Abstract

The study aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of assigning students to work in groups using Zoom breakout rooms to enhance their speaking self-efficacy to participate in active learning activities in an online learning context. Thirty-six students of Diploma 3 of the Accounting Program attending English for Accounting course were purposively selected as the respondents of the study. The data were collected using a three-part questionnaire distributed electronically using Google Forms. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were measured using Pearson correlation and Cronbach Alpha. The students reported that their sources of English-speaking self-efficacy were enhanced as they had opportunities to develop both mastery and vicarious experience of English speaking, received social persuasion in the form of encouragement and motivation from one another, and experienced lower speaking anxiety. The teaching strategy enhanced the students’ English-speaking self-efficacy to participate in active learning activities to a moderate level. From being quiet and passive, they gradually transformed into active learners who could ask questions, chair discussions, answer questions, defend arguments, etc.  It can be concluded that a group work in Zoom breakout rooms facilitated active learning activities as the students experienced opportunities to enhance English-speaking self-efficacy. There was a significant positive correlation between the use of group work in Zoom breakout rooms and students’ self-efficacy to participate in active learning activities. Implications and limitations of this current study are presented, and suggestions for further studies are offered.

However, storytellers who master storytelling techniques continue to limit efforts to construct fairytale dwellings. Community service aims to educate and promote the safety of botanicals and herbal products by instructing storyteller cadres in the art of storytelling. The method includes instruction in storytelling technique, the assignment of autonomous tasks, and storytelling practice in front of children. Ten individuals participated in the training alongside the Community Work Training Centre (BLKK). The participants' perfect attendance at all three training sessions demonstrated extremely high levels of enthusiasm and zeal. It has been shown that storytellers who have received comprehensive training can tell children stories that they must be cautious when consuming herbs and herbal beverages to ensure their efficacy and safety. Consequently, community service can be rendered by assisting in forming Fairytale House Studios, which can become one of the tourist destinations in tourist villages based on each region's local expertise.

Abstract

The Teacher Activity Group (KKG) for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Demak Regency experienced difficulties in developing good and fun methods, techniques, and strategies in teaching their students as an effort to improve these pedagogical skills. Therefore, we need a method that can solve this problem. One interesting alternative method is the storytelling method. The storytelling method in the teaching process in the classroom can develop the imagination and creativity of not only students but also teachers who teach. The Regional Development Community Service Program (PkM-PK) aims to aid Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Teacher Activity Group (KKG) teachers to be able to develop their pedagogic skills through the storytelling method so that teaching and learning to their students can run more innovatively and imaginative which in the end is able to increase students' understanding in order to fulfill the learning objectives. This program is carried out using intensive classical mentoring methods for teachers by providing examples and practices so that the material can be understood well and can be practiced by participants on how to tell good and fun stories to MI students.

Abstract

One type of unlawful act that also violates human rights is violence. Violence in this context is any act of abuse of physical strength, either with or without the use of violence, which violates the law, endangers the body, soul, and freedom of people, including making them unconscious or powerless. Women are often victims of abuse, especially sexual violence in the household. This service program aims to provide explanations regarding cases of domestic sexual violence and legal protection in Indonesia. Its implementation uses an empirical juridical method, which in this case relates to the application or enforcement of normative legal requirements and is associated with every legal event that occurs in society. Posters aimed at the community were distributed as part of this activity. From this community service program, it was found that people are increasingly understanding cases of sexual violence and how the rules and implementation of legal protection are in Indonesia.

Abstract

Technology, pedagogy, and subject knowledge are all integrated into the teaching framework known as TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge). This framework has not been widely used by English teachers in Indonesia to help pupils learn English. This study intends to investigate, evaluate, and thoroughly discuss English language education programs within the context of TPACK. The descriptive qualitative method was employed in this study. The information was gathered through a review of the literature on English language instruction utilizing the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) paradigm. The collected literature data were then thoroughly compared, assessed, critiqued, and concluded after thorough analysis. The information demonstrates reflective programs for teaching English as a second language that combine and integrate technology, pedagogy, and content, including methods and activities for learning English as well as methods for assessing language proficiency. The findings of this study are anticipated to enhance the general knowledge and instructional abilities of Indonesian teachers, particularly those who teach English.
