Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and continued breastfeeding with complementary foods up to 2 years are emphasized by the World Health Organization. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, maternal concerns about virus transmission through breastfeeding have surfaced. Despite these concerns, breastfeeding remains the primary recommendation due to its manifold health benefits. This research, conducted in Tegal City's Margadana sub-district, investigates factors influencing exclusive breastfeeding success among mothers recovered from COVID-19. Using an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach, the study explores the link between COVID-19 symptoms in infants and exclusive breastfeeding success, revealing a significant correlation (p-value=0.042). Conversely, breast milk production shows no significant association with exclusive breastfeeding success (p-value=0.144). Notably, spousal and family support emerges as pivotal, exhibiting a significant association with exclusive breastfeeding success (p-value=0.003). However, there is no significant relationship between healthcare provider support during breastfeeding and adherence to 6-month exclusive breastfeeding (p-value=0.456). The findings underscore the importance of breastfeeding during post-COVID-19, balancing potential virus transmission risks against the established breastfeeding health benefits. The study concludes by advocating for further research to comprehensively understand and address complexities of exclusive breastfeeding in the post-COVID-19 context, offering insights for healthcare practitioners and policymakers.

Method: This type of research is quantitative analytical research with an observational approach using a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were teenagers in Tegal City with a total sample of 288 taken randomly. Test the analysis using the Chi-square test. Abstract

Class XII adolescents are usually preoccupied with learning in preparation for their graduation exams and college entrance exams. These hectic activities can cause aggravation if adolescents cannot deal with them well. Deep aggravation can lead to emotions. Emotional maturity is very important for adolescents in dealing with a problem. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the emotional maturity of adolescents at SMU N 2 Tegal Regency. This research was an observational analytic study with cross sectional design. The study population was class XII MIPA students totaling 178 and a sample of 51 students was taken by cluster sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure emotional maturity and its causative factors including self-acceptance, interaction with peers, environmental assessment of adolescents and adolescent parenting. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately. The results showed that there was a relationship between self-acceptance attitude and emotional maturity with a pvalue: 0.038 and OR: 8.7. The percentage of students with an attitude of accepting themselves has a good emotional maturity that is more than the percentage of students who have an attitude of not accepting themselves. But there is no relationship between interaction with peers (pvalue: 0.276), assessment of the adolescent environment (pvalue: 0.657) and adolescent parenting (pvalue: 0.352) to emotional maturity. It can be concluded that the attitude of acceptance in adolescents affects the emotional maturity of adolescents so that efforts need to be made by schools and parents to improve the attitude of adolescent acceptance.

Abstract

Speech Delay is a condition where the quality of children's speech development is not appropriate or is below their age, children have difficulty expressing their feelings and lack of vocabulary mastery in children. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, it is explained that the toddler period is an important period in the growth and development of the next child, speech and language delays (Speech Delay) in Indonesia as much as 5%-10% in preschool children. Speech Delay is estimated to occur by several factors, namely intelligence, language use, speech style/model imitated, family relationships, health, genetics, physical disability, neurological malfunctions, gender, maternal education, socioeconomic status, family function, and number of children. This study aims to determine the effect and risk of speech delay in children with a history of being born with normal weight and those born with abnormal weight. By knowing the risk factors for speech delay in children, it is hoped that prevention efforts can be made so as to reduce the incidence of speech delay in children in the community. This type of research is analytic observational using a cross-sectional design, with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were parents who had children aged 2-5 years. The sample in this study were parents who had children aged 2-5 years experiencing speech delay disorders and who did not experience speech disorders as controls. Selection of research subjects using purposive sampling. The analysis test used was chis square test. Quantitative research data collection was carried out by filling out questionnaires through questionnaires and google form. Research results shows there is a relationship between birth weight and the incidence of speech delay (p value=0.045). The results of the OR calculation show that respondents who have a history of birth weight <2500 grams and > 4000 grams are at risk of 2.286 experiencing speech delay in children compared to respondents who have a history of birth weight 2500gram - 4000gram.

Abstract

Introduction: Speech delay is one of the most common developmental disorders in children and may adversely affect communication skills, academic performance, and social development if not identified and addressed early. Environmental factors, including language stimulation, social interaction, and parental involvement, are considered important determinants of speech development. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between environmental factors and maternal characteristics and the occurrence of speech delay in children. Methods: An analytic case-control study was conducted involving parents of children aged 2–6 years with speech delay (case group) and without speech delay (control group). Independent variables included language stimulation, communication and social interaction, gadget use, and maternal characteristics, while speech delay served as the dependent variable. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression with the enter method. Results: Language stimulation and communication and social interaction were significantly associated with speech delay, whereas gadget use showed no significant independent association. However, logistic regression analysis demonstrated that all variables collectively contributed to the occurrence of speech delay. Conclusion: Although gadget use alone was not directly associated with speech delay, its interaction with inadequate language stimulation, communication, and social interaction may contribute to speech delay in children. Early interventions focusing on supportive environmental factors are therefore essential.
