Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an acute febrile disease caused by the dengue virus, which is transmitted by various species of Aedes mosquitoes. The SEIR model is a mathematical model for studying the spread of dengue fever. In this model, it is assumed that some mosquito eggs have been infected because infected mosquitoes can transmit the virus to their eggs. The main vector of this disease is the Aedes albopictus mosquito. Analysis was carried out to assess the stability of the equilibrium point, and numerical simulations were carried out to see changes in population numbers due to changes in parameter values. A disease-free equilibrium (DFE) point, which is stable given the basic reproductive number . An endemic point whose stability is guaranteed if the value . The numerical simulations show that an increasing mosquito mortality rate decreases the number of exposed, susceptible humans. Furthermore, an increase in the average bite of an infected mosquito will increase the number of exposed, susceptible humans. For the mosquito population, increasing mosquitoes’ mortality rate will decrease the number of exposed, susceptible mosquitoes. Finally, an increase in the average bite of an infected mosquito will increase the number of exposed, susceptible mosquitoes.

Abstract

Grace bakery is a home industry in making bread. The problem experienced by Grace Bakery is that Grace Bakery has not planned to optimize bread production, this has caused losses for Grace Bakery and sales have not been maximized. This research aims to formulate a mathematical model for optimizing bread production using integer goal programming and to obtain optimization results for bread production planning using integer goal programming with the help of the Lingo application. The method used to solve this integer goal programming problem is branch and bound. By using integer goal programming, the branch and bound method and with the help of the Lingo application, the research results show that Grace Bakery must produce 3993 chocolate breads, 1334 cheese breads and 4237 mocha breads every month so that Grace Bakery will earn a maximum income of Rp. 17.280.000. Revenue will reach optimal results if all the bread is sold out and there is no increase in raw materials. Grace bakery can also reduce production costs to Rp. 11.670.092,5 every month.

Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of employing the Problem-Based Learning approach in the acquisition of Trigonometry concepts. This study examines four metrics of learning efficacy: student learning outcomes, student engagement during the learning process, student feedback on learning, and the teacher's aptitude in facilitating learning. This research falls under the category of quantitative descriptive research. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 Manado during the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The study included a sample of 38 students from class X-I. The employed data collection approaches include testing, observation, and administering questionnaires. The study determined that the utilization of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach in teaching Trigonometry content yielded positive results. This is exemplified by the attainment of the four metrics that measure the efficacy of utilizing the learning model: (1) Student learning results in the subject matter are classified as thoroughly comprehensive. (2) Student activities during the learning process are classified as satisfactory. (3) Students exhibit a favorable attitude towards the learning process. (4) The teacher's aptitude for overseeing the learning process is exceptional.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Many mathematics researchers and teachers have carried out innovations in mathematics learning. However, there are still many obstacles faced by teachers and even students themselves, especially regarding learning outcomes in straight-line equations. This study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes taught using the problem-based learning model and the direct instruction model on straight-line equation material. The method used is a quantitative method with a posttest-only-control group design. The research subjects were class VIIIB students and class VIIIC students at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. The instrument used is a test in a description to assess student learning outcomes in straight-line equation material. The results of statistical calculations show that t_count=3.808 and t_table=1.682 for db=42 and ?=0.05. So that t_count>t_tabel is thus based on the testing criteria, if t_count>t_tabel, then reject H_0, meaning that the average student learning outcomes in PGL material taught using the PBL model are more than the average PGL learning outcomes for students taught using the IN models. Therefore, the PBL model can be used as the primary reference for teachers in developing mathematics learning, especially in PGL material.
