Abstract

AbstractThe research background is to find deeper meaning of the handwoven pattern on the  property of Jepin Dance. 1) describing the binding pattern of the Jepin Tali Pesawat Terbang dance propery, and 2) describing the meaning of the Jepin Tali Pesawat Terbang dance property. The descriptive method is used, a qualitative form was applied and using semiotics. Sources of research data are the results of interviews with Yusuf Dahyani, Juhermi Thahir, and Anwar Djafar as the interviewees who researcher got the information from, this producting data  that researchers used collection of interview dan observation techniques. Data validity testing techniques include extension of observation and triangulation were applied. The tari jepin tali pesawat has 4 bonding patterns. Namely 1) A back pattern which symbolizes intertwined relationship that cannot be separated because of cooperatif in it. 2). The pattern of entangling means that in simple survival, human being must remain on the straight path by strengthening their faith and heart to get through various trials in this world. 3). The knot tied pattern means no matter how strong human, humans still have weakness inthemselves. To get what each person wants, one must strive and be patient in order to be a better person. 4). Belted pattern means that everything in the world both good and bad is all based on the will or power of the almighty God. According to the results of this study, it is suggested that people should care more and love the local traditions by preserving them so that the arts can be known especially by the local community and even the world that the tari jepin tali pesewat becomes a local cultural treasure that will not be forgotten as he timegoes by.Keywords: Meaning, Pattern, Tari Jepin Tali Pesawat.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated lack of writing and documenting of traditional dancing in the local area. The researcher very excited toward dayak culture especially about Entrai dance to know the history and development about it’s.The method used in this research is historis descriptive, in the from of qualitative research by multidisciplinary approach that divided into three of theories, those are the theory of history, anthropology, and sociology. Tools of data collecting were taken by several techniques such as observation, interview, and documentation techniques from the statements of some artists of Entarai Dancing as the informants. The validity techniques were extending the observation and source triangulation technique that combined the statements from the informants.The history of Entarai Dancing started in 1960, where Juyah, an indigenous of Ketungau Sesaek Dayak Tribe, as the creator of the first Entarai Dancing. Then, Libau introduced and developed that in 1987 as the first dancer of Entarai Dancing. In 1996, Entarai Dancing developed by Aki in the Inauguration of St. Gelma Galgani Church. In 2000 until now, Entarai Dancing use in entertain dancing. The structure of gestures in Entarai Dancing divided into three parts, those are respect, main, and closing gestures. Abstract

Abstract The various percussion patterns of Ya Muhammad radat was the background in this research. The problem formulations in this research were how to play tahar, how many varieties of its percussion pattern, and how the various percussion pattern Ya Muhammad radat in Sebadi Village, Teluk Keramat Subdistrict, Sambas Regency.The method used in this research was descriptive method with qualitative research and musicology approach. Sources of data in this research was a person who understands and knows about the variety percussion pattern Ya Muhammad radat in Sebadi Village, Teluk Keramat Subdistrict, Sambas Regency. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, interviews, and documentation with researchers as the main instrument. Checking the validity of data in this research using extension of observation and triangulation technique. Data analysis techniques were analysis during data collection and analysis after data collection. The results of this research were there are three kinds of percussion pattern of Ya Muhammad radat in Sebadi Village, Teluk Keramat Subdistrict, Sambas Regency which functioned as dance accompaniment music consisting of dance and music, which are ngambek, nyaut, and ribu-ribu. This research described all kind of those pattern. Each of them uses literal repetition and 4/4 time signature. Tahar of Ya Muhammad radat has two timbre, those are "tak" and "dung". Keywords: various percussion patterns of tahar, radat, Sambas Regency.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kesenian tari tradisional Tari Radat Koko kini mulai jarang ditampilkan. Selain itu kurangnya dokumentasi yang akurat berupa tulisan, serta kurangnya penulisan struktur gerak dalam tari oleh seniman  -seniman terdahulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan bentuk kualitatif. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan Terdapat 5 gugus yakni Gugus melambaikan tangan, Gugus menumbok paha, Gugus napak lantai, Gugus pasang kaki kuda dan  Gugus silat. Desain atas yang terbentuk adalah desain vertikal, desain horizontal, desain kontras, desain murni, desain statis, desain lurus, desain bersudut, desain medium dan desain tertunda. Sedangkan desain lantai yang terbentuk secara keseluruhan  adalah desain lurus.   Kata Kunci : Struktur Gerak Tari Radat Koko, Desain Atas,         Desain Lantai   Abstract: The background of this research is the traditional dance art of Radat Koko Dance is now rarely showed to public even. Besides lack of authentic documentation in written form, and the lack of dance movement structure writing by the previous artists. The method of this research is analysis descriptive in qualitative form. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that there is a arranged in one dance movement structure which is consist of motive, phrase, sentence and cluster. There are five clusters, melambaikan tangan, menumbok paha, napak lantai, pasang kaki kuda and silat. The upper design is vertical, horizontal design, contrast design, pure design, static design, straight design, angular design, postponed design. Abstract

AbstrakBackground of this study was about the existency of symbol meaning that needs to be described related to the clothes that are used in Bentabuh dance. The research design of this study was Descriptive Analysis that was presented informs of qualitative research and fenomenology approach. The technique of the data validation test was presented informs of extensive observation, triangulation source, and triangulation technique. The result of this study ere presented informs of the clothes that is used by the dancers based on the on their characters such as Penongah (a guardian), a bride and groom, their Kombar  (a bridesmaid and groomsman) and two other dancers whose characters are as to hold a chicken and yellow rice.The meaning of the symbol of dance clothing Bentabuh can be seen from the stripes on the clothes (standing dragon is described as the symbol of the strength,  and also bamboo shoots, flowers, ferns, and leaves that symbolize that their life is depending on the nature), shapes (depending on the user's gender), colours (black, white, yellow, red, and gold). In addition, the result of this study are expected to be implemented in the course of Seni Budaya for eleventh (XI) graders. Keywords: Bentabuh, Dance Clothes, Symbol Meaning.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was motivated by the fact that Hadrah art is rarely heard among the public. The phenomenon is characterized by a lack of interest of teenagers to the Hadrah arts. The method used is descriptive method with a form of qualitative research. The approach used is an ethnographic approach. Source of data obtained through informants who know about Hadrah art in the Sekuduk village Sejangkung sub-district of Sambas district. Data collection techniques were observation, interview techniques, and technical documentation. Technique of validity the data was extension of the observation and triangulation sources techniques. The results of the research were: 1) the musical function of Hadrah art as the atmosphere carrier, as a means of communication, as a eans of education, as a means of survival and stability of culture, and as a means of entertainment. 2) the way of presenting Hadrah art such as percussion ensembles using seven kinds of musical instruments, which is 3 pieces of tambourines, drums, bongos, tambourines and maracas. The implementation of Hadrah arts besides performed at the Maulud Prophet, it was also commonly carried out at the marriage, circumcision, plain flour, halal bi halal, moved a new home, and salvation Umrah / Haj. Keywords:  Function, Forms of presentation, Hadrah arts

Abstract

AbstractThe purposes of the creation of musical works are to 1) offer an innovation and new view in music processing using West Kalimantan traditional music instruments, 2) elevate West Kalimantan culture through sape instrument in melodious musical works so that it is more widely known and worldwide, and 3) become a reference in a musical composition, especially art education in West Kalimantan. The theoretical basis for reference in music creation includes musical composition, elements of musical composition, musical composition techniques, and writing musical notation. This work consists of 4 movements that applies transference, syncretic, and synthesis creation methods. The stages of creation employ several steps which include observation, exploration, composition and evaluation. As an absolute musical work, the discussion and analysis that the author focuses on from each movement lies in the processing of tone and harmony and rhythmic processing. Abstract

AbstractThe study was based on the disappearance of the Twelve Steps dance at Bungkok River Village, Kapuas District, Sanggau District, West Kalimantan. The objective of this research was to revitalize the Dance of Twelve at River Bungkok Village in order to live again among the people of Sungai Bungkok village environment. This research raised the problem that is about how the activities, the process of the activities, and results of the revitalization activities of the Twelve Steps in Bungkok River village, Kapuas Sub-district, Sanggau District, West Kalimantan. The result of this research was dissect the dance form of Twelve Steps by re-displaying the Twelve Steps dance using the accompaniment of the music and the costume of the dance in the village of Sungai Bungkok. The presence of local people who witnessed the performance of this Twelve dance, the researcherfelt that the revitalization was supported by the local community so it can be known in the village environment of Sungai Bungkok. Until now the Twelve Steps dance was still taught to other dancers friends in order to preserve one of the cultural traditions dance that is located in the village of Sungai Bungkok. This is what makes the researcherfelt that the research conducted by the researcher related to the revitalization of Twelve steps dance in Bungkok River village, Kapuas Sub-district, Sanggau District, West Kalimantan successful and running smoothly. Keywords : revitalization, dance Step Twelve, Sanggau District

Abstract

AbstractThe background of this study was the lack of students' abilities in reading the music rhythm in playing a similar music ensemble. In the learning process, the teacher still used the conventional teaching method in the form of lectures. The process and results of improving rhythmic reading skills in 7th-grade students of SMP 3 Teluk Keramat on similar musical ensemble material using a model song. The theories used in this study were Learning, Music, Rhythmic Reading Ability, Music ensembles, Learning Media, Model Songs. Classroom Action Research with the descriptive method and qualitative approach were used as the form of the research. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification in the form of conclusions from the results of student presentations in cycles 1 and 2. The data were validated by using the triangulation technique by checking the data to the same source with different techniques. The findings showed that there was an improvement in students’ rhythmic reading abilities from the learning process conducted. After the learning the students’ abilities were improved respectively from 61.89, 67.80 to 86.11. Therefore, students’ abilities in rhythmic reading towards similar musical ensemble can be improved by using model songs media.Keywords: model songs, media, rhythmic reading, student’ abilities

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to improve student learning outcomes in the material characteristics and functions of regional songs using Examples and Non-Examples models. The theory used in this study is Learning and Learning, Learning Outcomes, Understanding Examples and Non-Examples of Models, Strengths and Disadvantages of Examples and Non-Examples Models. The form of this research is classroom action research with procedures for planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of class VIII B, SMP Negeri 25 North Pontianak, amounting to 36 people. Data analysis techniques collected in the form of student learning outcomes data in the material characteristics and functions of folk songs. This research was conducted in two cycles, namely cycle I and II. These results can also be seen from the percentage of completeness in the first cycle, which is 47.2%. In the second cycle student learning outcomes on material characteristics. And the function of folk songs is very good, from cycle I to cycle II, 47.2% to 86.11%. Thus, it can be concluded that the concepts of Examples and Non-Examples models can improve student learning outcomes in the material characteristics and functions of folk songs. Keywords: Examples and Non-Examples Models, Learning Outcomes, Regional Songs
