Abstract

This study explores the influence of digital leadership on employee work engagement within creative MSMEs in the Kedu Residency, with a particular focus on digital readiness as a mediating factor. The rapid advancement of digital technology poses significant challenges for MSMEs, necessitating effective leadership to enhance workforce engagement. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 200 respondents using purposive sampling. Analysis was conducted through regression techniques and the Sobel test to assess the relationships among digital leadership, digital readiness, and work engagement. The findings reveal that digital leadership has a positive influence on digital readiness, which in turn significantly boosts employee work engagement. However, the direct effect of digital leadership on engagement was found to be negative when digital readiness among employees was insufficient. These results underscore the importance of enhancing digital readiness to fully leverage the benefits of digital leadership in increasing employee engagement. This research offers valuable insights for MSME owners aiming to improve workforce adaptability and engagement in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the 4-Days a Week (4DWW) system, an innovative work approach that aims to improve employee productivity and well-being. By reviewing the literature on the implementation of 4DWW in different countries and industries, the study identifies the benefits, challenges, and implications of transitioning to this model, particularly in the post-pandemic context. The study used a qualitative literature review, analyzing academic articles and case studies from SCOPUS-indexed journals. This research ranges from the early implementation of 4DWW in the 1970s to recent studies conducted after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research focuses on the impact of 4DWW on employee productivity and well-being. The 4DWW system significantly improves work-life balance and reduces employee stress, leading to better mental health and higher satisfaction. Productivity often increases due to shorter and more focused work periods. However, the challenges include managing work intensity and ensuring operational continuity, particularly in sectors that require a high physical presence. The study offers a comprehensive review of global research on 4DWW, which presents a holistic perspective on its potential benefits and drawbacks. The new thing lies in efforts to overcome the resurgence of interest in 4DWW post-pandemic and evaluate its feasibility in the modern work environment. The findings show that 4DWW can redefine the work paradigm, emphasizing quality over quantity while fostering a healthier and more sustainable work culture. The study underscores the need for legislative support, effective communication strategies, and tailored implementation plans to ensure a successful transition across a wide range of industries.

Abstract

The changing business landscape over the past two decades has been marked by the accelerated adoption of digital technology, increasing environmental awareness, and the demand for sustainable business models. In this context, companies are required to not only compete effectively but also transform towards a Green Industry by leveraging renewable energy and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Traditional management strategies such as SWOT, TOWS, and QSPM remain relevant, but their effectiveness increases significantly when combined with modern approaches such as Blue Ocean Strategy and supported by the use of real-time data from the IoT. The study showed that IoT implementation can improve operational efficiency, reduce machine downtime, strengthen supply chain management, and optimize renewable energy utilization, resulting in reduced carbon emissions and energy cost savings of up to 20%. Quantitative findings demonstrate a significant contribution of the integration of management strategies, IoT, and renewable energy to company performance with an R² value of 0.67, while qualitative interviews confirmed IoT's role as a catalyst for digital-green transformation. However, challenges such as initial investment costs, data security risks, and limited technical skills remain inhibiting factors. This study concludes that the integration of IoT with renewable energy and management strategies is a strategic foundation for increasing competitiveness while strengthening the legitimacy of corporate sustainability in the green industry era.
