Abstract

This research discusses the impact of the Independent Campus Learning Policy (MBKM) launched by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture. MBKM has created a new paradigm in the education system in Indonesia, especially in higher education. Tadulako University, as an educational institution that follows government policy directions, has implemented the MBKM program. In this context, geography education has been implemented and entered the next generation. Therefore, evaluation of the effectiveness of this program is considered important. Previous research has revealed the positive impact of Merdeka Belajar Merdeka Campus on student quality. Student quality involves increasing knowledge, understanding, experience, creativity, communication skills, social relations, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. This study investigates the impact of MBKM activities on students' abilities, particularly in basic competencies such as literacy, numeracy, and geography knowledge. This research method is a descriptive quantitative approach using survey methods. The survey was conducted on students who had participated in the MBKM program. The research instrument is a competency test that involves aspects of literacy, numeracy, and general knowledge of geography. The results showed that the MBKM program had a positive impact on improving student abilities. The geography education study program is also seen as excellent, with a literacy understanding level reaching 50% in the adequate category, a numeracy understanding level of 39% in the adequate category, and a general knowledge understanding level reaching 44% in the good category

Abstract

Education is a basic human need with the aim of achieving high productivity. The results of field surveys in Banawa Regency show that the availability of educational facilities to meet educational needs, based on population projections in 2044, has not yet reached the optimal level. Therefore, careful planning is needed in improving and placing educational facilities. This research aims to evaluate the availability of educational facilities according to the needs of the population, by applying an analysis of the carrying capacity of facilities based on public service standards regulated in SNI 03-1733-2004 concerning urban area planning. The methodology used involves analysis of the carrying capacity of facilities to determine the population's need for educational facilities, population projections using geometric formulas to calculate the expected number of residents in the projected year, as well as spatial analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) software to assess the distribution of facilities. education in Banawa District. The findings from this research indicate that currently there are 82 units of educational facilities in Banawa District, consisting of 39 PAUD units, 31 elementary school units, 8 junior high school units, and 4 high school units. However, additional educational facilities are needed by 7 PAUD units, 5 elementary school units, 4 junior high school units and 8 high school units in Banawa District.Keywords: Education, Facilities, Carrying Capacity, Banawa

Abstract

Mangrove forests are one of the natural resources found on the coast and function as a buffer for coastal ecosystems. The aim of this research is to describe community participation in managing mangrove tourism in Masani Village, Poso Pesisir District, Poso Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with an ecological approach. The subjects in this research were Masani village officials, tourism managers and the community. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that the Masani village community participates in planning activities, implementation activities such as planting and replanting mangroves, building tourist facilities, maintaining and managing mangrove tourism. Forms of community participation are in the form of energy and thought. Overall, community participation in managing mangrove tourism is relatively high.

Abstract

Pemahaman kesiapsiagaan bencana sangat penting dimiliki oleh semua siswa sehingga kesiapsiagaan banjir yang dikemas dalam virtual reality dan dikembangkan untuk pengembangan media pembelajaran geografi. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengimplementasikan virtual reality dalam membangun kesiapsiagaan banjir pada siswa SMAN 1 Torue. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan rancangan pretest dan posttest pada dua kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS 17 untuk uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji n-gain, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest kelas eksperimen yaitu 70,1 dan nilai rata-rata posttest 88,5. Dari hasil pretest dan posttest dapat dilihat perbedaan pemahaman materi pada siswa sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan setelah diberikan perlakuan. Perbedaan ini diperkuat dengan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 diperoleh value 0,00 dari = 0,05, karena nilai value nilai tabel maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima artinya terdapat perbedaan pemahaman materi pada siswa yang menggunakan VR pada proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to identify riverbank erosion in some Tibo villages, Sindue Tambusabora District, Donggala Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a spatial approach. The data analysis technique used in this study includes a qualitative descriptive analysis in the form of a unit analysis of the area of landform from the fluvial process in Tibo Village, Sindue Tambusabora District, Donggala Regency. The data used in this study include primary data and secondary data. Primary data are the results of field ground checks and direct measurements, while secondary data are Landsat 8 OLI images and RBI maps of 1:50,000 scale 2015-65. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a spatial approach. The data analysis technique used in this study includes a qualitative descriptive analysis in the form of a unit analysis of the landform area from which the fluvial process originated in the village of Tibo. Mild to moderate erosion and sedimentation rates. Erosion of cliffs is very high, especially at the bend of the river where erosion occurs due to high river discharge so that many charred rivers are found in Tibo village due to high erosion and sedimentation.

Abstract

Teknologi Global Positioning System (GPS) merupakan salah satu teknologi yang dapat digunakan untuk menentukan titik lokasi suatu tempat di permukaan bumi. Salah satu dari tools yang ada dalam GPS yaitu penentuan koordinat. Penentuan lokasi koodinat ini penting bagi seorang geografer untuk menandai dan membuat titik di suatu tempat. Tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu membuat ploting titik koodinat dengan GPS pada situs cagar budaya Megalit Pokekea. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk pengabdian dan pengaplikasian ilmu geografi kepada mahasiwa melalui pendampingan langsung di lapangan. Hasil pengabdian yaitu penentuan titik koordinat Situs Megalitikum Pokekea dengan Global Positioning System (GPS) berada pada 141025’582” LS dan 120012’45.966” dan UTM 51 S. Hasil pelaksanaan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan output peningkatan soft skill bagi mahasiswa dalam mengoperasikan GPS khususnya dalam penentuan koordinat lokasi di suatu tempat.

Abstract

Abstract: Proses pembelajaran yang monoton, kurangnya sumber belajar yang efektif serta minim penggunaan pendekatan inovatif menjadi permasalahan utama bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan jelajah alam sekitar terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa SMA. Jenis penelitian ini Quasi Eksperiment, Pretest Postest Non Equivalent Control Group Design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, melibatkan sampel dari kelas XI IPS 1 yang terdiri dari 33 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas XI IPS 2 yang berjumlah 26 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol, dengan total populasi penelitian sebanyak 83 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi tes tulis dan tes non-tulis. Tes tulis diperoleh melalui pelaksanaan pretest dan postest 15 soal (PG) dan 3 soal (Esay) sedangkan tes non tulis diperoleh dari hasil lembar penilaian diskusi dan portofolio. Hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis akhir (Uji t) yang dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS Versi 25.0 For Windows menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas kontrol sebesar 75,1, sedangkan di kelas eksperimen rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh sebesar 85,7. Nilai signifikan (sig) (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima artinya terdapat pengaruh pendekatan jelajah alam sekitar terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa SMA.Abstract: The monotonous learning process, lack of effective learning resources and minimal use of innovative approaches are the main problems for students. This research aims to determine the effect of the environmental exploration approach on high school students' critical thinking abilities. This type of research is Quasi Experimental, Pretest Posttest Non Equivalent Control Group Design with a quantitative approach, involving samples from class XI IPS 1 consisting of 33 students as the experimental group and class The instruments used in this research include written tests and non-written tests. The written test is obtained through carrying out a pretest and posttest of 15 questions (PG) and 3 questions (Esay) while the non-written test is obtained from the results of the discussion and portfolio assessment sheets. The results of the final hypothesis test calculation (t test) carried out using the SPSS Version 25.0 For Windows application showed that the average critical thinking ability of students in the control class was 75.1, while in the experimental class the average score obtained was 85.7. The significant value (sig) (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the natural exploration approach on high school students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

The main objective of this paving block production initiative is to address the waste problem in North Tomoli Village. The community was encouraged to work together to tackle waste issues and create a cleaner and more beautiful village environment. Waste management—particularly of plastic waste and similar materials—was the primary focus of the community service team in this activity. The method employed in this community service program was direct training provided to residents, conducted in three phases: the initial stage, the process stage, and the final stage. This training focused on the technical aspects of paving block production, with active community involvement throughout the process. Through this training approach, it is expected that the residents and village officials of North Tomoli will be able to manage waste in their surroundings independently. As a result, the volume of waste can be reduced and even transformed into products of economic value. The outcome of this community service activity indicates that the program was successfully implemented, and the community was able to produce paving blocks independently. With effective waste utilization and management, it is hoped that the residents can contribute to reducing environmental pollution in North Tomoli Village.

Abstract

Budaya literasi di era saat ini sudah menjadi tuntutan yang wajib dimiliki oleh guru maupun siswa di sekolah. Kemampuan literasi yang salah satunya dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran adalah literasi geografi (geo-lieracy) untuk mendukung pembelajaran geografi di tingkat menengah atas, khususnya mencakup pada materi-materi geosfer, lingkungan, dan kependudukan. Di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) topik dan kajian Sistem Informasi Geografis menjadi mata pelajaran wajib pada pembelajaran Geografi. Output dari siswa SMA setidaknya harus memiliki keterampilan dasar terkait pemetaan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan metode terapan dengan teknik pendampingan. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dibedakan menjadi 3 tahapan, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap analisis. Pengabdian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 5 Sigi dengan sampel 20 siswa. Kesimpulan akhir pada kegiatan ini adalah pengetahuan geo-literacy siswa di SMA Negeri 5 Sigi yaitu siswa dapat memahami literasi geografi secara spasial dengan menyebutkan keterkaitan antar objek yang ada di tempat tinggalnya masing-masing. Aspek pengetahuan yaitu dapat memahami hubungan antar koneksi dimana mereka berada. Penguasaan geo-literacy penting untuk diberikan kepada siswa terkait lima konsep dasar yaitu lokasi, tempat, hubungan manusia dan lingkungan, perpindahan, serta wilayah.
