Abstract

This study was conducted to identify and analyze the importance of the role played by the younger generation in Kadungrembug Village's agricultural development to maintain food security and other fields relevant to agriculture. This research uses a descriptive qualitative analysis method. Data was predominantly obtained from primary data. most of them came from local residents aged 16-30 years and worked as farmers and non-farmers as well as village government officials. The results of this study indicate that the agricultural development of Kadungrembug Village has not been fully successful, even though there are many advanced technologies for managing rice fields. So the welfare of farmers is still not felt by Kadungrembug Village farmers. The role played by the younger generation towards Kadungrembug Village's agriculture has not been maximized due to the lack of awareness and literacy of the younger generation on the importance of loving domestic products. This can be seen from how often they use or consume local products such as tubers, local rice, and secondary crops. So, the corresponding suggestion is that the local Karang Taruna can get opportunities in various village forums, especially in empowerment and agriculture forums.

Abstract

Research Originality: Halal cosmetics segmentation requires detailed analysis to enable stakeholders from the industry sector to optimize marketing and sales. The findings of this study are interesting, the market opportunity specifically for women is not only in consumption volume but also production, especially with market segmentation among millennials and Gen Z.Research Objectives: This research aims to determine the simultaneous and partial effects of halal labeling, product quality, religiosity, and online consumer reviews on purchasing decisions regarding halal cosmetic products among female and male consumersResearch Methods: This research employed an online survey method with 203 respondents. It also employed the SEM-PLS to evaluate models and validate hypotheses, and Multi-Group Analysis (MGA), which is employed to determine the gender effect's position on the hypotheses.Empirical Results: The results with the SEM-PLS method show that product quality, online consumer reviews, and religiosity satisfactorily influence purchasing decisions, this is not the case with the halal label. It seems that online consumer reviews are more suitable for male consumers. Appearance and persuasive factors are more important for male consumers who value rational factors compared to female consumers.Implications: The findings of this research are significant due to the comparison drawn between male and female consumers. Such a comparison aids practitioners and business professionals in effectively delineating market demands and preferences. When developing halal cosmetic products, manufacturers must consider not only the product's sales potential but also its efficacy and potential side effects upon usage.JEL Classification: M5, M10, M21How to Cite:Yudha, A.T.R.C., Zidna, R.R & Febriyanti, N. Abstract

Abstract

The stretching development of the global halal industry, including Indonesia, continues to receive consumers' attention. Among the many sectors that attract consumers' interest is cosmetics, especially with a halal label; product quality supported by promotions by public figures continues to encourage consumers' desire to use halal cosmetics. This study aims to confirm the influence of millennial consumer behavior on purchasing decisions for halal cosmetic products. A random confirmation process of the respondents accompanies this quantitative research method. There were 120 respondents who were dominated by women millennials, with the SmartPLS test tool and a Likert scale of degree 4. The research results were among the four independent variables. Halal labels and sales services had no effect, while product quality and consumer ratings affected purchasing decisions for halal cosmetics. At the confirmation level, it is known that halal labels and sales services get respondents' attention; even without knowledge about them, they immediately buy products because of brands, influencers, and friend recommendations. So, the halal label and sales service does not have a significant effect; instead, it is an attitude of 'ignorance' and is more due to brand or influencer education, as previously stated.

Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to determine the partial influence of service quality and matching algorithm on the satisfaction of female muslim (muslimah) student customers using Gocar services in Surabaya. The research aims to investigate the effect of these two variables. The selection of a ride-hailing service catering to Muslimah-friendly preferences in Surabaya is driven by the increasing demand for such specialized services that are satisfy and safe for Muslimah. Method: Data for this research were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 muslimah students using Gocar services in Surabaya as the research sample. Surabaya was chosen due to the high demand of this service compared to most other cities in Indonesia. The mixed-method approach involved quantitative analyses such as validity and reliability tests, classic assumption tests, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. Additionally, qualitative data from the interviews were analyzed to provide a comprehensive understanding of customer experiences. Results: The result is both service quality and matching algorithm have a positive impact on customer satisfaction, both individually and simultaneously. However, some criticisms were identified, such as excessive interaction from drivers that made customers uncomfortable and long waiting times for pick-up due to distant driver locations. Conclusion and suggestion: Achieving customer satisfaction is crucial for any company, including Gojek, as the provider of Gocar services. To address customer satisfaction issues, Gojek should provide training on appropriate customer interactions for drivers and improve the matching algorithm to ensure closer driver-customer proximity without relying solely on Gocar instant points.
