Abstract

The aim of the current study is to explore the association between power perception and emotional abuse, with power satisfaction as a mediating factor, and to determine the prevalence of reciprocal emotional abuse within adolescent romantic relationships. The sample consisted of 184 (15-18 years) in romantic relationships for at least six months and were students at SMAS A, SMKN B, and SMAN C, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Measure of Emotional Abuse Scale and Power Perception and Power Satisfaction Scale. The scale reliability indicates good results, α ≥ 0.8 for MMEA dimensions and α > 0.66 for Power scale. Data were analyzed using the causal step method. The analysis results show that power perception, mediated by power satisfaction, does not significantly affect emotional abuse in adolescents (p > 0.05). In adolescents, the power perception tends to be the same, and they generally experience high power satisfaction. The research also shows that emotional abuse between adolescents with romantic relationships occurs reciprocally (p < 0.01; r > 0.194). The research results are expected to contribute to future studies and the design or development of interventions aimed at preventing emotional abuse in adolescent relationships.

Abstract

Amid the limitations of honorary teachers regarding welfare demands, it shows that there is still a sense of satisfaction and happiness even though the lack of income is a burden and an obstacle. These feelings indicate subjective well-being which not only influenced by material but also internal dispositions. The study aimed to examine the effect of the gratitude trait on subjective well-being directly or indirectly through the mediation of the gratitude state. Participants are honorary teachers in Surakarta with the required sample size of 122 - 144 people. Measurements were made using the subjective well-being scale, the gratitude trait scale, and the gratitude state scale. The data were tested using path analysis model regression analysis based on the procedure of the Baron & Kenny mediator. The results showed a greater role contribution to the direct effect (βc' = 0.326) of the gratitude trait on subjective well-being than the indirect effect through the mediation of the gratitude state (βab = 0.068). These results provide an overview of the subjective well-being of honorary teachers associated with the gratitude trait and the gratitude state.

Abstract

Teachers in elementary schools have a strategic role in providing social guidance to students to accept the presence of Students with Disability (SwD). The aims of this study were to determine the social attitudes of students, how teachers provide social guidance for non-disability students regarding the presence of disabled students in class/school and describe the challenges faced by teachers. This study uses a mixed method approach (Quantitative and Qualitative). This research method uses a data collection technique, namely a questionnaire distributed via Google Form to teachers in Indonesia. Through the questionnaire, quantitative data (percentage) and qualitative data were obtained regarding the challenges faced. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis. Respondents in this study were elementary school teachers in inclusive elementary schools. A total of 173 elementary school teachers from 58 districts and cities. The results of the study showed that there were still many social attitudes of students towards the presence of SwD in inclusive elementary schools that were not good. Students are less able to accept the presence of SwD (51%). Most teachers have a way of guiding the form of advice to students (75%). Teachers have difficulty in providing social guidance to students with SwD. In providing social guidance, teachers face challenges of lack of information and teachers' ignorance about children with disabilities; teachers have difficulty in creating guidance models to help students who can’t yet accept SwD, increasing the independence of SwD, lack of training on guidance and counselling for SwD and dealing with parents.

Abstract

The massive use of Instagram in Indonesia aligns with the high need for emerging adults to socialize and express themselves. This makes users face much information, making it vulnerable to causing social media fatigue. This study examines the role of the information overload variable as a mediator of the relationship between the intensity of social media use and social media fatigue in the emerging adult group. Respondents in this study were aged 18-25 years, including 145 men and 182 women. Data was collected using three scales: SONTUS Revised Version, Information Overload Scales, and the SMFS Scale, adapted into Indonesian. The collected data was tested using PROCESS Macro (Model 4) involving intermediary variables with the help of the SPSS Statistics 26.0 for Windows program. This study's results indicate a mediating effect of excess information in the relationship between the intensity of social media use and social media fatigue. Complete mediation occurs because the direct impact becomes insignificant when the extra information variable is added to the equation
