Abstract

DC generator with variable rotation will produce uncontrolled voltage, causing problems in its utilization. In this study, it is proposed to develop a voltage control on the generator, in order to produce a fairly controllable and reliable voltage, with an analog circuit using a multistage comparator. Control of the generator output voltage is carried out by adjusting the field current from a separate voltage source which is forwarded to the resistance which is regulated based on the generator output voltage level with a multilevel comparison system. The results obtained are the output voltage ranges from 26 to 30 Volts and the output current ranges from 3 to 20 Amperes. This provides operational safety for the generator and battery. This technology can be used in dc generator systems in automotive engines, windmills, and other power plants.

Abstract

Variable voltage DC power supply that has wide range of power, lightweight and inexpensive is quite difficult to obtain. This research designs and tests a DC power supply without a transformer using switching technology that utilizes TRIAC. The 220 Volt AC power source is converted to DC electricity by the method of cutting off some AC waves signal, using TRIAC, and then rectifying it with diodes and filters. DIAC functions as a trigger TRIAC at the specified time, by turning the variable resistor. The test results show that the output DC power voltage can be adjusted from 5 Volts to 75 Volts by adjusting the DIAC resistance and the load resistance. The results of the series image characteristics are given 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional graphics.

Abstract

The prototype of the electric smart stove is an electric stove with briquette fuel from teak leaf waste. The thermoelectric module used is 12 units of a Peltier TEC-12706. Thermoelectric generators take advantage of the Seebeck effect with temperature differences from both sides of the Peltier will produce electrical energy. The developing prototype method of an electric smart stove is carried out in 4 stages. First stage, analyzing geometry requirements and smart stove shape. Second stage is the process making of an electric smart stove. Third stage, installation of a power plant. The fourth stage, measurement of electrical power output. Based on the experiment, it is found that the thermoelectric generator produces 1.31 volts of electrical energy with a delta T of 40 degrees Celsius. As the result, an electric smart stove has not been able to charge the battery because the electric energy produced tends to be small.

Abstract

The limitation of the operational area of the PWM signal generator provided by the microprocessor or chip, give the opportunity to develop flip flop technology that has been widely used in digital technology as a latch, counter, register, memory and so on, will  be able to be developed into a PWM driver. Flip flop technology has developed and is able to reach a very wide operational area regarding voltage and frequency variations. So in this research flip flop technology was developed as a PWM signal driver and the results were better, involving the ability to vary voltage from 6 to 60 Volts, frequencies from 2 to 81 kHz and duty cycles of 10 -75%. Furthermore, if a component with higher capability is selected, it will be able to operate in very low to very high operating areas, exceeding the capabilities of the microprocessor or chip.

Abstract

The corona pandemic has caused global problems, including Indonesia. One way to reduce the spread of the coronavirus is to wash your hands frequently with soap or hand sanitizer. Many types of hand sanitizers were developed to support efforts to prevent the spread of the corona. For this reason, this paper proposes two types of Contactless Hans Sanitizer (CHS) prototypes. Function tests and user satisfaction tests were carried out to determine the performance of the CHS. The test results show that type A CHS which only works fully electrically is more reliable than type B which works with electrical and mechanical systems. Of the 10 respondents, 90% chose CHS type A.

Abstract

The electric motor is one of the technological developments which can support the production process. DC motor has some advantages compared to AC motor especially on the easier way to control its speed or position as well as its widely adjustable range. The main issue in the DC motor is controlling the angular speed with uncertainty and disturbance. The alternative solution of a control method with simple, easy to design, and implementable in a multi-input multi-output system is integral state feedback such as linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG). It is a combination between linear quadratic regulator and Kalman filter. One of the advantages of this method is the usage of fewer sensors compared with the original linear quadratic regulator method which uses sensors as many as the state in the system model. The design, simulation, and experimental study of the application of LQG as state feedback control in a DC-drive system have been done. Both performance and energy were analyzed and compared with conventional proportional integral derivative (PID). The gain of LQG was determined by trial whereas the PID gain is determined from MATLAB autotuning without fine-tuning. The load test and tracking test were carried out in the experiment. Both simulation and hardware tests showed the same result which LQG is superior in integral absolute error (IAE) by up to 74.37 % in loading test compared to PID. On the other side, LQG needs more energy, it consumes higher energy by 6.34 % in the load test.

INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRIC VEHICLE FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. The purpose of this service program is to introduce junior high school students to electric vehicle technology. The material presented is basic material covering the meaning, benefits, and components of electric vehicles. The socialization was carried out via online due to the corona outbreak. The explanation is done with a short video consisting of a simple explanation as well as a demo of the components of a real electric vehicle with an electric bicycle. In addition, students are also given a short ebook on the material. To find out students' understanding, a short quiz about the material was given. The result is an average score of 83.9%, which indicates that the participants' level of understanding is quite good with the material presented. The sample of basic questions about electric vehicles showed that only 3.8% of students were wrong. In the final conclusion, students have gained knowledge about electric vehicles through socialization activities that have been carried out.
