Abstract

Career maturity is readiness of individuals to deal with the tasks of the development of his/her career. Student’s development career task is make his/her education as a career direction. This study aims to describe career maturity of the Faculty Education Universitas Negeri Padang students class 2014, according to decision making style and gender. Population of this research is 336 students of Faculty Education Universitas Negeri Padang, with samples are 183 students choosen by proportional random sampling. The instruments used in this research is the career maturity scale and Assessment of Career Decision Making of Harren (1979). The results of this research are: 1) student’s career maturity are different significantly according to decision making style, 2) student’s career maturity aren’t different according to gender, 3) there isn’t interaction of decision making style and gender in explaining student’s career maturity.

Abstract

Career maturity is readiness of individuals to deal with the tasks of the development of his/her career.Student’s career maturity can be seen through the readiness of students to work in accordance with their education. This study aims to describe the career maturity oflast term Guidance and Counseling University of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra students. The population in this study is 146last term of the guidance and counseling Muhammadiyah University Sumatera Utara students, with the samples are 105 students selected by simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is the scale of career maturity. The results show that 1.9% of students have very low career maturity, 5.7% are in low career maturity, 40% are in mature career, 50.5% are in high career maturity, and 1.9% are in very high career maturity.Keywords: career maturity, last term guidance and counseling students

Abstract

Career decision making style is individual characteristics in observing and responding to decision-making tasks, and acting in making decisions. The decisionmaking style is divided into three styles: rational, intuitive, and dependent. This study aims to describe the career decision making style of new students Guidance and CounselingMuhammadiyah University of North Sumatera academic year 2017-2018. The population in this study are 109 new students of guidance and counseling program of University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara academic year 2017-2018, and all of population researched in this research. The instrument used in this study is the assessment of decision-making styles adapted from Harren's ACDM (1979). The results showed that 1. 38% of new students Guidance and Counseling Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatera have Rational career decision making style, 2. 35% of new students Guidance and Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatera have Dependen career decision making style, and 3 25% of new students Guidance and Counseling Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatera have intuitive career decision making style. Keywords: career decision making styles, new guidance and counseling students

Abstract

Pendidikan ialah suatu proses penting dalam mencapai tujuan dan cita-cita siswa. Maka pelaksanaan pendidikan diharapkan menjadi langkah dalam menambah pengetahuan mengenai informasi yang menunjang karir siswa. Namun beberapa siswa SMA bingung dalam menetapkan karirnya Beranjak dari hal tersebut peran oleh guru BK sangat diperlukan karena berkaitan dengan bidang keilmuan pada bimbingan konseling karir. Pelaksanaan layanan konseling karir oleh guru BK dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan-pendekatan teori karir salah satunya adalah Trait and factor. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektifitas Trait and factor pada karir siswa SMA.Metode penelitian ini ialah critical review dengan menggunakan 10 jurnal internasional dan nasional yang di dapatkan melalui laman ScienceDirect, Garuda, Google Scholar dengan kriteria tahun 2016-2023. Hasil penelitian ini ialah pendekatan trait and factor dalam pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan konseling efektif dalam membantu karir pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Trait and factor membantu siswa agar paham terhadap potensi dirinya dan dunia pekerjaannya sehingga potensi yang dimiliki siswa dan pekerjaan yang dipilih sesuai.

Abstract

This study examines the guidance and counseling needs of visually impaired students, emphasizing the importance of tailored programs to address their unique challenges. Using a qualitative approach complemented by quantitative data collection, the research surveyed visually impaired students at SLB – A Karya Murni Medan. The findings reveal that personal needs, such as independent daily living activities, are the highest priority, followed by career needs, including career guidance and decision-making skills. Social needs, involving communication and social interaction, and academic needs, covering fundamental educational skills, were also significant. The analysis underscores the necessity of a comprehensive counseling program designed to support visually impaired students in achieving personal independence, career readiness, social skills development, and academic success. This program should incorporate a thorough understanding of students' needs, clear objectives, and robust implementation strategies to ensure their overall well-being and development.

Abstract

Tujuan Pelaksanaan PKM melatih guru untuk membangun koneksi emosional siswa melalui teknik ice breaking di UPT SPF SDN 105289 Kolam.  Lokasi PKM: UPT SPF SDN 105289 Kolam, Medan Deli Serdang, Norh Sumatera. Permasalahan mitra yakni 1) Guru kesulitan merancang kegiatan ice breaking yang kreatif dan menarik bagi siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. 2) Guru membutuhkan pelatihan khusus dalam membangun koneksi emosional atau keahlian interpersonal.  Objek (khalayak sasaran) PKM: Guru Kelas UPT SPF SDN 105289 Kolam. Subjek sasaran pelaksanaan PKM kegiatan PKM melibatkan 20 guru, pelaksanaan pada tanggal 29 Juli 2024, dari pukul 08.00 hingga selesai. Metode pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu analisis kebutuhan pelatihan, perancangan pendekatan pelatihan, pengembangan materi pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, serta evaluasi dan penyempurnaan pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan PKM adalah dengan menerapkan teknik ice-breaking yang efektif melalui pelatihan guru meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan iklim kelas di UPT SPF SDN 105289 Kolam secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

The presence of computers and information technology has brought many changes to human life, including the field of career counseling. The aim of this research is to develop a website-based career counseling application. The development model used is 4D, which includes the definition, design, development and dissemination. This research was conducted at Universitas Negeri Medan which began with collecting initial data related to data on career exploration problems, career selection and lifelong career development. The data collection techniques for this research are interviews, observations and questionnaires for material experts and information technology experts. As a result, the process of developing a career application based on the GCC-Learning.com website has components that suit the needs of Medan State University students. It is known that the need for information and career assistance has been met, but has not resulted in positive changes as expected, because the application being developed is still relatively new and has not been well socialized among students. It is hoped that the results of this research will be useful for all parties involved in student career development issues.

Abstract

Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yang menjadi mitra adalah Forum Musyawarah Guru Bimbingan Konseling Kota Binjai, Sumatera Utara. Forum ini sangat membutuhkan pendampingan terkait dengan permasalahan rendahnya kompetensi guru Bimbingan Konseling dalam mengidentifikasi, melakukan need assesment, dan merancang program pembelajaran individual bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah. Terdapat beberapa masalah yang dihadapi oleh mitra yakni: 1) Terbatasnya akses untuk mendapatkan pelatihan mengenai pembelajaran anak berkebutuhan khusus; 2) Keberadaan siswa berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah umum; 3) Adanya keterbatasan guru dalam melakukan tidakan profesional sesuai kebutuhan siswa berkebutuhan khusus; dan 4) Tidak tersedianya panduan pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan konseling bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah. Pelaksanaan  pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode workshop untuk peningkatan kompetensi porfesional guru serta metode focus group discussion untuk pemanfaatan aplikasi rangkulabk sebagai bentuk inovasi sosial dalam pendidikan anak berkebutuhan khusus. Keberhasilan pengabdian ini dapat diukur berdasarkan luaran yang dihasilkan antara lain: peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam mengidentifikasi dan mengukur kebutuhan siswa berkebutuhan khusus; guru memiliki panduan dalam modifikasi kurikulum untuk pengembangan program pembelajaran individu bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus serta tersedianya program bimbingan konseling bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah.

Abstract

This research focuses on the challenges faced by students with Down syndrome in developing effective social interaction skills, which are often influenced by environmental limitations and the suboptimal role of support systems in schools. The study aims to analyze the role of school counselors as consultants, transmitters, and initiators in supporting the development of social interactions in students with Down syndrome. A descriptive research method with a qualitative approach was employed. The research subjects included school counselors as primary subjects, and class teachers and parents of students with Down syndrome as secondary subjects. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, and then analyzed using triangulation techniques through coding to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the role of school counselors as consultants helps to provide strategic guidance to teachers and parents, the role as a transmitter function to convey relevant information and understanding about the students' needs, while the role as an initiator facilitates interactive activities that encourage the students' social skills. This study concludes that the role of school counselors is crucial in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for the development of social interactions in students with Down syndrome, ultimately contributing to the improvement of their quality of life. The latest information in this study implies that a more holistic and sustainable approach, both at school and at home, is needed to maximize the social potential of Down syndrome children.
