Abstract

This is a descriptive research which depicts essentially the object and explains more detail and systematic about student’ conceptual understanding on plane geometry towards the students who have visual, auditory, kinesthetic studying style. The subject was selected based on the questionnaire which was deployed in a class, which consists of 28 students, at SMP Muhammadiyah Watansoppeng. In the process, there were 3 steps; first, giving information about the goal of research and once in a while giving the questionnaire of studying style. Second, giving the test and doing observation step. Third, doing interview in order to know more information about how the students answer the problems on the test. The used instruments were the researcher, questionnaire of studying style, test of plane geometry-concept comprehention, and interview outlines. The result of this research showed that a student with visual-studying style was sufficiently able to meet two of five indicators demand which had been determined. But the student with auditory-studying style unable to meet the five indicators demand which had been determined

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research using descriptive research method which aims to explain or describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities in solving questions based on jumping tasks based on students' self-efficacy. The subjects of this study were 3 (three) students from class XI. Data collection techniques in this study were tests, questionnaires and interviews. The instruments used to obtain data were self-efficacy questionnaires, test questions (jumping task-based math problems), and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques in this study include data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: (1) students who have high self-efficacy are able to fulfill the four stages of Polya's problem solving so that their problem solving abilities are high.; (2) students who have moderate self-efficacy are only able to fulfill three stages of Polya's problem solving so that their problem-solving abilities are classified as moderate; (3) students who have low self-efficacy are only able to fulfills one stage of Polya's problem solving so that the problem solving ability is low

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Kajian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Terdapat enam subjek penelitian yang masing-masing mewakili kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah untuk siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 6 level kemampuan literasi matematika, subjek laki-laki dan subjek perempuan dengan kemampuan literasi matematis tinggi dan sedang berada pada level 3. Sementara itu, kemampuan literasi matematis subjek laki-laki dan subjek perempuan dengan kemampuan literasi matematis rendah berada pada level 1.
