Abstract

Purpose: This paper aims to analyze credit in the Indonesian banking construction sector empirically. Specifically, we examine whether economic conditions affect construction sector credit and how the response and diversity of construction sector credit in the face of economic shocks. Methodology/approach: This article use monthly data on Indonesian banking credit from 2004 to 2022 using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Findings: The long-term effects of the economy on credit are shown by the results of the VECM research. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) results indicate that credit in the construction industry has both positive and negative effects. Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) analysis shows that gross domestic product, crises, industrial price index, interest rates, exchange rates, and inflation affect credit diversity. Practical implications: Banking credit is an essential component in meeting company needs. Banks need to consider several things in the distribution of credit to the construction sector, especially those that impact the long term. Originality/value: This research provides a better understanding of how the construction sector credit can be affected by changing economic conditions, and how diverse credit responses and policies are in the face of such shocks.

Abstract

The country earns substantial foreign exchange from the food and beverage sector, the primary sector for people's needs. This study aims to analyze the effect of debt to equity ratio (DER), return on assets (ROA), free cash flow (FCF), and growth (GRW). This study uses five companies in the food and beverage sector from 2015 to 2019 with quarterly financial reports. The study results using the fixed-effect model prove that all the variables studied significantly affect the price to book value. Companies need to maintain and improve their business performance and financial performance, then report them following the principles and standards that apply to each period's financial statements to attract investors.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of crises, non-performing financing variables, exchange rates, inflation, and interest rates on Islamic banks' short-term and long-term profitability in Indonesia. Profitability (ROA) fluctuations are also assessed in consideration of exogenous shocks. This analysis uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to examine monthly data from 2007 to 2023. The results suggest that non-performing financing (NPF), exchange rates (BIRT), and inflation (IFLS) have a substantial impact on the long term. While the crisis variable exhibits a relatively less substantial influence, interest rates reveal distinct short-term and long-term impacts. The Impulse Response Function data indicate that NPF, KURS, and IFLS have a negligible effect on ROA. NPF primarily influences ROA variation, as determined by the Forecast Error Variance Decomposition; KURS follows suit. Islamic Banks' management must diligently oversee non-performing loans, exchange rates, and inflation and astutely devise interest rate strategies. The factors impacting the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia are thoroughly examined in this study.

Abstract

This research aims to explain why Islamic stock indexes tend to track the currency exchange rates of emerging countries. Granger causality is used in this analysis, and it is applied to daily data beginning with the day the index was first formed for each country. The Islamic stock indices of Malaysia, Indonesia, and India were employed as a research sample in this study. According to the findings of the research, there is only a correlation in one direction between the Islamic stock index and the currency exchange rate. Both the Islamic stock indexes in Malaysia and India have an effect on the currency exchange rate in that nation, whereas the currency exchange rate in India affects the Islamic stock index. This finding is helpful as a source of data in determining policies for the development of the Islamic financial system because it was discovered that. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the stock prices of companies in the infrastructure sector. This study utilizes a panel data regression method conducted from 2015 to 2022, using quarterly reports from seven different companies. According to the findings, four elements have a major impact on the stock price. The return on assets (ROA), price to book value (PBV), and total asset turnover (TATO) have a positive impact on stock prices, while debt to equity ratio (DER) has a negative impact. These findings are consistent with previous research on factors that affect stock prices. Companies should pay close attention to consistency in financial ratio indicators that affect stock prices, as demonstrated by this study. Financial ratio volatility is associated with higher risk and lower investor trust. Price to book value (PBV), return on assets (ROA), dan total asset turnover (TATO) memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap harga saham, sedangkan debt to equity ratio (DER) memiliki pengaruh negatif.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the causal relationship between the Islamic stock market and the exchange rate, as well as examine the volatility of the Islamic stock index in emerging countries. The study utilized the Granger causality test to analyze the causality between the Islamic stock market and the exchange rate and employed the Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) model for volatility analysis and forecasting. For this research, daily time series data ranging from 2012 to 2022 from the Islamic stock indices of Malaysia, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Kuwait were selected as the sample. It was observed that the stock index had an impact on the exchange rate in Malaysia, Pakistan, India, and Turkey. Conversely, the exchange rate influenced the stock index in Indonesia, Kuwait, and Turkey.
