Abstract

This study is a systematic literature review aimed at describing various research findings related to students’ mathematical reasoning ability in relation to their self-efficacy levels. The method used is a systematic literature review by applying the keywords self-efficacy and reasoning ability, along with predefined inclusion criteria to select relevant articles. Articles that met the inclusion criteria were then analyzed qualitatively to draw valid and accountable conclusions. The results of the analysis reveal inconsistencies across studies regarding the influence of self-efficacy on students’ mathematical reasoning ability. Differences were also found in how varying levels of self-efficacy affect students’ performance in solving mathematical reasoning tasks. These discrepancies may stem from several factors, including sample limitations, differences in methodological approaches, the theoretical frameworks adopted, and variations in contextual field conditions. Therefore, further research is needed that involves more diverse variables and employs more comprehensive methodological designs to gain a more consistent and holistic understanding of the relationship between self-efficacy and students’ mathematical reasoning ability.

Abstract

Entering the new normal era in the UINSU Medan, the campus has established a blended learning system as a learning method. Although blended learning is good as an alternative to learning method in the new normal era, it still had limitations. If viewed from the perspective of students, they have difficulties when took blended learning. This difficulty will certainly affect the learning outcomes of the students themselves. This of course cannot be left alone, it is necessary to in depth analysis of student difficulties when took blended learning and then find the right solution to solve these difficulties. This research focuses to find out students’ difficulties when taking Calculus Vector Class through blended learning method after COVID-19 pandemic era. This is a descriptive qualitative study. The subjects of this study are students of Calculus Vector class in the fourth semester of the Department of Mathematics Education, UINSU Medan. This research uses interview method and questionnaires as data collection instruments. The results show that students' difficulties are divided into technical difficulties, student adaptation difficulties, and lecturer adaptation difficulties. Learning strategies must be developed to address these difficulties and to bolster students’ adaptation to blended learning class

Abstract

Students must have critical thinking skills to face the challenges of complex mathematics learning. Howver, the fact in the field shows that study are still classified as lacking in critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine how effective the quantum learning model is on students' mathematical critical thinking skills in the material of arithmetic sequences. This study was conducted at Karya Utama Junior High School in Serdang Bedagai Regency. A quantitative approach was used and a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group. The results of the study were conducted randomly, with 30 studies each in the experimental group of class VIII d and the control group of class VIII B. The results showed an average posttest score of the experimental class of 79.66, which was higher than the control class of 70.66, and a significance value of 0.003 <0.05. Therefor, H0 was rejected and ha was accepted. The results showed that the quantum learning model was effective in improving the ability to think critically mathematically.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa video animasi berbasis model Flipped Classroom pada materi barisan aritmatika serta menguji kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifannya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Produk yang dihasilkan berupa RPP, LKPD, instrumen tes, dan video animasi. Validasi dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan media, sedangkan uji coba dilakukan pada kelompok kecil (6 siswa) dan kelompok besar (36 siswa) di SMAN 1 Selesai. Hasil validasi memperoleh skor rata-rata 83,3% (sangat valid). Uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh skor 86,7% dan kelompok besar 83,3%, sedangkan respon guru 84%, sehingga perangkat termasuk kategori “sangat praktis”. Keefektifan ditunjukkan melalui ketuntasan klasikal 86%, dengan 31 dari 36 siswa mencapai nilai ≥ 85 sesuai KKM. Dengan demikian, media video animasi berbasis Flipped Classroom dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif, sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. ABSTRACT This study aims to develop learning media in the form of animated videos based on the Flipped Classroom model for arithmetic sequences and to test its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The research method used Research and Development (R&D) with the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The products produced were lesson plans, student worksheets, test instruments, and animated videos. Validation was carried out by subject matter and media experts, while trials were conducted on a small group (6 students) and a large group (36 students) at SMAN 1 Selesai. The validation results obtained an average score of 83.3% (highly valid). The small group trial obtained a score of 86.7% and the large group 83.3%, while the teacher response was 84%, so the tools were categorized as “very practical”. Effectiveness was demonstrated through a classical completion rate of 86%, with 31 out of 36 students achieving a score of ≥ 85 according to the minimum passing grade. Thus, the Flipped Classroom-based animated video media was declared valid, practical, and effective, making it an alternative learning media to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Kurang bervariasinya model yang dipraktekkan guru pada pembelajaran disebabkan oleh minimnya pengetahuan guru terkait model yang menarik dan interaktif. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru matematika di SMP Al Ulum Medan dalam mempraktikkan model pembelajaran inquiry berbantuan kalkulator. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh guru SMP Al Ulum Medan yang berjumlah 8 orang. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan serangkaian kegiatan, pertama workshop terkait model pembelajaran inquiry berbantuan kalkulator, kedua pelatihan teknis terkait implementasi dari model pembelajaran inquiry berbantuan kalkulator dan ketiga yaitu pendampingan dan praktik langsung dimana guru mempraktikkan model tersebut di dalam kelas masing-masing. Setelah dilaksanakannya serangkaian kegiatan pengabdian ini, diperoleh bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan guru yang awalnya berada di angka 65,4 menjadi 87,5. Begitu juga hasil praktik model inquiry berbantuan kalkulator, diperoleh rata-rata pelaksanaannya 90% serta tingkat kepuasan guru terhadap kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan mencapai angka 85,7%. Hasil evaluasi ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan berhasil mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan.
