Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's strategies in enhancing teacher professionalism at SD Negeri 2 Lut Tawar, focusing on the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of strategies. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, allowing for in-depth exploration of the principal's managerial policies and practices. Data collection techniques include interviews with the principal and teachers, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that in strategy formulation, the principal emphasizes the importance of leadership by example and discipline, involving teachers in discussions, and identifying relevant technological needs for learning. In strategy implementation, the principal assigns tasks based on teachers' competencies and integrates technology into the teaching-learning process. A reward and punishment system is also applied to motivate teachers to improve their performance. Furthermore, strategy evaluation is conducted regularly through classroom observations, evaluation meetings, and gathering feedback from students and parents. The evaluation results are used to adjust strategies and ensure the relevance of policies to the school's needs. This evaluative approach fosters continuous improvement and consistent development of teacher professionalism. The study concludes that a combination of participatory formulation, appropriate strategy implementation, and measurable evaluation creates a conducive environment for improving teacher professionalism. The implications of this research provide input for educational departments, principals, and teachers in developing more effective school management.

Abstract

The school literacy movement (SLM) is more than just reading and writing but includes thinking skills according to stages and literacy components. SLM aims to develop student ethics through the development of a literacy ecosystem, so that students become lifelong learners. But the problem is difficulty listening and telling stories longer, difficulty understanding the intent and purpose of SLM. This study aims to: (1) describe planning, (2) describe implementation, (3) describe the evaluation of the implementation of the school literacy movement (SLM) policy oriented to computer-based national assessment in elementary school students in Bireuen Regency. This research is a field study using a qualitative approach conducted at SD 4 in Bireuen Regency. The data was collected through interviews, and observation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction and data presentation. The results showed that: (1) Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement policy implementation planning: (a) goal and target planning, (b) problem identification, (c) stakeholder identification, (d) resources and budget, (e) strategy, (f) monitoring and evaluation, (g) improvement and learning, (h) problem formulation, (i) recommendations, (j) result monitoring, (k) performance evaluation, (l) Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement policy implementation. (2) Implementation of Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement policy: (a) allocating natural resources and human resources, (b) hardware and software, (c) technological infrastructure, (d) educational content, (e) training and professional development, (f) coaching and supervision, (g) administration and reporting, (h) communication and awareness, (i) research evaluation and budget, (j) awards and recognition, (l) ensuring data security and privacy,  (k) Stakeholder involvement, (l) Achievement of targets in implementation, (m) Quality in implementation, (n) communication and coordination in implementation. (3) Evaluation of Computer-based National Assessment-oriented School Literacy Movement Implementation for Elementary School Students in Bireuen District, which are the effectiveness of policy implementation, efficient policy implementation, satisfactory policy implementation, equality and equity of implementation, student response to implementation and accuracy of policy implementation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the management of extracurricular activities in improving the quality of schools at the SMP level in Bireuen Regency. The approach to this study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the study indicate that the planning of extracurricular activities initiated by the UPTD SMP Negeri Bireuen Regency has been implemented well with planning indicators carried out according to targets and objectives. The schedule, time, teacher supervisor and budget/cost of extracurricular activities are also systematically arranged according to the objectives of the extracurricular activity work program. In the organizational process at the UPTD SMP Negeri Bireuen Regency, several components are involved in the management of the extracurricular organizational structure which function to facilitate each division of tasks and train the responsibility of each member. The parties involved in the organizational process at the UPTD SMP Negeri Bireuen Regency are several people, namely the Principal, Vice Principal for Student Affairs, As for the implementation of extracurricular activities, it is held by the vice principal for student affairs under the supervision of the principal. The infrastructure to support the activities is complete and adequate so that in implementing it there are almost no obstacles. For supervisors, this can be in the form of evaluations carried out by various institutions, supervision of extracurricular activities at the UPTD SMP Negeri Bireuen Regency is carried out continuously and sustainably. Every week the supervising teacher submits a report to the extracurricular coordinator.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the principal's academic supervision in realizing teacher professionalism at Jeumpa District Elementary School, Bireuen Regency. This research approach uses a descriptive qualitative research method. With data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the study indicate that the planning of Academic Supervision in this School carried out by the principal is scheduled according to their respective fields of study so that all teachers who teach at the School are supervised by the principal. The principal in carrying out supervision activities uses individual supervision techniques. Individual techniques are the implementation of supervision that is only shown to one teacher, supervision activities do not apply to two or more teachers. The evaluation carried out by the principal with the evaluation can be feedback to the principal on the teacher's performance in delivering learning to students, therefore the success of a learning process is largely determined by the teacher.

Abstract

This research aims to find out 1. To analyze the academic supervision planning of school principals based on the grow model coaching to improve the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Baktiya sub-district, North Aceh. 2. To analyze the implementation of school principal academic supervision based on the grow model coaching to improve the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Baktiya sub-district, North Aceh.3. To analyze the evaluation or follow-up of the principal's academic supervision based on the Grow model coaching in improving the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in Baktiya sub-district, North Aceh. This research method uses qualitative with a descriptive approach. Place and time of research at SD Negeri 5 and SD Negeri 6 Baktiya Barat and time in July 2024 at SD Negeri 5 and SD Negeri 6 Baktiya Barat. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques include reduction, display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Research results: 1) results of program evaluation analysis and evaluation of the implementation of previous year's supervision as well as follow-up on supervision results. The madrasah head's academic supervision planning is prepared at the beginning of the school year, by first identifying problems, determining objectives and determining implementation times which are prepared in a precise schedule; 2) the implementation of academic supervision at this school uses direct supervision techniques, through class visits, carried out according to the schedule that has been prepared with the teacher. Visit to find out directly about the adjustments between learning planning and the direct learning process. The school principal also carries out follow-up activities to follow up on findings during supervision; 3) The results of the evaluation of the implementation of academic supervision are used to: Improve the supervision program in the following year, follow up on difficulties faced by teachers, find the right approach for each teacher with diverse characters and abilities.

Abstract

This qualitative study analyzes the role, strategies, and stages of principals in developing teacher professionalism in State Junior High Schools in Pidie Regency. The research focuses on three key aspects: The principal's role in fostering the integrity of teacher professionalism, The principal's strategy in cultivating teacher teaching competence, and The principal's stages in developing teacher communication soft skills. Using a case study design, data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from principals and 14 certified teachers from State Junior High School 1 Muara Tiga and State Junior High School 3 Muara Tiga. The findings indicate that the principal's role involves value-based leadership, collecting accurate information, and effective communication. Implemented strategies include creating a conducive work environment, providing resources, building a collaborative culture, utilizing technology, and conducting periodic evaluations. The stages for developing communication soft skills involve planning, teacher professional development, supervision, evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

Kondisi sosial masyarakat saat ini menunjukkan semakin tingginya tantangan hidup yang berdampak pada kesehatan mental dan kestabilan kepribadian, terutama di kalangan generasi muda. Krisis nilai, tekanan ekonomi, serta pengaruh budaya luar menjadi faktor yang mendorong lemahnya ketahanan mental dan spiritual individu. Dalam konteks ini, ajaran Islam memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk sikap mental yang tangguh, positif, dan penuh keteladanan melalui nilai-nilai seperti sabar, syukur, tawakal, ikhlas, dan husnuzan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan pembinaan kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya penguatan sikap mental Islami sebagai dasar dalam membentuk kepribadian Muslim yang unggul. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode ceramah interaktif, diskusi kelompok, refleksi ayat Al-Qur’an, dan latihan afirmasi diri dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan reflektif. Peserta berasal dari kalangan masyarakat umum yang menunjukkan kebutuhan akan pembinaan spiritual dan mental. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep sikap mental Islami serta tumbuhnya kesadaran untuk mengamalkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penguatan sikap mental berbasis nilai-nilai Islam terbukti relevan dalam membangun kepribadian yang kuat, seimbang, dan siap menghadapi tantangan zaman. Oleh karena itu, program ini perlu dilanjutkan dan direplikasi secara berkelanjutan di berbagai lapisan masyarakat.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation carried out by the principal together with stakeholders in developing students' character at SMA IT Assalam Islamic School. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of the study are the principal and four teachers at SMA IT Assalam Islamic School. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, and observation. The conclusion of this study is that the principal of SMA IT Assalam Islamic School has designed and implemented a collaborative strategy for character development, which includes the integration of values such as discipline, honesty, and hard work into the curriculum and extracurricular activities. By involving parents and the school committee, and applying fair disciplinary policies, the principal has successfully established a strong foundation for students’ character formation. Although most students have successfully adopted these values, challenges remain regarding inconsistency among certain students. Systematic supervision and evaluations involving stakeholders demonstrate the success of the program, although continuous improvements are being made to achieve greater consistency and sustainable character development. The findings imply the importance of planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation that involve all stakeholders for effective character development. Consistency of values between home and school, along with ongoing evaluation, is essential for the program's effectiveness

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of learning at SMP Assalam Islamic School Jeunieb using the POAC approach (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling). The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and teachers. The results showed that in the planning stage, the school designed the learning process collaboratively and integratively between the national curriculum and the Islamic curriculum based on the dayah system. The principal, vice principal, and teachers were involved in developing integrative lesson plans (RPP), adjusting the morning tahfiz schedule, and identifying the necessary teaching components. In the organizing stage, the school established a clear organizational structure, assigned tasks according to teacher competencies, and ensured regular coordination. The management of learning facilities and infrastructure was carried out systematically and carefully by the education staff. The implementation stage combined modern and traditional methods such as lectures, discussions, sorogan, bandongan, and memorization. Teachers actively integrated general subject content with Islamic values to create meaningful and religious learning experiences. The supervision stage was carried out hierarchically, both internally by the principal and vice principal, and externally by supervisors from the education office and the dayah institution. Supervision included classroom observations, evaluation of teaching documents, and assessments of students’ academic and spiritual development. The findings indicate that the POAC approach can be effectively applied to manage integrated learning that combines two curricula. The study also resulted in a model of integrative learning management based on Islamic values in the context of Islamic boarding schools.
