Abstract

This study aims to provide a better understanding of how transformational leadership and variations of work methods can be used effectively in the logistics industry, as well as provide practical guidance for leaders and managers to improve the performance of their organizations. The research design in this study generally adopts a quantitative research approach. It is an explanatory study that aims to test all proposed hypotheses, building on previous research and literature. In addition, this study seeks to explain the relationship and influence between research variables (transformational leadership, and variations in work methods with organizational performance). Furthermore, the sampling method used in this study is non-probability sampling, which is considered capable of providing valuable and reliable insights to obtain potential information. The sampling design uses a purposive sampling approach, namely the selection of samples based on certain criteria. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between Transformational Leadership and Variations in Work Methods. There is no significant relationship between Variation of Work Methods and Organizational Performance. Although there is no significant relationship in this test, this does not mean that the relationship between the variables does not exist at all. Other factors not measured in this study may influence the relationship between Transformational Leadership, Variation of Work Methods, and Organizational Performance.

Research Methodology: The method used in this study was descriptive quantitative. The sample consisted of 86 employees. Census was used as the sampling technique. Primary and secondary data were used in this study. The analysis tool used in this study was SmartPLS. The tests carried out in this study included the Validity Test, Reliability Test, Inner Model Test, Outer Model Test, and Hypothesis Test. Results: The results of the research conducted at PT XYZ in the cargo sector include the following: 1) Motivation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction; 2) Competence has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction; 3) Remuneration has no positive and insignificant effect on job satisfaction; 4) Motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 5) Competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 6) Remuneration has no positive and insignificant effect on employee performance; 7) Job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 8) Motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance through job satisfaction; 9) Competence has a ,positive and significant effect on employee performance through job satisfaction; and 10) Remuneration has no positive and insignificant effect on employee performance through job satisfaction. In contrast, remuneration shows no significant positive effect on job satisfaction or employee performance, either directly or indirectly. Limitations: This study's focus on specific companies limits generalizability, and potential bias may arise from self-reported data. Its cross-sectional design restricts causal inferences. Future studies should consider mixed methods to obtain deeper insights. Contribution: This study contributes to the understanding of employee performance and job satisfaction in cargo companies, with a focus on motivation, competence, and remuneration factors.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop hypotheses regarding factors that influence employee turnover, with a particular focus on the land transportation sector in Indonesia. The land transportation industry is characterized by high employee mobility and operational demands, making turnover a critical issue that directly affects service quality, safety, and organizational sustainability. Understanding the underlying factors is therefore essential for designing effective human resource policies and reducing workforce instability. Methodology: This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review. Descriptive qualitative studies aim to systematically synthesize and interpret findings from previous research without relying on statistical data analysis (Creswell & Poth, 2018). Comparative analysis was used to identify patterns and relationships across multiple studies. The data were collected from academic sources such as Thomson Reuters Journals, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Scopus Q2–Q4 Emerald, Elsevier, Sage, Web of Science, Sinta 2–5 Journals, DOAJ, EBSCO, Google Scholar, Copernicus, and digital reference books. Results: The review identifies ten key findings: work engagement, remuneration, and leadership directly affect both career path and turnover; career path itself strongly influences turnover; and work engagement and remuneration indirectly affect turnover through career path. Conclusions: Employee turnover depends on engagement, leadership, and career opportunities; strengthening these reduces turnover and enhances workforce stability in transportation. Limitations: Future research should include transportation data to strengthen findings. Contribution: This study enhances understanding of employee turnover by examining work engagement, remuneration, leadership, and career path.

Abstract

Public service is a government activity within institutions or organizations aimed at meeting societal needs in accordance with regulations. Motor vehicle testing is the inspection of vehicle components, including trailers and semi-trailers, to ensure technical compliance and roadworthiness. According to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 25 of 2009 on Public Services, the state must fulfill citizens’ needs while guaranteeing their rights and obligations. Community decisions to reuse services are largely influenced by satisfaction with the services received, making service quality improvement a key element of bureaucratic reform. This study applies a quantitative approach using SEM-PLS. The Partial Least Square method is employed to test theories and identify relationships among latent variables. Findings show that public trust mediates the effect of service quality and facilities on public satisfaction.
