Abstract

The percentage of entrepreneurs is very small, it needs concrete efforts to grow and develop the entrepreneurial spirit in higher education which is expected to encourage students to be enthusiastic about entrepreneurship. The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (PPK) activity is to develop entrepreneurship at Mulawarman Universit. Socialization to students and until the end of the registration as many as 49 students / alumni registered. Implementation of entrepreneurship training activities via offline and online, training materials covering theory and practice as well as conducting field visits to advanced MSME entrepreneurs. Business proposal presentations were also conducted to determine the tenants who passed the selection. Business apprenticeship at an apprenticeship place that is in accordance with tenant business products, guidance and consultation are carried out periodically as well as assistance in the preparation of business proposals to be marketed through social media and E Commerce. The KDP website was created contained information on KDP activities and tenant products. Periodic guidance and consultation are also carried out through off line and on line as well as assistance in the preparation of scientific-based business proposals and product improvements to be marketed through social media and E Commerce

Abstract

Teacher as one of the important key factors in education must enhance the quality of their knowledge both theoretical, skills, and expertise. For this reason, the community service program held by Department of Biology, FMIPA, Mulawarman University, Samarinda aimed to improve the practical skills of high school teachers. This program was attended by 16 teachers from various high schools from the Samarinda region and Tenggarong. The community service program consisted of 25% theory and 75% practice in one day. The theory about DNA isolation, polymerase chain reaction, and electrophoresis was done in the classroom. Meanwhile, in laboratory, the use of molecular biology equipment, electrophoresis, interpretation results of electrophoretic DNA bands, and NCBI was done by the teachers which is assisted by the laboratory assistant. In the end of the program, the skill of laboratory practice of teachers was improve, indicating by the increasing percentage of understanding about biology molecular skills.

Abstract

A Community service program known as Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) was done from April-July 2019 at Bentian Besar village, Bentian Kutai Barat, Kalimantan Timur. The purpose of the PKM was to empower community, especially Datai lino farmer group in order to enhance their productivity and transfer Science and technology, assisting the member of Datai lino farmer group to do stingless bee culture. In this program, the member of farmer group has obtained a soft skill and an experience in stingless bee culture. Further, this program can empower the member of Datai lino farmer to be an entrepreneurship, providing stingless bee product such as propolis and honey bee which has an economic value. This program was done in two sections, theory and practice with ratio 25%:75%. In theory section, the member of PKM has delivered a presentation regarding stingless bee culture technique. In the practice section, the members of datai lino farmer group directly built stingless bee home base and applied stingless bee culture, including maintenance bee colony and harvest the products. The outcome of the PKM program was soft skill transfer technology, a stingless bee culture module. In the future, this program can be implemented to boost the economic value for the members of Datai lino farmer group in Bentian, Kutai Barat, Kalimantan Timur.

Abstract

Kolin dan metionin bermanfaat dalam imunitas, pertumbuhan, deposisi lipid dan protein pada ikan. Penambahan kolin dan metionin dalam pakan ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penambahan kolin dan metionin pada pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan efektivitas pakan ikan mas. Sejumlah 1.350 ekor ikan (umur ±2 bulan, berat awal 25,29±0,10 gram, panjang 10,5±11,2 cm) dibagi menjadi tujuh kelompok perlakuan dan satu kelompok kontrol dengan masing-masing tiga pengulangan. Kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan diberi diet basal (5 kali sehari) dengan penambahan persentase (%) rasio kolin dan metionin berbeda. Kelompok D1 = tanpa kolin dan metionin (kontrol); D2-8 adalah kelompok ikan dengan penambahan formulasi kombinasi kolin dan metionin sebagai berikut: D2 (0%:0,15%), D3 (0,04%:0%), D4 (0,04%:0,15%), D5 (0,08%:0%), D6 (0,08%: 0,15%), D7 (0,12%:0%), D8 (0,12%: 0,15%) selama 12 minggu. Parameter pertumbuhan yaitu: berat akhir, pertambahan berat badan, pertambahan berat harian, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, rasio konversi pakan, efisiensi pakan, laju efisiensi protein, dan kelangsungan hidup ikan mas yang diukur pada akhir minggu ke 12. Hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa nilai tertinggi berat akhir, pertambahan berat badan, pertambahan berat harian, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, rasio efisiensi protein, dan efisiensi pakan didapat pada ikan mas kelompok D8. Sementara rasio konversi pakan ikan kelompok D3 menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi dari ikan kelompok lainnya. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah diet D8 dapat diterapkan dan bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan. Sementara diet D3 bermanfaat untuk menaikkan efisiensi pakan dan rasio konversi pakan ikan mas. Choline and methionine are beneficial in immunity, growth, lipid and protein deposition in fish. A supplementation of choline and methionine in Carp fish (Cyprinus carpio) feed should be performed to improve growth and feed efficiency. This study evaluated the importance of choline and methionine supplementation on the growth and feed efficiency. In total 1,350 fish (± 2 months old, initial weight 25.29 ± 0.10 g, length 10.5 ± 11.2 cm) were randomly divided into triplicates seven treatment groups and one control group. For 12 weeks, the control and treatment fish groups were given a basal diet (5 times per day) with a different percentage (%) ratio of choline and methionine. Namely: D1 = without choline and methionine (control); D2-8 are groups of fish with a combination of formulation and methionine as follows: D2 (0%: 0.15%), D3 (0.04%: 0%), D4 (0.04%: 0.15%), D5 (0.08%: 0%), D6 (0.08%: 0.15%), D7 (0.12%: 0%), D8 (0.12%: 0.15%). Growth parameters such as: final weight (FW), body weight gain (BWG), daily weight gain (DWG), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency (FE), protein efficiency rate (PER), and survival rate were determined at the end of the week 12. The results showed that optimum FW, BWG, DWG, SGR, PER, and FE were obtained in D8 group. Meanwhile, the FCR of D3 group was higher than other groups. In conclusion, D8 diet is beneficial to to increase fish growth, while D3 diet is useful for increasing FE and FCR of carp.

Abstract

The length-weight relationship of fish and the condition factor provides an overview of the fish growth conditions in the river. The purpose of this study was to determine the length-weight relationship and factor condition of five fish species in the Suwi River wetlands. The method of catching fish used gill nets, ceiling nets, fishing rods, traps, and other nets. The research was conducted for to months in the Suwi river wetlands. The results the length-weight relationship of five fish were varied, Ompok bimaculatus had b value 2,93, Helostoma temminckii (b  value 2.15), Mystus nemurus  (b value 2,62), and Channa) micropeltes (b 2.61) which indicated a negative allometric growth pattern. Meanwhile Leptobarbus hoevenii (b 3.12) was a positive allometric growth pattern. Negative allometric indicates growth in length faster than weight growth, thus the physical shape looks flattened, while positive allometric indicates growth in fish length slower than growth in fish weight. Based on the relative weight (Wr) of Ompok bimaculatus 101.28 ± 19.13, Helostoma temminckii 101.05 ± 15.51, Mystus nemurus 100.95 ± 14.84, Channa micropeltes 101.09 ± 14.14, Leptobarbus hoevenii 103.71 ± 34.57. Condition factor above 100, indicates sufficient food availability or low predator density

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (Iptek bagi Masyarakat atau IbM) telah dilaksanakan pada bulan JuliNovember2016diDesaLempakeSamarindaUlu,SamarindaKalimantanTimur.TujuankegiatanIbMiniadalahmentransferilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dan membimbing anggota kelompok tani hijau makmur di wilayahDesa Lempake Samarinda Utara agar dapat melakukan cara pembenihan ikan patin secara buatan. Denganprogram pengabdian ini tiap anggota kelompok tani hijau makmur akan memiliki soft skill dan pengalaman dibidang pemijahan buatan ikan patin. Secara garis besar pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dalamdua metode besar yaitu teori dan praktek dengan perbandingan 1x teori dan 2 x praktek pembimbingan teknikpembibitan ikan patin. Di dalam teori, anggota dari Pelaksana Ibm menyampikan teori tentang pemijahan ikanpatin buatan, aspek teknis, dan tinjauan dari sisi ekonomis. Di dalam sesi praktek, anggota dari kelompok tanimelakukan teknik pemijahan ikan patin. Luaran Ibm ini berupa transfer soft skill teknik pembibitan ikan patinsecara buatan, serta buku manual teknik pembibitan ikan patin secara buatan. Dalam jangka panjang, programpengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan tingkat perekonomian masyarakat kelompok tani tersebut dansekitarnya dan juga penerapan ekonomi kerakyatan.

Abstract

AbstrakDalam pembangunan desa di era modern saat ini, desa dituntut untuk mampu berperan aktif, mandiri serta dapat memenuhi kebutuhannya dengan kemampuan sendiri. Hal ini tertuang dalam UU No. 06 tahun 2014 Tentang Desa. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakanmasyarakat Desa Sidomulyo Kecamatan Anggana Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara sebagai upaya meningkatkan perekonomian desa melalui Desa wisata hidroponik. Program ini memiliki luaran: terbentuknya keterampilan masyarakat Desa Sidomulyo bercocok tanam secara hidroponik; terbentuknya pusat tanaman hidroponik di Desa Sidomulyo; terbentuk kelompok-kelompok kecil dalam setiap Rukun Tetangga (RT) untuk bercocok tanam secara hidroponik; adanya kunjungan pendidikan ke Desa Wisata Hidroponik dari siswa-siswi Sekolah Dasar (SD), Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Anggana. Metode pelaksanaan yangdigunakan meliputi dua hal besar: tahap persiapan dan tahap inti. Hasil pelaksanaan yang telah dicapai sebagai berikut: seluruh sesi dalam tahap persiapan dan program inti dari sosialisasi, peresmian, kegiatan inti serta project desain berhasil diraih sesuai target. Indikatornya adalah: masyarakat sekitarsering berkunjung ke pusat hidroponik pada sore hari dan membeli peralatan serta sayuran hidroponik serta belajar teknik menanam hidroponik. Hasil positf lain adalah dipublikasikannya program ini dalam media masa Samarinda Pos, Repository Website Unmul dan terbentuknya kelompok-kelompok kecilhidroponik.Kata kunci: Hidroponik, Desa Wisata, Desa Sidomulyo, Pemberdayaan masyarakatAbstractHydroponic tourism village as an effort of community empowerment of Sidomulyo village, Anggana district, Kutai Kartanegara regency. In the modern era, a village is required to be able to play an active, independent and meet their needs with their own ability as stated in the Indonesian Law Act. No. 062014. Therefore, current community service program aimed to empower the community of Sidomulyo Village, Anggana Subdistrict Kutai Kartanegara Regency as an effort to improve the economy sector through Hydroponics tourism village. This program has an outcome: the formation of community skillsSidomulyo hydroponic Village; the establishment of hydroponic center in Sidomulyo Village; small groups formed in each neighboring group for hydroponic cultivation; the presence of educational visits to the Hydroponics Tourism Village from elementary school, Junior High School and Senior HighSchool located in Kecamatan Anggana. The method of implementation used: the preparation and core stage. The results were: all sessions in the preparation and core program of inauguration have been succesfully implemented, socialization, core activities and design projects have also been achieved as expected. Community were interested to visit the hydroponic center in the afternoon, bought hydroponic equipment, vegetables and learn hydroponic planting techniques. Abstract

Studi reaksi co-pirolisis mikroalga Botryococcus braunii dan Victorian brown coal dengan thermogravimetric analyser telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari potensi dari campuran Botryococcus braunii dan Victorian brown coal sebagai sumber bahan bakar. Co-pirolisis dilakukan dengan empat variasi laju pemanasan yaitu 10, 15, 20 dan 25 ºC/menit menggunakan Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). Rentang suhu reaksi co-pirolisis aktif Botryococcus braunii dan Victorian brown coal berkisar antara 155,79 ºC hingga 545,27 ºC yang terjadi dalam tiga tahapan. Tahapan pertama adalah penguapan air dan senyawa volatil (20-200 ℃), tahapan kedua yaitu co-pirolisis aktif (250-500 ℃) dan tahapan ketiga yaitu dekomposisi lignin dan senyawa karbon yang terkandung dalam campuran mikroalga dan batubara (500-800 ℃). Abstract

Pirolisis mikroalga Botryococcus braunii dengan Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA) telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari karakteristik dan potensi mikroalga B. braunii sebagai sumber energi terbarukan melalui proses pirolisis. Pirolisis dilakukan dengan empat variasi laju pemanasan yaitu 10, 15, 20 dan 25 °C/menit. Berdasarkan hasil karakterisasi, B. braunii memiliki kadar air 5,01 ± 0,42%, kadar abu 27,44 ± 1,11%. Kurva TG dan dTG pirolisis B. Braunii menunjukan rentang suhu untuk reaksi pirolisis aktif mikroalga B. braunii adalah antara 150 – 550 °C, dimana terjadi proses degradasi biomassa yang terdiri dari dekomposisi karbohidrat, protein dan lipid. Abstract

The aimed of the study was to determine the prevalence, intensity and dominance of ectoparasites that infected gourami (Osphronemus goramy) which cultivated in floating net cages in Cirata reservoir, West Java. Present results showed that there were 22 gouramis infected with ectoparasites from 30 observed fish. The ectoparasites (Prevalence, Intensity and Dominance) found were Trichodina sp. (13.33%, 8.15 32.62%), Ichthyobodo sp. (3.33%, 1.00, 0.31%) Microsporadia (6.67%, 1.00, 0.31%), Carchesium granulatum (6.67%, 34.00, 20.92%), Cichligogyrus sp. (3.33%, 7.00, 2.15%), Dacthylogyrus sp. (20.00%, 2.00, 3.69%), Centrocestus sp. (6.67%, 3.00, 1.85%), Argulus sp. (56.67%, 6.94, 36.31%), Lerneae sp. (3.33%, 3.00, 0,92%), Gnatia sp. (3.33%, 1.00, 0.31%) and Hatschekia sp (3.33%, 1.00, 0.31%). The Argulus sp. had the highest prevalence with a percentage of 73.33% and becames the most dominant species with a percentage value of 36,31%. Meanwhile, Carchesium granulatum was an ectoparasite species that demonstrated the highest intensity of 34. Based on the diversity of ectoparasites, it was found as positive case that gourami cultivated in the Cirata reservoir have been infected with ectoparasites, especially from the species Argulus sp.
