Abstract

Food waste in urban areas is an endless problem, considering that waste will continue to exist. The technique of managing waste to become an alternative feed for catfish is one of the steps to overcome the problem of waste and at the same time becomes an alternative fish feed solution for fish cultivators. The purpose of this research is to process food waste into fish feed. The method used in writing this article is literature review. Based on the results of the literature review and the author's analysis, it can be concluded that food ingredients that can be processed into catfish feed are food waste by utilizing fermentation or by mixing or formulated with other raw materials such as (fish meal, magot, tofu dregs, and fine bran). The fermentation process can use fishery products sold in the market, including (EM4, Boster, etc) which are mixed with molasses.

Abstract

Rasbora fish is a local Indonesian fish whose population has decreased. In the Province of Bali this fish is called the Nyalian fish and no one has cultivated this fish. Nyalian fish in Bali Province are used as consumption fish and have potential as freshwater ornamental fish. Catching Nyalian fish continuously can cause this fish decrease in population and can cause extinction. Nyalian fish conservation can be done by domestication and adapting fish caught from their natural habitat to aquaculture aquarium, then used in aquaculture activities and ensuring continuity of numbers and avoiding extinction. During the domestication process, the Nyalian fish will experience stress due to changes in their habitat. Stress in fish can be shown by a drastically darker body condition. Parts of the body that blacken or show a darker color are due to the activity of melanin as an active role in it. The Tyrosinase gene is one of the genes responsible for coding pigment patterns. The TYR gene has an important role in instructing the formation of the enzyme Tyrosinase.

Abstract

Koi fish (Cyprinus carpio) is an ornamental fish that has a beautiful body shape and color, so it has high economic value. Indicators of beauty in ornamental fish can be seen in the brilliant color, physical shape and completeness, behavior, and health conditions or stamina. These koi fish are often used as aquarium decorations and are art for consumption enthusiasts. The community demands the beauty of Koi fish, so farmers need to maintain the color of ornamental fish by providing feed that contains color pigments. Carotenoids are the main natural components that make color pigments, positively affecting red and orange colors. Carotenoids can come from spirulina, which contains phycocyanin, chlorophyll-a, and carotene. Carotene is composed of xantophyll (37%), carotene (28%), and zeaxanthin (17%). Providing a source of color pigment in fish feed is one of the efforts to get a bright color evenly distributed in fish. Feeding containing 8% spirulina was effective in increasing color pigmentation in the red swordtail (Xiphophorus helleri). The addition of 1.2% spirulina flour to artificial feed significantly increased color intensity and was the highest result in increasing color intensity of Koi fish.

Abstract

Mangrove forest ecosystems are vegetative communities found in tropical and subtropical estuaries and shallow coastal lagoons. They are mostly composed of several types of mangrove trees that can thrive in muddy beach tidal zones. The science and art of remote sensing involves analyzing data collected using instruments without coming into direct touch with the thing, location, or phenomena being researched in order to learn more about it. Sentinel-2A is a medium spatial resolution satellite image with a wide swath that can be used for studies on land cover monitoring, including vegetation, soil, and water, as well as water networks and coastal areas. It revisits the same location every 5 days, as opposed to Landsat's 16-day interval. The research findings indicate that there was an increase in the development of mangrove density between 2019 and 2023. Specifically, the total area of mangrove forests rose from 118.59 Ha in 2019 to 145.44 Ha in 2023. These developments are displayed in the table below

Abstract

Data from the “Badan Pusat Statistik” states that the production of aloe vera plants in Blahbatuh district, Gianyar regency, is 8644 kg with a harvested area of 2200 m2 in 2019. Aloe vera is not only cultivated on agricultural land, but also becomes a yard plant in the Blahbatuh community, especially Central Banjar. This plant has been known to have bioactive content and antioxidant power, so it has economic use value in the fields of pharmaceuticals, beauty and health. However, knowledge and skills about this potential are still very minimal in the people of Central Banjar. Therefore, this PKM program aims to empower the PKK Women's Group of Central Banjar, Blahbatuh Village, Gianyar, through counselling activities on the importance of skin health and counselling on the benefits of aloe vera plants, as well as training in the skill of making solid soap with aloe vera basics. The program implementation method includes optimization activities on how solid soap-making works before the implementation of training, which is followed by counselling, training and practices of making aloe vera solid soap. The evaluation of the success of the PKM program will be assessed based on the pre-test and post-test values as well as the success of making solid soap independently. The results of the implementation of this program show the enthusiasm and active participation of all participants during the activity. The evaluation of comprehension based on pre-test and post-test scores showed that 8 participants experienced an increase in comprehension with an increase in the average value of participants' overall knowledge by 36.4%. As many as 3 out of 10 partners have also succeeded in making solid soap on the first try. Further assistance is still needed to increase the success of soap making and marketing of soap products so that they can become skills that support the local community's economy.
