Abstract

Our research focuses on enhancing the potential of pumpkin seed waste extract as a sustainable corrosion inhibitor for metal (Fe) in 1 M HCl solution. Phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity were identified. Various investigative methodologies including experimental techniques such as Potentiodynamic Polarization (PDP) were used to evaluate the effectiveness of these pumpkin seed waste extract inhibitors in inhibiting corrosion. Electrochemical results showed that the effectiveness of the inhibitor was concentration dependent here reaching 83.11% at 3000 g/L pumpkin seed waste extract inhibitor. The PDP showed that the mixed inhibition control effectively retarded the corrosion of the metal. Furthermore, the adsorption behavior of the pumpkin seed waste extract inhibitor onto the metal follows the Langmuir isotherm model with physisorption properties. The adsorption mechanism of the inhibitor on the metal surface successfully formed a protective film on the metal surface thereby reducing the corrosion rate.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan hak setiap warga negara Indonesia, hal ini tertuang dalam Undang - Undang Dasar 1945 Pasal 3 ayat 1. Pendidikan dapat memberikan dampak positif dalam peningkatan kualitas hidup seseorang serta salah satu cara dalam mengembangkan sebuah negara. Dalam rangka untuk meningkatkan jumlah peminat dan pendaftar pada peguruan tinggi khususnya Program Studi Teknik Industri Universitas Mataram, maka dilaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi dan promosi kepada siswa/i SMA di provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat. Tujuan dilaksanakan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan informasi tentang pentingnya pendidikan tinggi di Universitas dan memberikan wawasan tahapan seleksi penerimaan mahasiswa baru pada tingkat perguruan tinggi melalui jalur SNPMB 2025. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan melakukan sosialisasi dan promosi berupa presentasi terkait penerimaan mahasiswa baru secara luring ke SMA di wilayah Nusa Tenggara Barat.

Abstract

Penelitian kami berfokus pada peningkatan potensi ekstrak labu kuning sebagai penghambat korosi yang berkelanjutan untuk aluminium (Al) dalam larutan 1 M HCl. Skrining fitokimia dan aktivitas antioksidan diidentifikasi. Berbagai metodologi investigasi termasuk teknik eksperimental seperti Polarisasi Potensiodinamik (PDP) digunakan untuk mengevaluasi keefektifan inhibitor ekstrak labu kuning ini dalam menghambat korosi. Karakteristik permukaan Al yang terkorosi diperiksa dengan menggunakan kombinasi Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil elektrokimia menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas inhibitor bergantung pada konsentrasinya disini mencapai 82.28% pada 3000 ppm inhibitor ekstrak labu kuning. PDP menunjukkan bahwa kontrol inhibisi campuran secara efektif memperlambat korosi Al. Selanjutnya perilaku adsorpsi inhibitor ekstrak labu kuning ke Al mengikuti model isoterm Langmuir dengan sifat fisisorpsi. Analisis SEM lebih lanjut memverifikasi perubahan signifikan dalam morfologi permukaan dan kekasaran Al. Mekanisme adsorpsi dari inhibitor pada permukaan Al berhasil membentuk lapisan pelindung pada permukaan Al sehingga mengurangi laju korosi.

Abstract

The sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the woodcraft industry is increasingly challenged by competition from industrial-scale composite products. This market pressure has contributed to the ongoing decline of the partner enterprise, UD Putra Meubeller. The decline in this woodcraft business can be attributed to three primary factors: production, management, and marketing. This community engagement initiative focuses specifically on addressing the production-related issues. The engagement process is conducted through five stages: socialization, training, technology implementation, evaluation and assistance, and program sustainability. The knowledge gained by the partner during the training phase has introduced new ideas for product development in wood processing. The partner has acquired new insights related to yakisugi finishing techniques, raw material control from fast-growing wood species, and the maintenance of woodcraft machinery. This initiative is expected to reinvigorate the woodcraft business by refreshing product designs to align with current market trends and preferences in the furniture sector.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) merupakan langkah penting dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan penerapan standar keselamatan di tempat kerja, terutama di sektor informal seperti usaha tukang kayu. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Perina, Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat, dengan tujuan untuk memberikan informasi tentang K3 dan penerapan penggunaan APD kepada pelaku usaha tukang kayu mengenai pentingnya penerapan K3 dalam bekerja. Kondisi di lapangan menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan pengetahuan dan implementasi K3, yang secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan risiko kecelakaan kerja di wilayah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan meliputi presentasi, demonstrasi penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD), dan simulasi prosedur keselamatan kerja di tempat kerja. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman pekerja tentang identifikasi bahaya di lingkungan kerja, cara penggunaan APD yang benar. Partisipasi aktif para pelaku usaha tukang kayu selama kegiatan juga mencerminkan minat dan komitmen peserta dalam meningkatkan standar keselamatan kerja. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan sosialisasi ini terbukti sangat efektif dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman dna penerapan K3 serta kualitas kerja dan keselamatan di sektor usaha mikro kecil menengah (UMKM), khususnya di wilayah pedesaan.

Abstract

Kecelakaan kerja di industri pengelasan menjadi perhatian utama karena dapat menyebabkan cedera serius pada pekerja, kehilangan material dan berdampak negatif terhadap produktivitas. Oleh karena itu, penting dilakukan identifikasi dan menganalisis potensi kecelakaan kerja dalam proses pengelasan dan mengembangkan strategi pencegahan yang efektif. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menganalisis kecelakaan kerja yang dapat terjadi pada saat pengelasan pada bengkel las dengan menggunakan metode HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) serta mengidentifikasi langkah-langkah pengendalian yang tepat. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung dan analisis terhadap berbagai tahapan proses pengelasan di bengkel las yang melibatkan berbagai jenis pekerjaan pengelasan, termasuk persiapan material, pengaturan mesin, proses pengelasan, dan penyelesaian pekerjaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa risiko kecelakaan yang terkait dengan mesin pengelasan yang tidak aman, tidak menggunakan alat pelindung diri (APD) yang memadai, eksposur bahan kimia berbahaya, serta risiko kebakaran dan ledakan akibat kegagalan dalam prosedur pengendalian keselamatan.

Abstract

Mikro serat (holoselulosa) dari serat batang pohon nunang memiliki karakteristik mekanik, ketahanan panas yang baik dan densitas ringan sehingga cocok untuk material kemasan hasil pertanian (biokomposit). Lembaran serat nunang diperoleh dengan merendam kulit batang nunang dalam air dan dipotong ±1 cm untuk diblender, dan dilanjutkan proses pengayakan 40 mesh. Serat makro nunang kemudian diputihkan dengan larutan NaClO2 5% dan dimerserisasi dengan larutan NaOH 9% pada suhu 65 °C dan kecepatan 500 rpm selama 2 jam di atas magnetic stirrer. Hasil uji FTIR mengungkapkan telah hilangnya serapan pada bilangan gelombang 2026–1698 cm-1 yang merupakan indikasi hilangnya senyawa lignin, hemiselulosa, lilin dan senyawa pengotor lainnya. Pengujian difraksi sinar-X (XRD) menunjukkan niilai indeks kekristalan yang lebih tinggi setelah perlakuan kimia NaClO2 dan NaOH, sementara itu pengamatan foto SEM menunjukkan fitur permukaan yang lebih kasar sebagai tanda larutnya material pengotor. Setelah perlakuan kimia serat mikro juga mengindikasikan ketahanan termal yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa serat mikro nunang setelah perlakuan kimia memiliki potensi untuk industri kemasan hasil pertanian seperti film transparan ataupun bioplastik.

Abstract

Poor management of occupational safety and health (OSH) has an impact on occupational accidents. This results in losses for both the individual worker and the company. Therefore, the occupational hazard accident risk analysis was carried out using the HIRARC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control) method. Data collection was conducted from the business owners of SSBC (Sanggar Sarana Baja Cakra) Welding and Turning Shop, located in Cakranegara, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. There are 3 work activities for risk identification, namely the clamping process, the engraving process and the drilling process. The results of the analysis show that the highest level of occupational risk occurs during clamping and engraving process. For drilling, it's in low level of risk. As for risk management, it is mainly done for high-risk level. Immediate improvement is needed by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to workers to reduce these risks. Based on these results, business owners can do evaluation on his business so occupational accidents can be in the workplace.

Abstract

Recenly conventional vehicles use fossil fuels, however these fuels are non-renewable energy sources and their availability in nature is very limited. If they are explored continuously then one day they will run out, so it is very necessary to save and innovate to use these sources. Other renewable energy sources, one of which is electrical energy, where this electrical energy can be generated from various sources such as water, solar, biomass and so on. Besides that, the use of electrical energy for vehicles is currently very relevant because it is environmentally friendly, that is, it does not produce CO or CO2 gas like conventional vehicles, so this energy is known as green energy. Indonesia has the potential to produce electric cars because the availability of nickel is very abundant to be processed into batteries, as a provider or energy storage for electric cars, our country has a very big opportunity to produce electric cars. To make this happen, it is deemed necessary to carry out comprehensive studies such as power steering so that comfort and safety can be achieved. The most suitable power steering is the electric power steering (EPS) type because the energy required comes from the battery. The method applied in this research is an experimental method, by measuring torque requirements on various roads, the roads chosen are asphalt roads, block paving roads and dirt roads. Based on this data, an EPS test bench then created which was able to measure the input and output torque of the EPS and look for the power consumed by the system. Road conditions can cause differences in torque requirements, in block paving road conditions the greatest torque requirement is 2.77 Nm and the smallest occurs in asphalt road conditions at 1.62 Nm. EPS testing shows that it is only loaded up to 25% with an input torque of 1,652 Nm resulting an output torque of 3,924 Nm with an electrical power consumption of 6,31 watts.

Abstract

This study analyzes and simulates the ticket queue system of the Trans Jogja Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) at Jombor Terminal, Yogyakarta. Increasing passenger mobility and the growing demand for public transportation services have contributed to queue congestion during peak operating hours. The queue system operates using a single-channel single-phase model with a First Come First Served (FCFS) discipline. This research aims to evaluate the performance of the existing queue system and validate the simulation model using the trace-driven method. Data were collected through direct observation of 300 passengers, including arrival time and service time data. The simulation process was conducted using the Linear Congruential Generator (LCG) method and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney statistical test. The results show that the simulation model successfully represents the real system, with a service time error of only 0.13% and an arrival time error of 1.58%. Furthermore, the Mann-Whitney test indicates no significant difference between the simulation and the actual system, with probability values greater than α = 0.1. The findings demonstrate that the trace-driven simulation method is effective for modeling queue systems and can be used to support queue service improvement strategies at Trans Jogja shelters.
