Abstract

Poverty in Indonesia has resulted in many people who still have not achieved their welfare, one of which is in the fulfillment of habitable houses. In order to achieve community welfare through the fulfillment of habitable houses, the government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing held a Self-Help Housing stimulant Assistance program for low-income communities, so as to improve the quality of people's homes to be habitable. To receive this program, there are several stages of implementation that need to be done, ranging from identification of potential beneficiaries to monitoring and evaluation reports. In the approach to the community of prospective beneficiaries, the method of community organization and community development is carried out by empowering the community with a direct approach as an approach to social work techniques that can be done to address the community or group of beneficiaries of macro programs. Several stages of intervention are Assessment, program Planning, Intervention, evaluation and termination stages. The focus of solving the problem is to empower the recipient group to be able to be empowered and independent in following the implementation of the BSPS program from the beginning to the end of the program. The purpose of this empowerment is also considered successful with the increasing enthusiasm of the recipient group community in completing the accountability for the implementation of the BSPS program and following the various stages of coordination and socialization of the BSPS program.

Abstract

Housing development and community empowerment are two crucial pillars in enhancing social welfare in Indonesia. The Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB), launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, aims to provide real-world work experience for students. In the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in North Sumatra Province, the MSIB program offers Social Welfare (Kessos) students the opportunity to engage in the BSPS (Self-Help Housing Assistance) program for five months. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to evaluate the capacity building of Kessos students through the MSIB program. The findings indicate that students acquire technical skills such as project management and social analysis, as well as non-technical skills like work ethics, effective communication, and teamwork. The Community Organization and Community Development (COCD) method used during the internship helps students understand the importance of a participatory approach in working with communities. The MSIB program not only enhances the individual capacities of students but also contributes to curriculum updates at universities and improvements in social welfare in Indonesia. Thus, this program prepares Kessos students to become professional and effective social workers.

Abstract

The objective of this community service project is to implement Islamic spiritual values in children with disabilities who are victims of sexual violence, using social work methods with the hope of healing the trauma they have experienced. The problem statement of this service project is the effectiveness of the therapy used to address the client's trauma. The Islamic spiritual therapy is conducted through the concept of tazkiyah al-nufus, which involves the stages of takhalli, tahalli, and tajalli. The method used in this service project is social work methodology, employing micro-level intervention and mini-project approaches. The intervention process involves stages of engagement, intake, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation over a period of three months, utilizing the Strength Quadrant to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the clients. The results of this service project indicate that the service program has provided positive changes for the clients, although it has not yet achieved maximum results. Clients have begun to show progress such as correctly pronouncing the Arabic alphabet and performing the five daily prayers. This service project offers a deep understanding of the benefits of Islamic spiritual therapy and social work methods in helping clients overcome trauma and psychological disorders, and provides recommendations for the development of future service programs. The innovation in this service project is the use of Islamic therapy combined with social work methods.

Abstract

The program to improve the quality of houses from uninhabitable houses to habitable houses is very beneficial for people who have uninhabitable houses. The quality of residential premises is one of the supporting indicators for improving community welfare. The quality of residential premises will refer to the quality of people's lives in the future. The government will strive to provide all forms of programs that refer to improving the quality of life of Indonesian people.. The program to improve the quality of self-help housing through the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program is an effort by the Ministry of Public Works, Public Housing (PUPR) to improve community welfare. Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) is government financial support for low-income communities to improve the quality of self-help housing. Implementation of the BSPS program in Belawan Bahari Village, Medan Belawan District requires several stages of activities. The pre-program implementation stage is the initial and preparatory stage before implementing the program. The program implementation method used is the Community Organization Community Development (COCD) method where aid recipients are united in the form of a community to proceed to the next stage.

Abstract

A physical, intellectual or mental disability that prevents a person from carrying out activities or interacting with their environment independently is known as a disability. The problems that people with disabilities often face in Indonesia, especially people with low economic conditions, include lack of access to information about the importance of rehabilitation and lack of public facilities that make it easier for people with disabilities to carry out daily activities. Disabled people need wheelchair assistive devices to improve their accessibility and mobility. So there is a goal of this community service as an important effort to help recipients of assistance so they can be verified and receive the assistance. This activity is accompanied by Social Workers from the Medan City Social Service for the Wheelchair Assistance Program which requires verification and validity of data so that the Wheelchair Assistance Program for Disabled People is indexed. in Medan City's Integrated Social Data (DTKS) right on target. This article uses qualitative methods with literature studies and field activities. Pre-implementation of this program involves the stages of identification, application submission, and data verification. The results obtained were that of the 3 disabilities recorded, there were only 2 disabilities registered by DTKS in Medan Helvetia District which were verified and valid from data on requests for wheelchair assistance. This Community Service output also produces information regarding disability assistance which must be indexed in the Integrated Social Data (DTKS) in Medan City.

Abstract

Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 1998 states that social welfare is a system of social life and livelihood, both material and spiritual, which is covered by a sense of safety, decency, inner and outer peace which makes it possible for every citizen to fulfill their physical, spiritual, and spiritual needs. and social matters that are as good as possible for oneself, family and society by upholding human rights and obligations in accordance with Pancasila. Segel and Bruzy (in Kusnadi, 2013: 8) say that social welfare is the prosperous condition of a society which includes health, economic conditions, happiness and quality of life of the people. To encourage welfare for drivers, Gojek Indonesia presents a program that is always held every year. Swadaya is one of the consistent programs presented by Gojek with the aim of reducing partners' operational costs, such as discount vouchers for vehicle maintenance, credit, and assistance with other daily needs, as well as access to financial services such as savings, loans, cheap insurance and partner children's scholarships. . Gojek Swadaya Program, which is an exclusive program to ease the operational burden on driver partners and their families. Launched in 2016, Gojek Swadaya has been used by more than 450 thousand driver partners per month and helps them save up to 15% of operational costs as a partner/driver. Apart from that, the Gojek self-help program helps drivers save more on their daily shopping needs.

Abstract

Mapping of local economic potential needs to be carried out to determine the potential that exists in the area and the human resources it has. Batu Bara Regency is one of the districts in North Sumatra which has potential in the marine sector, such as fish, shrimp, crab, shellfish, and so on. Various marine-based business activities have great potential to be developed in this region. One form of this business is the dried shellfish business in Suka Maju Village, Batu Bara Regency. This dry shellfish business is carried out by around 12 community groups. However, it is very unfortunate, there are several obstacles faced by the community which are the reason why the dried shellfish business has not developed. Among them is that there is no legal entity that protects the business, so the price is according to the agent's request. Second, there is no product packaging, and the business group's lack of knowledge in product marketing. The results of this service are activities in the form of training on product packaging, product marketing, and managing legal entities for businesses.

Abstract

Child adoption is a practice that has long been known in Indonesian culture, including in the city of Medan. This tradition is carried out for various purposes, such as providing protection for children, meeting the needs of couples who do not have children, or other social and economic reasons. Even though Indonesia has regulated adoption procedures through Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection and other implementing regulations, many adoption practices in the field are not officially recorded. This can have a negative impact on adopted children, such as unclear status. This community service program aims to increase the role of social workers in the child adoption process in Medan City. Using a participatory and collaborative approach, this activity involves seven stages: approach, assessment, plan preparation, plan formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and termination. Assistance is provided to help prospective adoptive parents (COTA) understand and undergo legal procedures. The program results show that social worker assistance increases COTA's understanding and confidence in undergoing the adoption process according to regulations. Even though there are obstacles, such as limited access to information, this program proves the important role of social workers in supporting the success of child adoption. It is estimated that collaboration between social workers, Social Services and related parties can strengthen the implementation of legal adoption and provide optimal benefits for children who need protection.
