Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is about the use of [kamoshiremasen] [darou] and [tabun] as epistemic modality. The data this research a gathere by means of questionarys which distributed to third the student of japanese education, education faculty Riau University. This research applaid is descriftiv methode and the main teorys are modality and error analisis.The result of this study indicates that [kamoshiremasen] [darou] and [tabun] are modality that a count for possibility based on logical conclusion from rational theorem. The data in the cates that 60% or most of third year student of the japanese education study program, Riau University tend to more fully understand the leksikal meaning than syntaxtical paterns of [kamoshiremasen] [darou] and [tabun],Keyword: modality, kamoshiremasen, darou, and tabun

Abstract

This study aims to find out the factors of influencing the ability to teach Japanese in Japanese Language Education Program of Faculty of Teacher’s Training and Education of Universitas Riau (FKIP UNRI) students who carried out Teacher Training Program (PPL) at school. This research is a descriptive research where data was obtained through documentation. The population in this study was all students carrying out PPL during 2017/2018 school year totaling 50 people. Research data was collected through assessment documentation and video recording. The data is analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the factors that influence the ability to teach students are the role of supervising teachers, lack of preparation for teaching planning, and limited teaching materials.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the variation of wakamono kotoba on instagram social media especially in response expressions, impressions, and compliments. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using Masakazu's theory of the level of formation of wakamono kotoba and the theory of Harimurti Kridalaksana regarding the process of abreaction with a sociolinguistic approach. The background of this study is that the language used by a person can change and develop mainly due to the existence of social media factors which result in the phenomenon of variations in the form of writing that is different or deviates from the standard form, especially in the language of young Japanese. The results of this study are that from 132 data found there are 7 variations of wakamono kotoba writing for funny vocabulary, 4 variations of writing for serious vocabulary, disgust, and erotic then 9 writing variations for great vocabulary. The meaning of the variation found in wakamono kotoba refers to the form of writing that symbolizes formal or informal form of language. The use of katakana letters on wakamono kotoba means something that gives a more prominent or visible and strong impression compared to just using hiragana letters and the shortening and lengthening of words is the dominant factor in the formation of wakamono kotoba's variations in Instagram social media.Key Words: Phrases, instagram, wakamono kotoba, sosilolinguistics.

Abstract

Abstrak: This study discusses the Shiritori game in learning Japanese vocabulary for students at TIGAMA Vocational School of Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase learning score/value using Shiritori games. The object of this study was the XI class of TIGAMA Vocational School of Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019. This study is a pre-experimental study which is characterized by the absence of a control group. The design used in this study was one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques were carried out by conducting a written test. This study applied two kinds of tests, namely the pretest and posttest. The test consisted of 20 items. On the pretest, the questions available are 15 objective items and 5 essays, while on the posttest questions 10 items were objective and 10 essays. The pretest was given before the treatment is carried out by using the Shiritori game, and the posttest was given after the treatment is carried out. The average value of the pretest obtained by students is 30. It means that there is an increase in the posttest value of 45 to 75. Therefore, there is a significant influence on the level of mastery of vocabulary skills after applying the Shiritori game method. So, it can be concluded that the method of Shiritori games improved the ability to master Japanese vocabulary for students of XI class at TIGAMA Vocational School of Pekanbaru.Keywords: Effectiveness, vocabulary, Shiritori.

Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to discover how the application result and respond of method Cooperative Learning type Group Investigation on students that are participate in dokkai 3 lesson. This research used the experimental method with the form of Pre-Experimental Design. More specifically, researchers used Pre-Experimental Design in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of this research was 31 university students and the research had been done in three meeting. The data collection technique used questionnaire and interview. The application of this method, half of the member of the group was active in this activity. The university students’s response in questionnaire showed, almost all of them (90.3%) aggred that this method were helpful and make them more easy to understand Japanese text. The reason for this are because the student read the Japanese text in group, and they felt less bored when reading long Japanese text. Beside, this method help the student to translate the Japanese text more faster and correctly because they’re doing the translate job together. And then, the students’s response according to interview is most of students became more excited to study by interacting, cooperating, and motivating one to another in a group to do their task.Key Words : Cooperative learning, group investigation, dokkai

Abstract

Abstract: The lack of motivation in learning Kanji was caused by the large number of Kanji that students needed to learn in one meeting. It was also caused by the conventional learning technique that made students feel saturated. This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of applying Kanji puzzle game in increasing the learning outcomes of Kanji subject on Japanese Study Program academic year 2017/2018. This research used weak experiment with the design of pretest-posttest class or one group pre-test post-test. The sample of this research consisted of 32 students of class A from Japanese study program academic year 2017/2018. This research used purposive sampling technique where it was used for particular criteria or purposes. The data were collected by distributing test. The test was divided into pre-test and post-test. After the pre-test and post-test data gathered, then they were processed by using SPSS Version 24 IBM for windows.Based on the data analysis, the average score of pre-test was 67 and the average score for post-test was 84. After applying t-test, it was obtaind that the value of sig (2-tailed) was 0,000 < 0,05. Because the value of sig (2-tailed) was 0,000 smaller than 0,05, it could be concluded that the use of Kanji puzzle game technique can increase students class A learning outcomes in Kanji subject. It proved that Ho hypotesis was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, the use of Kanji puzzle game was effective in increasing Students’ Kanji subject learning outcomes of Japanese Study Program academic year 2017/2018.Key Words: Kanji, Puzzle, The effectiveness.

Abstract

Abstract: This research discuses about Hand’s Gesture in Japanese People’s Communication. On this research, writer using descriptive qualitative method with theory semiotic triangle by Pierce (1839-1914) and theory speaking by Hymes (1962) for speech component. The background of this study is hand’s gesture have many variations in the use of body language learning. The same hand movements sometimes have similarities and differences in the intentions conveyed from the sender and recipient of the message. After collecting data in Lovely Complex and Tada Kimi wo Aishiteru film, writer found 3 types of teburi, it’s finger movements, arm movements, wrist and palm movements. 3 kinds of finger movements, 3 kinds of arm movements, 6 kinds of wrist and palm movements. There are 12 types because Yubi wo Sasu gesture and Watashi gesture have the same movements. Okama gesture and Warau gesture have the same movements too, but the position is different. After analized, hand’s gesture is used to replace verbal messages, emphasize verbal messages, repeat verbal messages, deny verbal messages and complete verbal messages.Key Words: Nonverbal communication, gesture, teburi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyzes about the use of keigo in the concept of uchi-soto appearing on Japanese drama titled conversation Kaseifu No Mita by Kazuhiko Yukawa, which aims to identify and understand more about the situation and use keigo based on the concept of uchi-soto in daily conversation so that no more errors in use it in daily conversation, especially for Japanese learners at the University of Riau.The methodsthat are used in this research is descriptive and data analysis. In analyzing the data, the writer analyzes the use Keigo based uchi-soto situation of the conversation. This study shows that the results of the Japanese people differentiate the attitudes because of awareness of the acts, behave and conduct limitation that committed by a person towards his/her partner  in a conversation by adjusting kinds of language / Japanese politeness level (keigo). Keywords:analysis, sosioliguistic, keigo, concepts, uchi-soto.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed at affecting social factor and situation factor toword the using of maji in Japanese conversation’s sentence. This research used qualitative approach and analyzed by William Labov’s social factor theory and Fishman’s situation factor theory. The subject in this research was the word maji used in Japanese conversation sentences from Japanese dramas called Koinaka and Summer Nude. Data collection’s method was “simak” method and used “simak bebas libat cakap” technic and taking note method. Data analyse’s method was “padan” method or “extralingual padan” method and used “hubung banding menyamakan” technic. The result shows that in social factor, the word maji often used by middle class people in every sector of works, and used by educated people or in process of education. The word maji used by people around adolescent to adult, when the listener around adolescent to elder. The word maji can be used by male or female. In situation factor, the word of maji often be used in informal conversation with various topics. Non-standard language variety often be used in conversation when using maji.Key Words: social factor, situation factor, wakamono kotoba, maji.

Abstract

Abstract: Shuujoshi is particle that show narrator attitude with respect to the associate narrator and event. Shuujoshi gives important role to make conversation become simply natural. Shuujoshi is type of fundamental language expression that are used in human daily activity. This circumstance had made it become interesting in translating process and unique as well. The objective of this research was to describe the translation of ending particle (shuujoshi) from japanese to indonesian language from doraemon comic in japanese language and its translation.The result showed that : 1. There were some of few words that can't be translated according to Shuujoshi translation. 2.The shuujoshi can’t be translated, mean of equivalent can be reached because expression of source language can be used in to target language, but a few word can’t be translated. 3.
