Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe how elementary school teachers integrate character values in the learning process. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. The subjects of the study consisted of five class teachers in two public elementary schools in city X who were selected purposively. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of lesson implementation plans (RPP). The results of the study indicate that teachers integrate character values such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, and tolerance through various strategies, such as role models, verbal reinforcement, value discussions, and contextual approaches in subject matter. However, the implementation of character value integration still faces several challenges, including time constraints, teacher administrative burdens, and lack of training related to character education. This study is that the integration of character values can be carried out effectively if supported by careful planning, teacher commitment, and a conducive school environment.

Abstract

Abstract

The preference for convenience foods such as junk food and fast food has grown rapidly in line with the adoption of modern lifestyles. The ease of access, speed of preparation, and variety of flavors and shapes are attractive factors for consumers of all ages. Properly processing convenience foods can provide significant benefits, especially when considering nutritional aspects, the use of safe and appropriate food additives, and hygiene during the production process. This training activity aims to increase students' knowledge regarding healthy convenience foods and improve their skills in processing milkfish (Chanos chanos) into nuggets, a processed product with high nutritional value. The training was conducted through lectures, live demonstrations, and group practice sessions, involving groups of students at SMA 2 TARAKAN. The training materials covered the importance of diversifying fish processing, milkfish bone removal techniques, and steps for making hygienic and economical nuggets. Evaluation results based on observations, questionnaires, and discussions showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in processing milkfish into nuggets. Approximately 80% of participants were able to produce final products with good shape, texture, and color, while 20% of participants experienced difficulty in determining the right dough consistency and appropriate frying technique to produce good nugget color and texture. Overall, 92% of participants were able to understand the characteristics of milkfish, the application of cold chain, the application of sanitation in processing, the process of removing milkfish thorns and the process of making fish nuggets., so this activity is expected to support food security and increase knowledge about delicious and nutritious food.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the weaknesses of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 79 Bengkulu City in writing narrative compositions and to identify the contributing factors. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal three main areas of weakness: content, language, and technical aspects. In terms of content, students’ narratives often lack coherent plots, underdeveloped ideas, and unclear beginnings, middles, and endings. From the language aspect, students show limited vocabulary, frequent errors in spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Technically, weaknesses are found in paragraph organization and ineffective sentence structures. These difficulties stem from internal factors, such as low motivation, limited vocabulary, and poor idea organization, as well as external factors, including monotonous teaching methods, insufficient teacher guidance, lack of family support, and the influence of environment and social media. The study highlights the need for varied teaching strategies, stronger collaboration between teachers and parents, and consistent literacy practices to improve students’ narrative writing skills.
