims to examine the relevance of Junaid Thola’s thought in Kaifiyyat (1927) as a basis for developing an Islamic education model grounded in Pesantrenpreneurship and productive waqf. The researchers employed a qualitative methodology with a multiple-case study design and conducted the study in six pesantren in Mandailing Natal (Musthafawiyah, Al-Junaidiyah, Darul Ikhlas, Darul Ulum, Darul Hadis, and Roihanul Jannah). A constructivist–interpretive approach is integrated with hermeneutic analysis to explore the relationship between classical Islamic texts and contemporary pesantren educational practices. The researchers collected data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis and analysed them using interactive and abductive techniques supported by triangulation. The findings reveal that the relevance of Junaid Thola's thought within the context of pesantren-based Islamic education varies across institutions. Very high relevance is observed in pesantren with extensive waqf asset bases, whereas moderate relevance is found in pesantren with limited educational economic business units. Factors strengthening relevance include the availability of waqf assets and the coherence of leadership values with Islamic educational and business ethics, while limitations in physical assets function as constraining factors. Hermeneutic analysis of Kaifiyyat (1927) identifies 88 practical approaches to productive waqf encompassing six primary asset sources (agriculture, infrastructure, commerce, vocational activities, zakat, and collective contributions). These findings are synthesised into a Three-Pillar Axiological Model of Islamic Education, consisting of pesantren economic self-reliance (Asset Ontology), Islamic character education (Ethical Axiology), and Institutional Sustainability (Managerial Epistemology). This study contributes to the development of an integrative pesantren-based Islamic education model that bridges classical waqf thought with contemporary entrepreneurship-oriented educational practices.

Abstract

Digital transformation in elementary education is influenced by culture and ways of thinking. Change often hinders elementary education institutions, both in terms of organizational culture and individual perspectives. New perspectives and methods in elementary education are necessary for digital transformation. The purpose of this article is to explain how digital transformation and its implementation impact management in elementary education, using a keyword search for “digital transformation in education.” The research findings reveal that digital transformation brings significant benefits in improving operational efficiency, enhancing data accessibility, and elevating the quality of services provided to various stakeholders. However, significant challenges and obstacles are also encountered along this transformation journey. Resistance to change, data security challenges, financial constraints, and a lack of technical skills are some of the aspects that need to be carefully addressed. Brough the development of robust policies, investment in data security, employee training, and effective management support, elementary schools can overcome these obstacles and maximize the benefits of digital transformation. In addition to facilitating the learning process, digital transformation has also become a strategic tool for planning, monitoring, and evaluating academic activities and management functions within educational institutions. While it has been implemented in various forms, its implementation remains inconsistent across educational institutions.
