Abstract

Penggunaan Herbisida bahan aktif Paraquat dichloride dalam perkebunan kelapa sawit telah menimbulkan kekhawatiran akan dampak lingkungan yang serius. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak lingkungan yang diakibatkan oleh penggunaan bahan Paraquat dichloride di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Artikel ini memaparkan kajian mengenai penggunaan herbisida Paraquat dichloride dengan Pendekatan Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis Item (PRISMA) yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi, menyaring, dan memasukkan artikel yang relevan. Mengidentifikasi artikel terkait penggunaan bahan aktif Paraquat dichloride di sektor perkebunan kelapa sawit yang memenuhi syarat untuk analisis menjadi salah satu metode penulisan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tingkat residu yang tinggi dalam penggunaan Paraquat dichloride dalam tanah dan air di sekitar perkebunan. Temuan menunjukkan adanya akumulasi residu Paraquat dichloride yang sering dikenal dengan merk dagang Gramoxone yang melebihi ambang batas yang aman, berpotensi merugikan kualitas tanah dan air, serta mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa sawit itu sendiri. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa Gramoxone memiliki dampak terhadap keberagaman hayati di sekitar perkebunan dengan penurunan signifikan dalam keberagaman flora dan fauna. Hal ini menandakan dampak negatif terhadap ekosistem lokal. Sehingga dari artikel ini menyoroti urgensi untuk menerapkan praktik pengelolaan pestisida yang berkelanjutan dalam industri kelapa sawit. Diperlukan langkah-langkah perlindungan lingkungan yang diperkuat, termasuk pemantauan terhadap penggunaan Gramoxone serta pengembangan alternatif yang lebih ramah lingkungan.Temuan pada artikel juga diharapkan dapat memberikan ilmu pengetahuan dan dasar yang kuat bagi perumusan kebijakan yang mendukung keberlanjutan industri kelapa sawit dan pelestarian ekosistem di sekitarnya.

Abstract

Sustainable agriculture and plantations are at the heart of efforts to address global challenges related to soil sustainability and productivity. One important aspect in increasing soil productivity is the use of fertilizers. This article examines the effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on soil chemical properties, with the aim of gaining an understanding of the effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on soil fertility. Organic fertilizers such as manure have the advantage of increasing the organic matter content in the soil. Increasing organic matter increases the cation exchange capacity of the soil, improves soil structure and increases water holding capacity. This makes the soil more fertile and better able to support plant growth. In contrast, inorganic fertilizers such as urea directly supply essential nutrients to plants. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium contained in inorganic fertilizers rapidly increase plant growth. However, excessive use of inorganic fertilizers can increase soil acidity and disrupt the balance of soil nutrients. This article also discusses the importance of using a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers. The combination of the two produces a positive synergistic effect where organic fertilizers increase nutrient retention from inorganic fertilizers and vice versa. Therefore, the integration of the two can provide optimal long-term benefits for the soil. By better understanding the impact of these fertilizers, we can develop more effective strategies to sustainably improve soil fertility.

Abstract

The use of pesticides containing the active ingredient Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl-glycine) in oil palm plantations has raised concerns about serious environmental impacts. This article aims to analyze the environmental impacts caused by the use of Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl-glycine) in oil palm plantations. This article presents a study of the use of the herbicide Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl-glycine) with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis Item (PRISMA) Approach used to identify, filter, and include relevant articles. Identifying articles related to the use of the active ingredient Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl-glycine) in the oil palm plantation sector that meet the requirements for analysis is one of the writing methods. The findings indicate that there are high levels of residues in the use of Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl-glycine) in the soil and water around the plantation. The findings show the accumulation of residues of Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl-glycine) which is often known by the trade name Roundup which exceeds the safe threshold, has the potential to harm soil and water quality, and affect the growth of oil palm plants themselves. The findings also show that Roundup has an impact on biodiversity around the plantation with a significant decrease in the diversity of flora and fauna. This indicates a negative impact on the local ecosystem. So this article highlights the urgency to implement sustainable pesticide management practices in the oil palm industry. Strengthened environmental protection measures are needed, including monitoring the use of Roundup and developing more environmentally friendly alternatives.
