Abstract

This research measures the efficiency of waqf funds managed by philanthropic institutions in Indonesia using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach over the 2013-2021 period. The unit of analysis consists of nine philanthropic waqf institutions. In the measurement of efficiency, the study takes human resource expenses and operational costs as inputs and collection and distribution of waqf funds as outputs. The findings indicate that the efficiency of philanthropic organizations in handling waqf funds varies from year to year between 2013 and 2021. The paper also notes that the Covid pandemic has no substantial impact on the efficiency of the waqf institutions. Interestingly, regional institution clusters are more efficient than mass organization and national institution clusters. Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the tourism sector on economic growth in 53 OIC member countries. This study uses 4 independent variables namely population, open trade, inflation, and international tourism receipts. The data used is annual panel data from 2010 to 2021, obtained from SESRIC OIC. The analysis method applied in this study is static panel data regression. The results showed that all independent variables, such as population, open trade, inflation, and international tourism receipts, have a significant influence both simultaneously and partially on the economic growth variable (GDP). The tourism sector stimulates other industries through direct, indirect, and induced impacts, contributes to job creation, and causes positive economies of scale. In addition, investments in the tourism sector can positively impact tourism performance indicators such as travel and tourism GDP, international tourism receipts, and international tourist arrivals.

Abstract

This research addresses a specific issue within halal marketing, emphasizing its novelty. Despite widespread recognition in marketing literature of the roles played by various halal components and strategies in influencing consumer purchase intentions, there is a distinct research gap in the lack of studies focusing on specific categories. This study aims to fill that gap by examining the relationship between halal awareness, certification, and other marketing elements in shaping the halal purchase intentions of Mixue consumers in Indonesia. Structural equation model analysis of data from 156 Mixue consumers revealed positive correlations between halal awareness, certification, and brand with purchase intentions, while food quality and promotion showed negative and non-significant relationships. Theoretically, the research strives to advance a conceptual model of halal purchase intentions by integrating halal components with marketing elements, contributing to marketing literature with a specific focus on Mixue and its consumers in Indonesia. The practical implications involve a deeper understanding of factors influencing halal product purchase intentions, aiding marketing decision-making and business strategies in this rapidly growing market.
