Abstract

The high cost of feed and the demand for increased production efficiency in the super village chicken farming business encourages the need for innovation in the use of environmentally friendly natural materials. Ecoenzymes, as a result of organic waste fermentation, have the potential to support digestive health and nutrient utilization so that they are expected to improve the growth performance of super village chickens. This study aims to determine how the provision of eco-enzymes in drinking water mixtures affects the growth of super village chickens aged 3-10 weeks and To determine at what level the provision of eco-enzymes in drinking water mixtures affects the growth of super village chickens aged 3-10 weeks. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were E0 = Chickens without eco-enzyme in the drinking water mixture, E1 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 20 ml of drinking water mixture, E2 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 40 ml of drinking water mixture, E3 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 60 ml of drinking water mixture and E4 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 80 ml of drinking water mixture. The results showed that the provision of eco-enzyme in the drinking water mixture had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the initial body weight, weight gain, final body weight, ration consumption, and FCR value of super kampung chickens. However, the provision of eco-enzyme had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on drinking water consumption. Although statistically insignificant, there was a tendency for increased body weight gain and feed efficiency in treatments E3 and E4. It was concluded that the provision of eco-enzyme up to 80 ml in drinking water has not been able to significantly improve the growth performance of super kampung chickens at the age of 3–10 weeks.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Moringa leaf meal on broiler chicken ration to the weight of internal organs, triglyceride levels and HDL. The material used in the study was 60 broiler chicken age 2 weeks strain CP707. The design used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and four replications in each treatment. The five treatments are 100% commercial rations without moringa leaf meal as control and 100% commercial rations with 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% moringa leaf meal. Parameters observed included, liver weight, gizzard weight, meat triglyceride levels, and HDL levels of meat. The data obtained were analyzed by completely randomized design. If among the treatments showed significant differences, then the study will be continued by Duncan's multiple-range test. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the addition of moringa leaf meal at level 10% in the ration is the optimal level to decrease the triglyceride of meat without disturbing the HDL content in the meat and the addition of moringa leaf meal up to 12% in the ration does not give a negative effect on the weight of internal organs. Abstract

The ration must meet quality requirements because the provision of the quality ration is an important factor that determines the success of broiler chicken farming. Bean sprouts waste flour has the potential as one of the ingredients in broiler chicken ration and is a source of vegetable protein. Protein content in bean sprouts waste flourishes quite high, but the crude fiber content is also high so fermentation needs to be done to improve digestibility and nutritional quality. The quality of feed ingredients that form the ration greatly influences the final product made, which is ration. The purpose of this study was to determine with certainty the water content, ash content, BETN, and ME of finisher phase broiler chicken rations containing fermented bean sprouts waste flour by proximate analysis. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications in each treatment. The treatments applied were P0 = rations without fermented bean sprouts waste flour, P1 = rations with 3% bean sprouts waste flour, P2 = rations with 6% bean sprouts waste flour and P3 = rations with 9% Bean sprouts waste flour The variables analyzed were water content, ash content, BETN and ME ration. The results of this study indicate the use of fermented bean sprouts waste flour in finisher phase broiler chicken ration significantly (P

Abstract

The community widely uses the demand for livestock products such as meat because they have good taste and high nutritional content. One source of meat is quail meat. Quail meat has a high nutritional value and is not inferior to other poultry. Quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) is one of the poultry commodities that has a role in producing animal protein. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving fermented rice bran in the ratio to the weight and percentage of carcasses as well as the weight and percentage of non-carcass male quail aged seven weeks and to determine the level of giving fermented rice bran in the diet of male quail to the best weight and percentage of carcasses and weight and percentage of non-carcass male quail aged seven weeks. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. Each replication consisted of 3 male quail so that the number of male quails used was 45. The treatments were applied as follows, rations with unfermented rice bran 20% and rations with fermented rice bran 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Parameters observed were slaughter weight, carcass weight, non-carcass weight, carcass percentage, and non-carcass percentage. The data obtained were analyzed for variance. If there are significantly different results (P <0.05) between treatments, Duncan's smallest total distance test is carried out. The study results show that the administration of fermented rice bran in the male quail aged seven weeks showed no significant difference (P>0.05) on cut weight, carcass weight, non-carcass weight, carcass percentage, and non-carcass percentage. Based on the results of this study, it can be suggested in making male quail rations to use fermented rice bran to a level of 15% because it can increase the protein content of the ration and can increase slaughter weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage as well as in rice bran fermentation it is necessary to use another fermenter so that protein rice bran becomes higher so that the protein ration increases and is also expected to reduce the crude fiber content of the ration

Abstract

Abstract

Bede grass (Brachiaria decumbens) is a high-quality forage plant commonly used as green fodder due to its favorable growth characteristics, biomass production, and nutritional value. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of solid organic fertilizer application and different fertilizer doses on the growth and production of Bede grass. The experiment was conducted using a randomized block design with five treatments and three replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (without solid organic fertilizer), P1 (10 tons/ha), P2 (20 tons/ha), P3 (30 tons/ha), and P4 (40 tons/ha) of solid organic fertilizer. The results showed that the application of solid organic fertilizer had no significant effect (P>0.05) on most growth and production parameters of Brachiaria decumbens, except for fresh leaf yield, which was significantly affected (P<0.05). These findings indicate that the application of solid organic fertilizer at different doses did not significantly influence vegetative growth. However, the application rate of 30 tons/ha tended to produce better growth and yield compared to other treatments, although the differences were not statistically significant. Further research is recommended to consider environmental factors such as soil properties and light intensity to better understand the response of Brachiaria decumbens to solid organic fertilizer. The use of a 30 tons/ha fertilizer dose may be considered due to its tendency to provide optimal results.

Abstract

Background: Laying hens can produce eggs in approximately six months, with a production rate of around 250-300 eggs per hen per year. Egg production is heavily influenced by genetic and environmental factors. High temperatures in the hen's rearing environment can negatively impact the health and productivity of the hens. Purpose: This study aims to determine whether the height of the cage affects the physical quality of chicken eggs in Tabanan Regency, Bali. Method: This study uses analysis of variance (ANOVA) for normally distributed data, and if significant (p <0.05), it continues with Duncan. Results: Chicken eggs produced in highlands have a yolk color ranging from 8-9, while those in medium altitudes show a color value of 6-7. The pH value of chicken eggs does not differ significantly at each cage altitude, ranging from 7.0-8.0. The height of the laying hen cage does not affect the yolk index (IKT) and egg white index (IPT). Chicken eggs obtained in highlands have a lower haught unit value compared to those in medium altitudes, meaning the overall quality of chicken eggs in medium altitudes is better, indicating better chicken metabolism when raised in medium altitudes. This is supported by the number of laying hen cages that are more common in medium altitude areas, indicating that laying hen farmers produce better chicken eggs in medium altitudes. Conclusion: The height of the laying hen cage has a significant effect on the color and haught of the chicken egg unit, but does not have a significant effect on pH, egg yolk index and egg white index.

Abstract

Fermented Feed for Cattle Based on Local Resources in the “Lembah telaga” Livestock Farmers Group, Gumantar Village, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. Gumantar is a village located in Kayangan District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. This village has agricultural and plantation potential with the main products being rice, corn, peanuts, cashews, coffee, cocoa, coconut, bananas, and other horticultural crops. The problem that is often encountered is the very limited availability of food in the dry season. This makes many breeders sell their livestock at low prices during the dry season. Another problem is farmers' low knowledge of storage and preservation technology for feed ingredients as feed in the dry season. In the rainy season, the available food is quite abundant. Therefore, it is necessary to provide training regarding animal feed storage and preservation technology. One method that is widely used and easy to do is making fermented feed. Fermentation is the process of changing  organic materials into other, more useful materials with the help of microorganisms in a controlled manner. The aim of fermentation is to reduce anti-nutritional substances, increase digestibility, increase shelf life and increase selling value. The final fermentation product contains compounds that are simpler and easier to digest than the source material. After the implementation team provided outreach to partners, knowledge of the types of forage waste for feed increased from 40% to 80%. Increase in forage nutrition (protein) from 6.7% to 16.45%. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in farmers' ability to make fermented feed, the fermented feed produced could be stored for 6 months and there was an increase in the nutritional value of the feed.
