Abstract

Background: The maritime sector is highly dependent on technological infrastructure, including port management systems, ship monitoring systems, and satellite-based communication systems. This infrastructure is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of goods between countries and maintaining port operations and safe ship navigation. Objective: This study identifies cyberattack pathways targeting shipboard navigation and operational technology (OT) systems in Indonesian waters, develops attack-tree scenarios for those pathways, and evaluates ship captains' readiness to detect and respond to them. Methods: Attack-tree modeling was used to describe, analyze, and represent potential attack scenarios. The model draws on a literature review and interviews with twelve maritime experts: four captains and deck officers, four cybersecurity specialists, and four technical consultants. Validation was conducted through two Delphi rounds until an agreement level of 80% was reached. Results: Four attack trees produced eighteen validated attack paths across three primary attack goals: crashing the ship (five paths), sinking the ship (three paths), and disabling the ship (six paths), along with four shared enabling paths. Experts rated the attack scenarios for crashing and disabling the ship as highly feasible, whereas sinking the ship was considered unlikely. Overall, nine attack paths were classified as high risk. Conclusion: The attack tree serves not only as a vulnerability assessment tool but also as a structured, prioritized risk assessment instrument for maritime cybersecurity. Abstract

Kondisi ekosistem pesisir di Desa Karang Serang saat ini menghadapi tantangan degradasi lingkungan yang signifikan akibat polusi, pembangunan infrastruktur, dan kurangnya ruang terbuka hijau. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memulihkan keseimbangan ekosistem dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat lokal mengenai pentingnya penghijauan wilayah pesisir. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan meliputi tiga tahapan utama: penyuluhan materi keilmuan, sesi diskusi interaktif, serta praktik lapangan berupa penanaman pohon dan bersih-bersih pantai secara gotong royong. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman kolektif warga mengenai manfaat ekologis dan ekonomi dari vegetasi pantai, serta terlaksananya penanaman bibit pohon pelindung dan buah di area strategis. Kesimpulan dari program ini menekankan bahwa partisipasi aktif masyarakat merupakan kunci dalam keberhasilan restorasi lingkungan yang berkelanjutan demi mewujudkan kawasan pesisir yang asri, sehat, dan ramah lingkungan.   The coastal ecosystem in Karang Serang Village currently faces significant environmental degradation due to pollution, infrastructure development, and a lack of green open spaces. This community service activity aims to restore ecosystem balance and increase local community awareness of the importance of coastal greening. The implementation methods used include three main stages: scientific material counseling, interactive discussion sessions, and field practice involving collective tree planting and beach cleanup. The results indicate an improvement in the community's collective understanding of the ecological and economic benefits of coastal vegetation, alongside the successful planting of shade and fruit tree seedlings in strategic areas. The conclusion of this program emphasizes that active community participation is key to successful sustainable environmental restoration to achieve a beautiful, healthy, and eco-friendly coastal area.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi aktif civitas akademika serta masyarakat sekitar dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan kampus Politeknik Pelayaran Banten melalui program "Go Green". Kampus yang terletak di wilayah pesisir Sukadiri menghadapi tantangan lingkungan berupa pesatnya pembangunan dan dampak polusi udara dari aktivitas pelayaran serta aktivitas nelayan yang padat. Masalah utama yang diidentifikasi meliputi kurangnya ruang terbuka hijau dan rendahnya motivasi komunitas kampus untuk terlibat dalam aksi konservasi nyata. Metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini mencakup survei analisis kebutuhan lahan, penyuluhan edukatif mengenai gaya hidup ramah lingkungan, serta aksi praktis penanaman 50 pohon pelindung dan pohon buah di area strategis kampus. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan dan motivasi taruna dalam menerapkan praktik hijau, serta terciptanya lingkungan kampus yang lebih asri, sejuk, dan nyaman. Keberhasilan program ini diharapkan menjadi fondasi bagi terciptanya budaya lingkungan berkelanjutan yang mendukung kesehatan dan estetika kawasan pesisir Banten secara jangka panjang.   This community service activity aims to increase the awareness and active participation of the academic community and the surrounding society in preserving the environment of the Banten Marine Polytechnic campus through the "Go Green" program. The campus, located in the Sukadiri coastal area, faces environmental challenges such as rapid development and the impact of air pollution from shipping activities and busy fishing operations. The main issues identified include a lack of green open spaces and low motivation among the campus community to engage in concrete conservation actions. The methods applied in this activity consist of a land needs analysis survey, educational counseling on eco-friendly lifestyles, and practical implementation by planting 50 shade and fruit trees in strategic campus areas. The results of the activity show a significant increase in the knowledge and motivation of cadets to implement green practices, as well as the creation of a more beautiful, cool, and comfortable campus environment. The success of this program is expected to be a foundation for creating a sustainable environmental culture that supports the health and aesthetics of the Banten coastal region in the long term.

Abstract

Seafarer fatigue due to lack of rest time is a critical safety issue in maritime operations, especially on short-route container ships with high docking frequencies. This research was conducted at MV. Warih Mas, a container ship owned by PT. Temas Shipping, which experienced a work accident in 2025 related to overtime exceeding the provisions  of the 2006 Maritime Labour Convention (MLC). The purpose of the study was to describe the implementation of rest time management in accordance with MLC 2006 Regulation 2.3, identify internal and external factors that affect the implementation, analyze the impact of non-optimal rest management on crew performance, and evaluate optimization efforts carried out. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques with the Captain, Mualim I, and the Head of the Engine Room, complemented by observation and documentation studies. The validity of the data was guaranteed through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The results showed that the management of rest hours had been carried out through guard schedules, recording of Hours of Work and Rest, and supervision of senior officers, but in the period of 11-14 February 2025 there was overtime due to engine damage, equipment repairs, low crew awareness, and high frequency of docking. The impacts that arise include decreased concentration, productivity, physical and mental health, and an increased risk  of human error. Optimization efforts through safety meetings, supervision, and work recording have shown positive results, but consistency in the implementation  of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and strengthening the fatigue management culture  remain top priorities.
