Abstract

The lack of learning resources that facilitate students in the Secondary School Mathematics Capita Selecta course served as the background for this study. This research aimed to investigate the challenges faced by prospective mathematics teachers in the Secondary School Mathematics Capita Selecta course at Universitas Adzkia. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach, this study involved 18 students and course instructors as participants. Data were collected through surveys and structured interviews, then analyzed to identify key themes related to learning difficulties. The results showed that students experienced difficulties in understanding abstract mathematical concepts, connecting theory with practical applications, and utilizing available learning resources. This condition indicates the need to develop systematic, varied, and interactive learning materials to improve student comprehension and motivation. This study also revealed that the integration of technology in learning can help students understand complex topics and create a more engaging learning environment. Therefore, the development of well-organized and technology-integrated learning resources is crucial to improve the effectiveness of the course and help students overcome learning obstacles. Based on these findings, it was concluded that the development of innovative and technology-integrated learning resources plays an important role in improving the quality of learning in the Secondary School Mathematics Capita Selecta course. Further research is recommended to explore more advanced technological interventions and collaborative learning techniques to enhance instructional delivery and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang: 1. Bagaimana kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Olimpiade Matematika menggunakan model Individual learning? (2) Bagaimana kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Olimpiade Matematika menggunakan model Cooperative learning? (3) Apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Olimpiade Matematika menggunakan model Individual learning dan Cooperative Learning?. Jenis penelitian yang dilaksanakan adalah penelitian quasi experimental design (eksperimen semu). Penelitian melibatkan dua kelompok eksperimen, yakni kelompok eksperimen I yang diberikan perlakuan individual learning dan kelompok eksperimen II yang diberikan perlakuan cooperative learning. Desain penelitian yang dilaksanakan yaitu posttest-only control design. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Bukittinggi dan SMP Padang Gelugur. Populasi dalam kegiatan penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler tahun pembelajaran 2022/2023. Subjek yang akan diteliti diambil dari seluruh populasi dalam penelitian ini. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan soal olimpiade. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal olimpiade matematika dengan metode individual learning tergolong kategori cukup dengan rata-rata sebesar 67,13, (2) Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal olimpiade matematika dengan metode cooperative learning tergolong kategori cukup dengan rata-rata sebesar 52,60, (3) terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa antara model Individual learning dengan metode Cooperative Learning. Apabila dilihat dari rata-rata kelas, didapatkan hasil belajar individual learning lebih baik dari pada cooperative learning

Abstract

This research is motivated by the weak mathematical communication skills of students in participating in mathematics learning. It is known that during the learning process, students are unable to express their opinions, and their mathematical communication skills are weak, requiring appropriate learning models to improve students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the auditory intellectual repetition learning model on students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics, particularly in the statistics material in class X SMAN 14 Padang. The type of research is Quasi Experiment (quasi-experiment), and the research design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The experimental class was treated using the auditory intellectual repetition learning model, while the control class used conventional methods. Based on the research results, the Mann Whitney U test analysis showed a value of 0.001 < 0.005. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which reads “there is a significant influence of the learning model on students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics subjects in statistics material in class X SMAN 14 Padang.”

Abstract

Peralihan pembelajaran dalam bentuk daring menyisakan beberapa permaslaahan dalam implementasi di sekolah kuhusnya sekolah dasar. Berlanakan hal tersebut maka dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat guna menambah keyerampilan guru dalam melaksanakan blanded learning. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan yaitu perencanaan. Pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan minat dan keterampilan guru dalam melaksakan pembelajaran daring, meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam mendesain pembelajran yang menyenangkan dan memudahkan guru dalam pelaksanaan

Abstract

This literature research examines the concept of self-efficacy in technology-integrated mathematics learning and its impact on student achievement. Self-efficacy, a person's confidence in completing a task or achieving a result, is closely related to mathematical achievement, especially with the use of technology as a learning tool. Students with high self-efficacy tend to be more accomplished, motivated, and committed to technology-based learning. Strategies to increase student self-efficacy include constructive feedback via digital platforms, student-focused, technology-based learning approaches, and the application of real-life relevant tasks using simulations and technology applications. This strategy reinforces students' confidence in their math skills, motivating learning in a digital environment. The role of parents is also important, where their support and positive expectations, channelled through technology, increase students' self-efficacy. Parents' perceptions of the integration of technology in schools have a direct impact on students' self-efficacy, affirming the need for cooperation between schools, technology, and parents in mathematics education. Based on the findings, education practitioners are advised to integrate technology, provide supportive feedback, implement technology-based learning strategies, and collaborate schools with parents using digital platforms. In conclusion, a holistic approach involving self-efficacy, multi-stakeholder engagement, and technology integration is necessary for the success of mathematics education.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the challenges of integrating technology into mathematics learning, as well as the lack of teacher competence and student motivation in this regard. The methods used included identifying target schools, developing training materials, conducting interactive GeoGebra training, and evaluation and monitoring. The results showed that GeoGebra AR training effectively improved students' understanding and teachers' competence. Therefore, it can be concluded that this program succeeded in improving the quality of mathematics learning at SMAN 10 Sijunjung. Suggestions for the future are to conduct further research on the effectiveness of the program and expand the reach of training for teachers in other regions.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is often perceived as monotonous and challenging to comprehend. This community service aims to introduce GeoGebra as a technological transformation that can make the mathematics learning process more engaging. Through a questionnaire approach filled out by students, it was found that the majority of participants felt more interested and motivated to learn mathematics with GeoGebra. They acknowledged gaining a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and felt more confident in solving problems. Moreover, GeoGebra offers a new perspective on mathematics and encourages independent learning. In conclusion, GeoGebra holds significant potential in altering students' perceptions of mathematics, making it appear more enjoyable and understandable

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted at MAS Yati to enhance education quality through training on Augmented Reality (AR) technology, development of interactive learning media, and implementation of innovative teaching methods. The training equipped educators and students with technical skills to utilize AR for creating engaging, contextual, and applicative learning experiences. The results showed an improvement in understanding and skills among both educators and students, expected to positively impact the learning process at MAS Yati. This activity was supported by Universitas Adzkia and MAS Yati through facilities and various other forms of assistance. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di MAS Yati untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan melalui pelatihan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR), pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif, dan penerapan metode pembelajaran inovatif. Pelatihan ini membekali pendidik dan peserta didik dengan keterampilan teknis dalam memanfaatkan AR untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang menarik, kontekstual, dan aplikatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan, baik dari pendidik maupun peserta didik, yang diharapkan memberikan dampak positif bagi proses pembelajaran di MAS Yati. Kegiatan ini didukung oleh Universitas Adzkia dan MAS Yati melalui penyediaan fasilitas dan bantuan lainnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang hasil belajar matematika siswa setelah menggunakan pendekatan RME. dan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan RME yang mendukung hasil belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data dengan metode studi pustaka atau studi literatur. Sumber data pada penelitin ini yaitu 10 artikel ilmiah yang telah diakses dari beberapa situs yaitu artikel  ilmiah tentang pengaruh pendekatan RME terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Berdasarkan hasil kajian beberapa literatur dengan beberapa artikel ilmiah yang telah diakses maka penulis memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pendekatan RME memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Realistic Mathematic Education (RME)  ini bisa menjadi pertimbangan oleh guru untuk membangkitkan kembali semangat belajar peserta didik sehingga kompetensi belajarnya juga akan meningkat terutama di zaman seperti sekarang ini.

Abstract

This research is motivated by several problems, namely: Teachers are less creative in conducting the online learning process, student learning outcomes are not optimal, students are less independent in the learning process,Model Blended Learning in integrated thematic learning has not been applied optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine student learning outcomes in terms of student learning independence by using thelearning model Blended Learning in integrated thematic learning subjects. The method used in this research was Quasi Experimental Design, the design of this study is Posttest Only Control Group Design. The results of this study are seen from the results of hypothesis testing with t-test and show tcount= 4,557 and ttable= 2,026 with dk = 37 (n1 + n2 – 2 = 20 + 19 – 2 = 37) and a significant level of 5%. Based on the t-test> t-table (4.557>2.026). So it can be concluded there is a significant effect of using themodel Blended Learning on integrated thematic learning outcomes in terms of student learning independence.
