Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN 11 Panai Hulu by using Baamboozle. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research is carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In each cycle, the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model supported by Baamboozle was used to show a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. The results of the analysis showed that the average student score increased from 77.25% in the first cycle to 84.97% in the second cycle, with the percentage of learning completion also increasing significantly. The use of Baamboozle as a learning aid allows students to collaborate, compete, and interact in a fun atmosphere, thereby improving their understanding of the math material. This study concludes that digital educational game-based learning methods, such as Baamboozle, are effective in improving student learning outcomes, as well as providing a more interesting and interactive learning experience. Recommendations are given so that this method is more often applied in the learning process in elementary schools to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Various reports say that Saudi Arabia is the main funder to various institutions spreading Wahhabism teachings that were considered by some as the ideological roots of radicalism and terrorism. King Salman's administration has been marked by a series of effort to establish a new identity for the moderate Saudi Kingdom. In March 2018, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman even admitted that his country had played a role in spreading Wahhabism, but was now determined to make changes. This article seeks to answer the question how is the real role of Saudi Arabia in the proliferation of terrorism in the world and what is the cause of the changing behaviour of Saudi Arabia's foreign policy in the era of King Salman? By using the theory of constructivism (agent-structure relations) in foreign policy, the authors argue that Saudi Arabia as an agent perceives its identity in accordance with the pressure of the global economy and the massive criticism of the international community against her support for the extreme groups. Facing these two pressures, Saudi Arabia tries to shift its identity into a moderate state. But at the same time, the identity of being a Muslim world leader vis-a-vis Iran aggravates the Saudis to continue spreading of Wahhabism. Thus it can be concluded that Saudi Arabia has dualism of identity in order to achieve polarity of its national interests.

Abstract

While previous studies on Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) often focus on its theological orientation or political engagement, little attention has been given to how its rejection of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) practices is reconciled with its identity as a moderate Islamic organization. This study addresses that gap by examining how NU constructs and practices moderation while firmly opposing LGBT behavior. Using a qualitative approach through analysis of official documents and in-depth interviews with Muslimat NU figures, the study finds that NU’s rejection of LGBT is grounded in theological arguments from the Qur’an and Hadith, reinforced by socio-cultural considerations and the organizational principles of moderation. This rejection is institutionalized through fatwas and official statements—most notably the 2016 NU fatwa—which prohibit same-sex relationships, yet explicitly denounce discrimination and violence against LGBT individuals. Moderation is operationalized through educational, rehabilitative, and dialogical strategies rather than purely punitive measures, reflecting the organization’s selective adaptation to modern challenges within the “Islam Nusantara” framework. This dual commitment—upholding theological steadfastness while fostering inclusive social engagement—illustrates a dynamic form of Islamic moderation. The findings not only contribute to scholarly debates on reconciling moral conservatism with moderation in Islamic contexts but also provide actionable insights for policymakers and religious leaders in managing sensitive moral issues in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

The Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan after the fall of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan government in 2021. The Afghan government has now been transformed into the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (EIA). The Taliban-dominated EIA government has implemented new discriminatory and restrictive policies, particularly against women. This study employed qualitative methods, collecting data from literature reviews and interviews. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis, and validity was tested through data triangulation. The indicator of discrimination against women used in this research is SDGs No. 5 (Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering Women), in which the government should be responsible for meeting nine related targets. The conclusion of this study is that of the nine targets that should have been achieved, the Taliban have not met any of them. Using the concept of cultural violence, this condition is analyzed, and the influence of religion and ideology on the legitimacy and implementation of the Taliban's discriminatory policies against women is revealed.

Abstract

The Palestine–Israel conflict, is one of the most complex and prolonged issues in modern international politics, marked by an acute humanitarian crisis since the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. In this context, Indonesia holds a distinctive position as a country that has consistently supported the Palestinian struggle, from the era of President Soekarno to President Joko Widodo. This research, aims to analyze Indonesia's foreign policy toward the Palestine–Israel issue through the lens of normative theory in International Relations, which emphasizes the importance of moral values, ethical principles, and international norms in state decision-making. Utilizing a qualitative method based on literature studies and in-depth interviews, this study explores how the constitutional foundation of the 1945 Constitution, the values of Pancasila, and the nation's moral identity shape Indonesia’s consistent stance in international forums. The findings reveal, that Indonesia’s support for Palestine is not merely a political strategy or a response to global dynamics, but rather a representation of a normative commitment to justice, human rights, and anti-colonial principles. The normative theory approach in this study demonstrates that Indonesia’s foreign policy reflects the nation’s ethical identity as well as its moral stance in confronting global injustices experienced by the Palestinian people. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how normative theory can be applied to analyze foreign policy in the Global South, particularly in post-colonial contexts. The study also provides insights for policy makers and scholars in recognizing the enduring role of ethical considerations in shaping international relations.

Abstract

This article investigates the strategic motivations behind the evolving relationship between Türkiye and Russia, analyzing key diplomatic, economic, military, and energy dynamics. Although Türkiye is a NATO member, its increasingly independent foreign policy—driven by national interests and energy dependency—has allowed it to maintain close ties with Moscow despite growing tensions between Russia and the West. Conversely, Russia views Türkiye as a valuable economic partner and a wedge within NATO's cohesion. This study enhances the scholarly discourse by filling several key research gaps. It begins by offering a theoretical perspective based on realism and strategic hedging—an approach that remains underutilized in much of the prior, predominantly descriptive, literature. Furthermore, this study reveals that Türkiye’s foreign policy reflects a calculated strategy to navigate structural pressures while preserving autonomy. Empirically, the research examines bilateral interactions in Syria, Libya, Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Black Sea, highlighting how Türkiye and Russia manage conflictual interests through compartmentalized cooperation. It also addresses underexplored areas such as tourism and nuclear education as informal stabilizers in their relationship. Findings suggest that Türkiye’s engagement with Russia is not a deviation from its Western alliances, but part of a broader strategic hedge designed to enhance diplomatic flexibility. Likewise, Russia’s outreach to Ankara reinforces its goal of weakening transatlantic unity. Overall, the Türkiye–Russia relationship exemplifies pragmatic statecraft under multipolarity, where rivalry and cooperation coexist in a transactional equilibrium.

Abstract

From the colonial era to the contemporary period, the history of the United States (US) has recorded many cases of racism, although in the 20th century  the Civil Rights Movement ended legal segregation. Cases of racism strengthened again in 2020–2021 targeting Asians in the US, including Indonesian citizens, after Covid-19 was referred to as the "China virus" by President Trump. This study aims to describe the response and efforts made by the Indonesian government in dealing with the increasing cases of racial violence against Asians that threaten the security of Indonesian citizens in the US, from the perspective of human security The methods used in this study are qualitative with interview techniques, literature studies, and internet-based research. Indonesia's efforts to address the security of Indonesian citizens in the United States include establishing communication with the diaspora community and students through online meetings, as well as building cooperation with US security authorities, ranging from local police units to FBI representatives. Sejak era kolonial hingga masa kontemporer, sejarah Amerika Serikat (AS) mencatat sangat banyak kasus rasisme, meski pada abad ke-20 Civil Rights Movement mengakhiri segregasi hukum.
