Abstract

In Indonesia, anemia in adolescents increased from 37.1% in 2013 to 48.9% in 2018, with the proportion of anemia in the age group 15-24 years and 25-34 years. Female adolescents who have anemia will be at risk of anemia during pregnancy, at risk of giving birth to LBW, and stunting. This study was to evaluate an iron tablet supplementation program for female adolescents in Pasar Rebo Health Care. This study was evaluation research that used the qualitative method with purposive sampling in January - February 2020. A qualitative study was conducted by in-depth interviews with nutritionists, health teachers, school administrators, and female adolescents. Data were analyzed by content analysis, included input, process, and output. Quantitative data were also collected which is hemoglobin and iron tablet compliance. At the input stage, there were discrepancies in the facilities and infrastructure. At the process, stage nonconformities occur in distribution, monitoring, recording, and reporting. At the output, stage nonconformities occur in target accuracy, time, and distribution. There were still incompatibilities in its implementation in Pasar Rebo Health Care.

Abstract

Consumption of fruits and vegetables is one of the components in fulfilling balanced nutrition. Consumption of fruits and vegetables of the Indonesian population is still low, especially in school-age children or teenagers. This study aimed to analyze the effect of nutrition education with the normal lecturer and audiovisual media on knowledge and consumption pattern of fruit and vegetable of junior high school students. This research used a quasi-experimental design pretest-posttest one control group design in class VII SMPN 246 January-February 2017. Targets were selected through screening then selected who have an average of at least fruit and vegetable consumption. There were 2 groups in this study, lecture group and video combination lecture group, consisting of 36 subjects. Knowledge and consumption data of fruits were measured before and after the intervention. The intervention was carried out once and the post-test measurement 1 week after the intervention. Data analysis using t-test. Knowledge increases after getting education both in group lectures and video combination lectures. There was a significant increase in knowledge and consumption of fruits and vegetables after the intervention in the lecture group and the combination group. There was no difference in knowledge (p = 0,169), fruit consumption (p = 0,417) and vegetable consumption (p = 0,417) between students who were given nutrition education with lecture media and those who were given nutrition education with video combination lecture media.

Abstract

Dehydration is not only caused by loss of body fluids, but is also influenced by physical activity and adequate fluid consumption. Students carry out various kinds of activities, so that the level of fluid consumption from drinks in students varies. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between fluid intake and physical activity with the incidence of dehydration. This study used a cross sectional study design with 184 male students as subjects at the National University. Data were taken in the form of characteristics, smoking habits, fluid intake (amount and type), as well as physical activity and dehydration conditions. The prevalence of dehydration found among students at the National University of Jakarta was 36,4%. The average amount of fluids consumed by the National University students was 2346,49 ± 1142,05 SD. There was a significant relationship between the amount of fluids consumed and dehydrated conditions (p 0,000), and there was a significant relationship between physical activity and dehydration conditions (p 0,026). There were significant difference in the average fluid intake consumed and physical activity with dehydrated conditions.
