Abstract

The purpose of learning through picture media and game media is to reduce the number of illiterates in the Indonesian Children's Children's Orphanage. The implementation of this PKL activity starts from September 2021 until December 2021. The time for this activity is carried out for 4 months. The method used in this PKM training is Groupwork. The activity consists of 5 points in the Groupwork stage, namely the Assessment Stage, Planning Stage, Intervention Stage, Evaluation Stage and Termination Stage. The results achieved from the activities based on the 5 stages that have been carried out earlier, it can be seen that there has been a fairly rapid development of children in learning to memorize the alphabet. Efforts to establish a learning environment in accordance with the theory mentioned earlier, the formation of an interactive learning environment using images, videos and through games has succeeded in increasing interest, concentration and children's recognition of letters well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang analisis penggunaan Teknik Multisensori untuk mengatasi gangguan dalam kesulitan membaca pada anak. Modalitas yang sering dipakai adalah visual (penglihatan) tactile (perabaan), kinestetik (gerakan), dan auditory (pendengaran). Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan anak disleksia mendapat sangat suka dan terjadi perubahan untuk hafal membaca abjad pada anak disleksia. Metode Multisensori sebagai Strategi Mengatasi Disleksia Pembelajaran akan lebih kondusif jika melibatkan beberapa alat indera peserta didik. Sehingga metode multisensory dapat membantu anak yang mengalami kesulitan membaca.

Abstract

Kemampuan mengenal huruf merupakan kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki anak sekolah dasar karena dimulai dari kemampuan mengenal huruf maka anak dapat meningkatkan kemampuannya hingga mengeja lalu kemudian membaca. Tentunya membaca merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang sangat penting untuk dipunyai oleh semua orang baik muda maupun tua sebab dengan membaca kita dapat menambah wawasan, membuat otak bekerja dan lain sebagainya. Kemampuan membaca sudah seharusnya ditanamkan sejak anak usia dini sebab membaca di usia dini terbilang cukup efektif untuk membantu perkembangan otak anak. Maka, apabila ditemukan anak usia sekolah dasar yang belum mengenal huruf tentunya hal tersebut menjadi sebuah hal yang tidak lazim dan tidak boleh di normalisasikan. Oleh karena itu diperlukannya cara untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf pada usia anak. Penyelesaian permasalahan anak yang tidak dapat mengenal huruf juga dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode-metode pekerjaan sosial dimulai dari Assesmen hingga Terminasi dengan perencanaan program yang perlu dikreasikan untuk meningkatkan minat pada anak usia sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penulis melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum I sekaligus Kampus Mengajar Mitra USU Angkatan 2 di sekolah SMP NEGERI 27 Medan. Pada kegiatan ini, penulis melihat suatu permasalahan yang terjadi pada siswa/I yaitu kurangnya minat baca. Eksistensi dalam membaca sangat berkurang selama terjadinya covid 19, yang dipengaruhi dari rendahnya minat baca siswa/I. Bahkan, kegiatan sekolah untuk membaca masih tidak juga membangkitkan minat baca siswa/i. Membaca adalah hal yang dibutuhkan bagi siswa/I karena dengan membaca akan semakin meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir, menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan, meningkatkan konsentrasi, meningkatkan daya ingat, dan tentu saja menambah semangat bagi siswa/I dalam menuntut ilmu untuk mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. Dengan terus mengulang bacaan maka siswa/I akan dengan mudah mengerti dan memahami makna dari bacaan tersebut. Klien yang memiliki masalah ini terdiri sekelompok siswa/I yaitu 32 orang siswa kelas 7 di SMP NEGERI 27 MEDAN. Adapun hasil yang diharapkan oleh penulis yaitu agar para siswa/I dapat membiasakan diri dengan membaca buku.

Abstract

Reading from an early age is considered unimportant and the influence of technology makes children's lack of interest in reading, therefore the importance of cultivating children's interest in reading in order to train children's thinking skills from an early age. Practice using group intervention methods in general began to intervene with students of SD Negeri 060831 Kota Medan, starting from the engagement stage to the termination stage. Some answers from students about things that make a lack of interest in reading are the influence of technology and lack of attention from parents in training students to be fluent in reading. From these answers, practitioners decided to create a literacy program whose activities could be carried out in the classroom and school library. From the program that has been run, it can be said to be successful because students already have a high interest and are trained to be fluent in reading

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mencari alternatif upaya meningkatkan minat baca siswa siswi sekolah dasar di SD Negeri 060932. Minat baca merupakan suatu pengaruh yang besar bagi siswa siswi SD Negeri 060932 . Meningkatkan minat baca siswa sekolah dasar menjadi tanggung jawab bersama, antara siswa, guru maupun orang tua. Rendahnya minat baca siswa di sekolah dasar menjadi salah satu hambatan, kurangnya keinginan dan kemauan dari siswa itu sendiri, walaupun guru juga mengharuskan siswa untuk membaca buku saat pembelajarn yang diajarkan kepada siswa. Dalam meningkatkan minat baca siswa sekolah dasar sebaiknya siswa siswi diberi dukungan agar minat baca ini muncul dari diri siswa itu sendiri dan siswa dikenalkan dengan bahan bacaan supaya siswa tersebut terbiasa membaca, maka dari itu kebiasaan membaca siswa dimasa duduk di bangku sekolah dasar akan menumbuhkan minat baca yang tinggi hingga siswa tumbuh dewasa.

Abstract

The ability to read in children is an ability that is very necessary because reading ability is an initial ability that greatly influences skills, where if reading ability is not strong then other skills will also be difficult to manage. So that this is a matter that really needs to be considered by educators or the board of teachers and even parents to find ways to overcome the problems of children who have difficulty reading. In this case creativity is needed as well as inspiration for educators to maximize innovative efforts so that children can improve their reading skills. So an innovative program was formed which is expected to achieve a goal in the form of increasing reading skills in children. The program in question is the Mobile Teaching program which is an educator program in which an educator goes directly to help students understand the lesson. The Mobile Teaching technique is a technique that is carried out by means of educators trying to teach more closely to students, and going around to find out the situation of the class and students while studying. With these efforts it is hoped that children can feel more intense in learning with educators so that they can ask questions directly without hesitation to educators. This is expected to increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities. In solving this problem the program implementation method is also collaborated with social work methods starting from the assessment stage to termination.

Abstract

Elementary school education can strive to educate and print the life of a nation that is pious, loves and is proud of the nation and country, is skilled, creative, has good character and manners. This education has a role in building the knowledge base of students to be used in further education. As a place for children to study, children also need to be taught manners and manners or good moral attitudes, because manners are very important for each individual in everyday life. Moral is a teaching about good and bad deeds and behavior, morals that everyone has. Moral can be divided into two, namely good morals and bad morals. Seeing the situation where there are still many students who have not used the 4 magic words properly, it is necessary to apply the four magic words namely sorry, please, thank you, and excuse me to students. The target to be achieved is to maximize and increase the use of the four magic words in the school environment for both peers and teachers or those who are older. This was also done using the casework method by Skidmore, Thackeray and Farley. The results obtained from this activity are progress in using the four magic words well with friends in the school environment.

Abstract

After the passing of the Covid-19 Pandemic, it gave new impacts and challenges in the world of teaching and learning, especially for grade 5 students at SD 067090 Halat who experienced a decrease in their interest in learning. The main factor for this to happen is distance learning which makes students spend more time with smartphones. The impact after the pandemic was over, students became lazy to study at school. This decrease in learning interest affects the final grades of students later. This cannot be allowed to continue because it will not only affect the final grades of students but will also affect the development of students' traits, attitudes and ethics. The problem that exists in grade 5 students at SD Negeri 067090 is the decline in student interest in learning. The monotonous class atmosphere with only material explanations and doing assignments is one of the reasons students feel bored studying in class. Team Games Tournament is a learning procedure that provides opportunities for groups to compete with other groups so that students are passionate about learning. The system applied in this method emphasizes games (games) as learning activities that aim to spur the motivation and spirit of competition in students both physically and mentally with predetermined rules so as to make students enthusiastic during the learning process.

Abstract

Field Work Practice is a manifestation of students in applying the knowledge gained when attending lectures so that it aims to improve students' skills in developing mindsets, expressing ideas, and gaining insights to become a skilled and qualified workforce. Field Work Practice (PKL) is also a form of community service in accordance with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Community service carried out in the field of education is a process that aims to advance the welfare of the community in accordance with Law No. 10 of 2019 concerning Social Welfare. Social intervention methods in individuals are basically related to efforts to improve or improve the social functioning of individuals. Practice follows one of the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs, namely the Teaching Campus Program. In this community service activity, the practice carries out its service at UPT SD Negeri 060933. The practice of paying attention to the needs of the school is an innovative activity in improving communication between children and parents. Practice carrying out mini projects as a process of analyzing and solving client problems. If the mini project is successful, the needs of students will be achieved.
