Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli yang disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada metode ceramah. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan perlunya penerapan model pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan berorientasi pada aktivitas siswa agar kemampuan pemahaman konsep sebagai fondasi utama dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Concept Attainment terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII, dengan sampel kelas VII-A dan VII-B yang berjumlah 64 siswa, dipilih melalui teknik nonprobability sampling. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design) dengan instrumen berupa tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas Liliefors, uji homogenitas Fisher, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t independen. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai dan pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan derajat kebebasan 62. Karena , maka ditolak dan diterima. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Concept Attainment terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Temuan ini memperkuat efektivitas model tersebut secara teoretis serta memberikan implikasi praktis sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang mendorong keaktifan, analisis, dan pembelajaran bermakna di kelas matematika.

Abstract

This study was grounded in preliminary observations conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Lahewa Timur, which revealed two major issues: (1) classroom instruction was predominantly delivered through conventional teaching methods, and (2) students’ critical thinking skills remained relatively low. In response to these challenges, the present study aimed to examine the effect of a blended learning model on students’ critical thinking ability. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population comprised all eighth-grade students, with two intact classes selected as the sample through total sampling: Class VIII-A served as the experimental group, while Class VIII-B functioned as the control group. The research instrument consisted of essay-type tests administered as both pre-test and post-test to measure students’ critical thinking skills. The results indicated a substantial improvement in the experimental group following the implementation of blended learning. The mean pre-test scores were 30.44 for the experimental class and 28.35 for the control class. After the intervention, the mean post-test scores increased to 77.73 in the experimental class and 56.04 in the control class, demonstrating a notable gain in learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing using the t-test revealed that  exceeded  (7.476 > 1.708), leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of H₁. In conclusion, the findings provide empirical evidence that the blended learning model has a significant positive effect on students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has introduced both new opportunities and challenges in mathematics learning. Various AI-based systems, such as intelligent tutoring systems, generative chatbots, and problem-solving assistants, are capable of providing adaptive and instant cognitive support. However, the use of AI without reflective capabilities may lead to students’ dependency and superficial learning. This study aims to analyze the role of metacognition in the use of AI in mathematics learning and to formulate a conceptual model explaining the relationship between metacognitive processes and the quality of students’ interaction with AI. This study employed a qualitative approach using a systematic literature review design consisting of five main stages: formulation of research focus and questions, literature search strategy, inclusion and exclusion criteria, article selection process, and data analysis and synthesis. The articles analyzed included 32 Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2019 and 2024, complemented by eight classical and contemporary metacognition theory books relevant to the research focus. Data analysis was conducted through thematic analysis to identify the roles of metacognitive planning, monitoring, evaluation, and control in students’ interactions with AI. The findings indicate that metacognition functions as a primary mediator of the effectiveness of AI use in mathematics learning. Students with high metacognitive ability tend to use AI strategically, critically, and reflectively, whereas low metacognitive ability is associated with uncritical acceptance of AI outputs and a higher risk of overreliance. This study proposes a conceptual model positioning AI as an object of metacognitive regulation, in which monitoring and control processes at the meta-level mediate the quality of mathematical problem solving. These findings contribute theoretically to the advancement of metacognition research and provide practical implications for designing AI-supported mathematics learning that promotes self-regulation and reflective thinking.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study was motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of students due to limited teaching materials and the lack of video-based media. Therefore, it aimed to develop a multimedia learning video that is valid, practical, and effective. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, which consists of the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The development process involved multiple instruments, including learning outcome tests, expert validation questionnaires (covering content, language, and media), and teacher and student response questionnaires. The results indicated that the developed learning video was valid in terms of content, linguistic appropriateness, and media presentation. Moreover, the video was considered practical, as it is easy for both teachers and students to use in the learning process. The findings also demonstrated that the use of the learning video significantly improved students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, with the classical completeness achievement exceeding the minimum standard. Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed multimedia learning video is valid, practical, and effective. This product has the potential to serve as an innovative teaching resource that supports the enhancement of students’ mathematical problem-solving skills at the junior high school level.   ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa akibat keterbatasan bahan ajar dan media video, sehingga bertujuan mengembangkan video pembelajaran multimedia yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model 4D, yang mencakup tahap pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. Proses pengembangan melibatkan berbagai instrumen, seperti tes hasil belajar, angket validasi ahli (materi, bahasa, dan media), serta angket respons guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran yang dihasilkan dinyatakan valid dari segi isi materi, kelayakan bahasa, dan tampilan media. Selain itu, video tersebut dipandang praktis karena mudah digunakan oleh guru maupun siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Temuan penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan video pembelajaran mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa secara signifikan, dengan pencapaian ketuntasan klasikal yang melebihi standar minimal. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa video pembelajaran berbasis multimedia yang dikembangkan telah terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif. Produk ini berpotensi menjadi salah satu alternatif solusi dalam menyediakan bahan ajar inovatif yang mendorong peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di tingkat SMP.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study was motivated by preliminary observations at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo’oa, which indicated that students’ mathematical reasoning skills were still low, while the mathematics instructional materials used were relatively limited. Based on this situation, the study aimed to: (1) analyze the validity of project-based Student Worksheets (LKS), (2) assess their practicality, and (3) evaluate their effectiveness in learning. The research employed a development approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), utilizing test instruments, validation questionnaires, and response surveys, with both qualitative and quantitative data analyses. The results demonstrated that the project-based LKS were valid, practical, and effective. Validity scores were 84.72% from the first content expert (valid), 87.50% from the second content expert (very valid), 91.67% from the language expert (very valid), and 88.54% from the media expert (very valid). Practicality scores were 72.22% in individual trials (practical), 84.83% in small group trials (very practical), and 88.11% in field trials (very practical). The effectiveness of the LKS was reflected in the students’ average mathematical reasoning score of 87.88 (very good) and a classical completeness of 86.36% (very effective). Therefore, the project-based LKS are deemed suitable for enhancing the mathematical reasoning skills of junior high school students.  ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi hasil observasi awal di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo’oa yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa masih rendah, sementara bahan ajar matematika yang digunakan tergolong terbatas. Berdasarkan kondisi ini, penelitian bertujuan: (1) menganalisis validitas Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis proyek, (2) menilai kepraktisan LKS, dan (3) mengevaluasi efektivitasnya dalam pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), menggunakan instrumen tes, angket validasi, dan angket respon, dengan analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis proyek terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif. Validitas LKS memperoleh skor 84,72% dari ahli materi pertama (valid), 87,50% dari ahli materi kedua (sangat valid), 91,67% dari ahli bahasa (sangat valid), dan 88,54% dari ahli media (sangat valid). Kepraktisan LKS ditunjukkan dengan skor 72,22% pada uji perseorangan (praktis), 84,83% pada uji kelompok kecil (sangat praktis), dan 88,11% pada uji lapangan (sangat praktis). Efektivitas LKS terlihat dari rata-rata kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa sebesar 87,88 (sangat baik) dan ketuntasan klasikal 86,36% (sangat efektif). Dengan demikian, LKS berbasis proyek layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan penalaran matematis siswa SMP.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan peneliti di SMP Negeri 5 Mandrehe, ditemukan beberapa masalah kurangnya keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan cenderung menggunakan model pembelajaran konvesional, kurangnya penggunaan lembar kerja siswa (LKS). Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui model collaborative learning berbantuan LKS untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode quasi eksperiment (eksperimen semu) dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Mandrehe, yaitu kelas VIII-A yang berjumlah 18 orang sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan model collaborative learning berbantuan LKS dan kelas VIII-B yaitu berjumlah 17 orang sebagai kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvesional, rata–rata nilai pada tes akhir kelas eksperimen adalah 81 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 63. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes awal dan tes akhir. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis yaitu thitung = 6,145 sedangkan ttabel =1,962 karena thitung > ttabel maka ada pengaruh Model Colaborative learning Berbantuan Lembar Kerja siswa (LKS) Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpkir Kreatif Siswa. Bedasarkan analisi data menununjukkan nilai signifikansi yaitu 0,001 < 0,05. Menunjukkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti adanya pengaruh yang signifikan pada model collaborative learning berbantuan LKS untuk meningkarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Low student interest in mathematics learning remains a persistent problem that can affect learning outcomes. Based on preliminary observations at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli, some students showed limited interest and active participation during mathematics lessons. This study aimed to analyze the effect of learning interest on the mathematics achievement of eighth-grade students at the school. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The population consisted of all students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli, while the sample included 86 eighth-grade students selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire and documentation of mathematics scores as indicators of learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using correlation analysis to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results indicated a positive effect of learning interest on mathematics achievement, as shown by an r_calculated value of 0.321, which was higher than the r_table value of 0.213 at a 5% significance level. These findings suggest that higher learning interest is associated with better mathematics achievement. Therefore, learning interest is an important factor contributing to students’ success in mathematics learning. ABSTRAK Rendahnya minat belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika masih menjadi permasalahan yang dapat memengaruhi pencapaian hasil belajar. Berdasarkan observasi awal di UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli, sebagian siswa menunjukkan kurangnya ketertarikan dan partisipasi aktif dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh minat belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII di sekolah tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli, sedangkan sampel berjumlah 86 siswa kelas VIII yang ditentukan melalui teknik sampling purposive. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket minat belajar dan dokumentasi nilai matematika sebagai indikator hasil belajar. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kedua variabel. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif minat belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika, ditunjukkan oleh nilai r_hitung sebesar 0,321 yang lebih besar daripada r_tabel sebesar 0,213 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi minat belajar siswa, semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan hasil belajar matematika yang dicapai. Dengan demikian, minat belajar merupakan faktor penting yang berkontribusi terhadap keberhasilan pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This research is based on a preliminary study conducted through initial observations at UPTD SMP Negeri 8 Gunungsitoli, which reavealed that teachers are still in the adjustment stage to the independent curriculum, leading to suboptimal implementation. Low student motivation, inadequate mathematics learning facilities and infrastructure, and limited resources encouranged the researcher to investigate the extent of the independent curriculum implementation, learning, and assessment at the school. This study employs a qualitative research method with data colleted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used included interviews with teacher, student, and several school administration. Data analysis consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using qualitative deskriptive analysis techniques. The findings of this research indicate that teachers have prepared learning plans based on the independent curriculum. although the implementation has not been fully optimal. Teachers have integrated the main components of the independent curriculum into the learning process, but some still encounter abstracles due to a lack of facilities and resources. Overall , the independent curriculum has been implemented and has shown positive results in learning, thought improvements are still needed to achieve maximum outcomes.
