Abstract

In 2020, the government conducted a Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) for students in Indonesia's 5th, 8th, and 11th grades. However, the results of this MCA are still not satisfactory. This research aims to group an area according to the level of data similarity using the k-means clustering method with the categorization of the area into low, medium, and high. This study uses MCA result data on literacy and numeracy for each level of education. From each cluster formed, there are significant differences in characteristics based on testing from the Tukey and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test. From the categorization of the clusters formed, it's expected that the government needs to provide particular interventions in areas included in cluster 1, which consists of 19 provinces in Indonesia with the lowest AKM characteristic scores. The abstract must describe the entire content of the research or written work.

Abstract

Writing is one of the important language abilities for students in universities. However, previous studies indicate that students' writing ability remains low, primarily due to their inadequate basic writing skills. This research is aimed to describe the students’ writing ability of national insight-based text genre in university. A qualitative approach with descriptive method was used in this research. The research subjects consisted of 30 students in a university located in Bekasi, Indonesia. The research data collection techniques consisted of writing tests of national insight-based text genres and interviews. Research data were analyzed through the data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results showed that generally the average of students’ writing ability of national insight-based text genres was still under the minimum standard of passing grade in writing standard of Indonesian language learning in universities. In descriptive and exposition texts, the most difficulties were found in the aspects of content organization, grammar, style (choice of structure and vocabulary), and spelling and grammar. In the procedure text, the difficulties were found in the five indicators of writing ability. Moreover, the content of national insight on the three types of texts have not been fully internalized in the text. This research provides an opportunity for further research regarding the development of national insight-based of Indonesian language teaching materials for students in universities. This study adds new information regarding sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Abstract

One of the challenges faced in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in point eight is the high unemployment rate in several regions. East Java Province is one of the provinces with a relatively high Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) compared to the target set by the provincial government in 2021. In that year, East Java's TPT was recorded at 6.49%, exceeding the specified target of between 3.96% and 4.01%. In addition to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, several other factors are thought to have a significant influence on the East Java TPT. This study aims to model these factors using linear and nonparametric regression with a truncated spline approach to identify the best model. The data used in this study are secondary data from the Badan Pusat Statistika (BPS). The results showed that the best model based on the highest R² value and the lowest RMSE was nonparametric regression with a truncated spline. The variables of district/city minimum wage,Labor Force Participation Rate, and Human Development Index (HDI) have a significant effect on TPT in East Java, where this model is able to explain 91.51% of the variability in the model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends on writing skills learning materials in Indonesianlanguage learning in higher education through bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software. This studyuses a bibliometric analysis method. Data were obtained through Publish or Perish to obtain metadata sourcedfrom Google Scholar between 2010 and 2025. Furthermore, the data were analyzed based on quantity,quality, and structure indicators using the VOSviewer. The results show that from 2015 to 2025, researchtrends on writing skills learning materials in Indonesian language learning in higher education experienced asignificant increase. Although in 2022 and 2025 there was a decline. Network visualization throughVOSviewer shows that the most frequently appearing terms are Indonesian language, learning material,student, and university, while research specifically discussing writing learning materials in Indonesianlanguage learning is still very limited. Articles with the highest citations emphasize learning media andlanguage teaching materials in general. These findings indicate a research gap as well as an opportunity forfurther research to develop teaching materials on writing topics that are more innovative and relevant to theneeds of Indonesian language learning in higher education.Keywords: Bibliometrics, Indonesian Language Learning, Learning Materials, Trends, VOSviewer

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus, also known as diabetes, is an endocrine disease characterized by sustained high blood sugar levels. Diabetes is caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin, or the body's cells becoming unresponsive to the effects of the hormone. Common symptoms include thirst, polyuria, weight loss, and blurred vision. If left untreated, the disease can lead to various health complications, such as disorders of the cardiovascular system, eyes, kidneys, and nerves. In general, the treatment of diabetes mellitus is done with insulin therapy and various synthetic drugs, but these treatments have side effects. Another alternative is treatment using herbs, including salam leaves (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight.) Walp) which can be used as an inhibitor for the α-glucosidase enzyme. This study aims to isolate and determine the levels of β-sitosterol from the ethyl acetate fraction of salam leaves which have α-glucosidase enzyme inhibitory activity. Extraction was carried out by maceration using 96% ethanol, then partitioned with ethyl acetate and water (1:1). The ethyl acetate fraction was tested for the inhibitory activity of the α-glucosidase enzyme, then isolated by column chromatography method (SiO2; i.n-hexane-ethylacetate = 10 : 1 ~ 1 : 1, ethylacetate; ii.n-hexane-ethylacetate = 5 : 1 guided by testing enzyme inhibitory activity until pure isolates were obtained. The isolates were identified by spectrophotometry (IR) compared with the standard β-sitosterol compound. The results showed that isolates F.4-5 was a β-sitosterol compound with a concentration of 177.13 mg/g extract and had α-glukosidase enzyme inhibitory activity with an IC50 of 93.7 μg/mL.

Abstract

Adalah 5 di antara 19 judul cerita dalam buku kumpulan cerita rakyat Patahnya Gunung Daik yakni: 1) Terjadinya Gunung Daik; 2) Bakau dan Perepat; 3) Apek Weng Thai; 4) Pak Dayu; 5) Batin Mabot. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peringkat 5 cerita rakyat dalam buku kumpulan cerita rakyat menurut persepsi siswa SMA. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas XI SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru pada awal semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Populasi penelitian 22 siswa yang mengisi dan menyerahkan kuesioner. Sampel dipilih secara random sederhana dengan jumlah 21 siswa. Penelitian menggunakan kuesioner manual yang memenuhi syarat validitas isi. Data peringkat 5 cerita rakyat dianalisis menggunakan prosedur statistik deskriptif. Prinsip yang digunakan adalah modus dan persen. Temuan pertama penelitian bahwa cerita rakyat ‘Batin Mabot’ menempati peringkat ke-1 di antara 5 cerita rakyat. Temuan kedua penelitian bahwa cerita rakyat ‘Pak Dayu’ menempati peringkat ke-2 di antara 5 cerita rakyat. Temuan ketiga penelitian bahwa cerita rakyat ‘Apek Weng Thai’ menempati peringkat ke-3 di antara 5 cerita rakyat. Temuan keempat penelitian bahwa cerita rakyat ‘Terjadinya Gunung Daik’ menempati peringkat ke-4 di antara 5 cerita rakyat. Temuan kelima penelitian bahwa cerita rakyat ‘Bakau dan Perepat’ menempati peringkat ke-5 di antara 5 cerita rakyat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil uji keterbacaan teks eksposisi di dalam artikel ilmiah jurnal online berbasis tes kloz. Penelitian ini berlangsung di awal semester genap tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Tempat uji coba keterbacaan teks eksposisi berbasis tes kloz di kelas 10 SMA Negeri 6 Karawang, Jawa Barat, Digunakan 44 siswa sebagai anggota sampel yang akan mengisi tes kloz dari 49 siswa kelas 10 yang dipilih secara random. Instrumen penelitian berbentuk tes yakni tes kloz. Teks eksposisi yang diuji tingkat keterbacaan berjumlah 5 teks dengan topik profetik yang tercantum dalam artikel ilmiah jurnal online. Setiap teks eksposisi diubah bentuk menjadi teks kloz. Tes Kloz-1 bersumber dari teks eksposisi-1 dan seterusnya sampai dengan Tes Kloz-5 bersumber dari teks eksposisi-5. Tes Kloz-1 berskor maksimal 38, tes kloz-2 berskor total 36, tes kloz-3 berskor total 34, tes kloz-4 berskor total 40, tes kloz-5 berskor total 34. Data hasil tes kloz diolah secara statistik deskriptif yakni mean skor mentah dan skor baku persen melalui aplikasi SPSS. Setiap siswa mampu mengisi selain kata tugas pada setiap butir pengklozan diberi skor 3, tetapi untuk kata tugas berskor 1 sedangkan siswa yagn tidak dapat menjawab butir pengklozan berskor 0. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa teks eksposisi-1 memiliki keterbacaan dengan kategiri tinggi, teks eksposisi-2 memiliki keterbacaan dengan kategiri sangat tinggi, teks eksposisi-3 memiliki keterbacaan dengan kategiri tinggi, teks eksposisi-4 memiliki keterbacaan dengan kategiri tinggi, dan teks eksposisi-5 memiliki keterbacaan dengan kategiri tinggi.

Abstract

Motivation and learning autonomy determine the level of success in learning languages; even the relationship between the two is considered to affect each other. Learning Indonesian for academic purposes is still underdeveloped at the university level regarding student motivation and learning autonomy. Therefore, understanding both terms can accommodate all parties involved in the learning process toward students' strategies, styles, and needs. This study investigates how the relationship between motivational constructs and autonomy contributes to the sustainability of the Indonesian learning process with academic purposes in higher education. This qualitative study was conducted among 34 undergraduate students who took the general basic Indonesian course at Universitas Trisakti Jakarta. Data was collected using a questionnaire distributed using google form and calculated using a Likert scale of 1 to 4, from strongly agree to strongly disagree to measure the extent to which students show their level of motivation and autonomy in learning academic Indonesian. The results of this study show that the majority of students have instrumental motivation, namely to obtain the passing grade required by Indonesian language course. This answer is closely related to students' belief which is obtained in the Indonesian language course that can help them in facing various tasks in other courses in terms of using academic Indonesian. Regarding learning autonomy, students identified among others, ability, responsibility, and confidence in directing the learning process. This study concludes that students show high motivation and proportionally equal to their learning autonomy.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Bahasa merupakan wahana komunikasi bagi manusia, baik komunikasi lisan maupun komunikasi tulis. Setiap komunikasi, khususnya komunikasi tertulis, dibutuhkan kalimat-kalimat yang baik. Kalimat yang baik erat kaitannya dengan penggunaan kalimat efektif. Berdasarkan fenomena yang terjadi akhir- akhir ini ditemukan bahwa produktivitas guru masih rendah dalam menyampaikan ujaran menggunakan kalimat efektif. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan agar para guru di RA Bani Barun Majalengka dapat memahami dan menerapkan kalimat efektif pada Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris. Metode pelaksanaan pelatihan ini terdiri dari empat tahap diantaranya kegiatan sosialisasi, pengenalan kalimat efektif, pelatihan kalimat efektif, dan praktik penerapan kalimat efektif. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu kompetensi guru mengenai penerapan kalimat efektif meningkat. Hal ini tergambar dari partisipasi aktif para guru dalam menyimak materi, diskusi, dan mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan oleh narasumber. Selain itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini juga tergolong berhasil karena sesuai dengan tahapan-tahapan pelaksanaan yang telah ditentukan. Adapun tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini adalah pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat kembali dengan pola paragraf dan pengembangan paragraf pada bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris. ABSTRACT Language is a means of communication for humans, both oral communication and written communication. Every communication, especially written communication, requires good sentences. Good sentences are closely related to the use of effective sentences. Based on the phenomenon that has occurred recently, it was found that teacher productivity is still low in conveying utterances using effective sentences. This community service program aims to enable teachers of RA Bani Barun Majalengka to understand and apply effective sentences in both Indonesian and English. The method of implementing this training consists of four stages including socialization activities, introduction to effective sentences, training of effective sentences, and practice of applying effective sentences. The result of this activity shows that the teacher's competence regarding the application of effective sentences increases evidenced from the teachers’ active participation in listening to the material, discussion, and working on the assignments given by the presenters. In addition, this community service program is classified as successful since it meets the target proposed by the team. The follow-up theme for the next community service program will be paragraph patterns and paragraph development in Indonesian and English.
