Abstract

Divorce in Muslim society has become a complex and concerning phenomenon. Advances in technology and the widespread use of social media have influenced the dynamics of divorce in this society. This study aims to understand the phenomenology of divorce through social media in Muslim society using a qualitative phenomenological approach. The results of the study indicate that social media plays an important role in the divorce process, both as a cause and as a consequence. Factors such as lack of communication, suspicion, and the influence of social media on household relationships are the main causes of divorce. In addition, social media is also used as a means to announce divorce, seek emotional support, and build post-divorce identity. Therefore, there is a need for awareness of the impact of social media on household relationships, the importance of effective communication and trust in the household and the need for support from family, society and religious institutions. Therefore, Muslim society must increase public awareness about the impact of social media, develop household education and counseling programs, and strengthen the role of religious institutions in supporting families.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of financial technology (fintech) has driven the adoption of e-wallets as a widely used medium for digital transactions. However, within the Islamic finance context, challenges such as Sharia compliance, transaction security, and effective governance persist. This study investigates the role of Sharia governance in mitigating legal, operational, and reputational risks associated with e-wallets and explores its implications for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 8, which emphasizes decent work and economic growth. Using a qualitative approach and secondary data analysis, the study examines Sharia governance frameworks, compliance challenges, and oversight mechanisms, including the role of the Sharia Advisory Board, periodic audits, and transparency in fund management. Findings reveal that robust Sharia governance reduces compliance uncertainties, enhances consumer trust, and stabilizes the industry. Furthermore, systematic governance in e-wallets directly supports SDG 8 by fostering financial inclusion, creating decent job opportunities, and driving sustainable economic growth. The study emphasizes the need for standardized Sharia compliance protocols, regular audits, and collaboration between regulatory bodies and e-wallet providers to ensure effective and consistent adherence to Islamic principles. The insights are crucial for stakeholders to develop a resilient Islamic fintech ecosystem that aligns technological innovation with Sharia values and global sustainability goals

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) often borrow additional funds from third parties to develop their business, for example, corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds from state-owned companies such as PT. Telkom Indonesia (hereafter referred to as Telkom). This quantitative study aimed to ascertain the impact of CSR funds from Telkom on the development of MSMEs, especially those in the trade sector, in Padang City from an Islamic economic perspective. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through questionnaires filled by 52 MSMEs in the trade sector in Padang City, and secondary data, obtained from official documents from the Central Statistics Agency. Sampling and determination of the number of samples were achieved using a random sampling technique. The data analysis technique in this study used descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics through an analytical tool, namely, the Wilcoxon test. The results revealed a positive and significant impact on the CSR program of Telkom in developing MSMEs in the trade sector in Padang City from the perspective of Islamic economics. This positive and significant impact is evident in the changes in the income of MSMEs in the trade sector in Padang City, which increased by around 1–3 million rupiah after receiving CSR funds from Telkom since 2016. From the perspective of Islamic economics, the implementers of Telkom’s CSR fund program in the MSME trade sector in Padang City have adopted the basic principles of Islamic economic development, namely, the principles of responsibility and justice.
