Abstract

Introduction / Main Objectives: This research aims to investigate how other Asian stock markets have affected the Indonesian market and how much of an effect they have had. Background Problems: Looking at the capital market is a way to measure the health and growth of a country's economy. Consequently, a nation will employ a wide range of measures to lessen the impact of potential threats and make the most of its available resources. Research Methods: Using daily time series data from 2010 to 2022, the number of observations in this study reached 2712. This study employs vector autoregression (VAR). Findings/Results: The study's findings indicated that the stock indices of Malaysia and Thailand affected the Indonesian indices. The Indonesian stock market index (IHSG) reacted negatively to the indices of the Philippines (PSEI), Malaysia (KLCI), and South Korea (KOSPI) and positively to those of Hong Kong (HANG SENG), Thailand (SETI), and Japan (NIKKEI). Conclusion: Capital market portfolio diversification allows investors to evaluate alternative investing techniques. It is essential to have a diversified worldwide portfolio while trading on Asian exchanges. The study's findings shed light on the Asian stock market's tendencies and patterns in novel ways.

Abstract

Abstract. Overall, there have been indicators of a slowdown in the global economy, and several countries have actually seen contraction. Investment has dropped as a result, another unwelcome effect of the current crisis. The goal of this research is to determine the impact that various characteristics of the companies in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) have on their firm value (TQ). These characteristics include company size (SIZ), debt to assets ratio (DAR), current ratio (CUR), and return on assets ratio (ROA). Here, we apply a random effect model to the annual data from the financial statements of eleven distinct companies from 2011 to 2021. Findings suggest that the debt-to-asset ratio and the current ratio are important indicators of a company's overall financial health and value (TQ). Realizing the firm's full potential is crucial if it is to fulfill its major goals, which is why maximization of value is of such paramount importance. Good company performance is summarized in the firm value, making it simpler to convince potential investors that the business is worth their time. The wealth of the company's shareholders is proportional to the value of the company.

Abstract

This study seeks to empirically examine the influence of capital structure, liquidity, firm value, firm size, and external factors on profitability within companies operating in the property and real estate sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, utilizing sample data from 2018 to 2022. Through purposive sampling, 10 companies were selected as research subjects, employing panel data regression analysis. The findings indicate that liquidity and company size have a negative and significant impact on profitability. Conversely, inflation exerts a positive and significant influence on profitability. However, neither capital structure nor firm value significantly affect profitability. These results contribute to understanding the factors influencing the profitability of property and real estate sector companies within the Indonesian capital market context.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of crises, non-performing financing variables, exchange rates, inflation, and interest rates on Islamic banks' short-term and long-term profitability in Indonesia. Profitability (ROA) fluctuations are also assessed in consideration of exogenous shocks. This analysis uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to examine monthly data from 2007 to 2023. The results suggest that non-performing financing (NPF), exchange rates (BIRT), and inflation (IFLS) have a substantial impact on the long term. While the crisis variable exhibits a relatively less substantial influence, interest rates reveal distinct short-term and long-term impacts. The Impulse Response Function data indicate that NPF, KURS, and IFLS have a negligible effect on ROA. NPF primarily influences ROA variation, as determined by the Forecast Error Variance Decomposition; KURS follows suit. Islamic Banks' management must diligently oversee non-performing loans, exchange rates, and inflation and astutely devise interest rate strategies. The factors impacting the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia are thoroughly examined in this study.

Abstract

ABSTRACTStock is a promising investment option for investors, encouraging the need for an in-depth understanding of the impact of internal and external factors on share price movements. This research aims to analyze the influence of liquidity, profitability, inflation, and exchange rates on stock prices in the manufacturing sector. With a quantitative approach, the research uses secondary data. It applies a purposive sampling method to select a sample of manufacturing companies that meet the criteria for being listed companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2018-2023 period by applying the Fixed Effect Model. The analysis was carried out using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) in selecting the best model where FEM takes into account time-invariant heterogeneity across companies, effectively controlling for unobserved variables that differ between companies but remain constant over time. The research results show that profitability and inflation have a significant influence on stock price movements, while liquidity and exchange rates do not have a significant influence. The implications of these findings provide a deeper look into the factors influencing share prices in the manufacturing sector, contributing to a better understanding of investment decision-making.
