Abstract

Ecoprint is a coloring technique that uses plants in the environment such as leaves, flowers and other part of plants. This community service conducted in Kalobba Village, Tellulimpoe, Sinjai, South Sulawesi with the target of this activity was the housewives on that village. The aim of this activity is to improve community skills in making household linen using ecoprint techniques. The methods used in implementing this community service include: Lecture and demonstration methods. The activities began with a basic theory socialization activity regarding ecoprint training. The method of delivering training material adapts to the goals to be achieved, such as increasing knowledge, skills and forming attitudes is a strategy for implementing the training. Training participants gain knowledge about the potential of the surrounding environment, such as plants as natural dyes, knowledge about mordants and the ecoprint process and its fixation. Community service activities received a very good response from participants and the local government. For further development, it is hoped that the community can utilize the surrounding natural potential which has commercial value and economic value so that it can improve the people's standard living and reduce the unemployment rate.

Abstract

Mastery of digital technology is one of the essential skills in the business world, especially in the field of Culinary Arts, where online product marketing can expand market reach. However, students of the D4 Culinary Arts Study Program, Family Welfare Education Department, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University still have limitations in utilizing digital technology, especially in creating websites as a marketing medium. This article aims to describe the implementation of WordPress-based website creation training for 50 students with the aim of improving their skills in marketing products digitally. The training method includes delivering theoretical materials, direct practice, and evaluating results. The training was carried out through several stages, namely introducing basic digital marketing concepts, operating WordPress, creating a simple website, and publishing product content. The results of the training showed that the majority of participants succeeded in creating a functional website as a product marketing medium, with a significant increase in their ability to understand and implement digital marketing strategies. In addition, students appreciated this training as a strategic initial step in supporting the innovation and sustainability of their business.  This activity has a positive impact on students' mastery of digital technology, as well as opening up opportunities for the development of similar training with more complex advanced materials. Thus, this community service is a real contribution in answering the need for students' digital skills in the modern era.

Abstract

Program Praktisi Mengajar memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Perguruan tinggi mengundang praktisi sebagai dosen tamu atau sebagai instruktur mata kuliah tertentu dengan harapan untuk memberikan pengalaman praktis kepada mahasiswa agar lebih siap dalam menghadapi dunia kerja setelah lulus. Namun, masih banyak pertanyaan yang belum terjawab mengenai efektivitas kegiatan praktisi mengajar dalam meningkatkan capaian mata kuliah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali bagaimana program pengaruh tingkat kesiapan praktisi dalam proses belajar mengajar terhadap peningkatan Skill Mahasiswa jurusan PKK FT UNM, sekaligus mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa atas program praktisi mengajar. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan lembar kuisioner berupa angket. Adapaun metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu analisis statistik deskripstif serta analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesiapan praktisi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan skill mahasiswa pada jurusan PKK FT UNM.Kata kunci:  Praktisi Mengajar, Skill, Pembelajaran, Pengaruh, Peningkatan

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the questioning strategies in teaching EFL classroom. This research employed qualitative research. The participants of this research were two English teachers of SMP NEGERI 40 MAKASSAR. The data of this research were collected by employing audio recording, observation notes, and interview. The result if this research revealed that the teacher used Question-Planning Strategy (ask question relevant to the students, used closed question, used follow-up question, used yes/no question, used display question) and Question-Controlling Strategy (Repeat the question, modified the question, call on students’ name to answer the question) as the strategy to ask the question in EFL classroom interaction. The teachers used the questioning strategy in order to check about students understanding, to attract student’s attention, to recall back students’ memory and as an intermezzo to make the students not feel bored. By seeing to the student’s response, the students give more positive responses (yelled at the same response, answer correctly, enthusiatic when answering and respond the question spontaneously) than negative response (did not give response/ keep silent and give the wrong answer) for the teachers’ questioning. Therefore, the use of questioning strategy in the classroom interaction are very important in order to affect the students’ learning process.

Abstract

Mastery of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology is one of the important skills for students in the digital era. This community service activity aims to improve the digital competence of students from the Department of Family Welfare Education (PKK), Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University through training in the use of AI-based websites, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini AI, and Grammarly. The training, which was attended by 56 students, lasted for two days, from 20 to 21 September 2024. Activities included an introduction to AI technology, a workshop on using websites, case simulations, and evaluation and reflection. The results of the training showed a significant increase in students' understanding and skills in utilizing AI technology to complete academic assignments, search for information, and manage projects. Participatory, problem-based, and collaborative training methods have proven effective in increasing participant engagement and understanding. This activity is expected to be the first step to integrating AI technology into the learning process and support students' readiness to face the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Word of Mouth (WOM) and Digital Marketing on marketing strategies in the mobile coffee business "Kopi Cuss". The study was conducted with a quantitative descriptive approach using a questionnaire distributed to 106 respondents, who were active consumers of Kopi Cuss in the last six months. The results of the linear regression test showed that WOM had a significant influence on marketing strategies, while digital marketing did not have a significant influence partially. However, the results of the simultaneous test showed that both had a significant influence together. These findings indicate the importance of synergy between informal communication from consumers and digital marketing strategies in building brand awareness and customer loyalty, especially among the younger generation.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student activeness and understanding in learning praktik plumbing through the application of interactive learning videos based on LUMI H5P. The method used is ADDIE model-based development which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The interactive video was developed to support independent learning by inserting evaluation questions in the video material. The results show that the use of interactive content based on H5P can increase student learning motivation, accelerate task completion, and facilitate the evaluation process with automatic feedback. The implementation of this technology is also able to overcome the limitations of static document-based learning. In conclusion, the use of LUMI H5P in learning praktik plumbing significantly improves student engagement and understanding, and promotes more flexible and effective learning. It is recommended that the use of H5P interactive content be integrated more widely in various practical courses to support the quality of digital learning.

Abstract

Isu pengelolaan limbah ampas kopi pada usaha kopi keliling menjadi perhatian penting seiring meningkatnya konsumsi kopi masyarakat urban. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan pelaku usaha kopi keliling dalam mengolah limbah ampas kopi menjadi sabun batang bernilai jual yang melibatkan pelaku usaha dan karyawan kopi keliling bernama “Kopi Cuss” yang beroperasi secara mobile di wilayah Kota Makassar. Metode yang digunakan adalah partisipatif-edukatif melalui pelatihan langsung, praktik dan diskusi pengembangan produk lanjutan. Kegiatan dimulai dari identifikasi masalah mitra, pemetaan potensi limbah, pelatihan pembuatan sabun, hingga evaluasi hasil pelatihan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perubahan pandangan mitra terhadap limbah sebagai peluang usaha. Sabun yang dihasilkan dinilai layak secara teknis dan memiliki potensi pasar sebagai suvenir usaha. Kegiatan ini memperkuat penerapan prinsip ekonomi sirkular dan green entrepreneurship di sektor mikro.

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of motivational teaching strategies on the writing abilities of EFL students. This study involved 15 students in the English Education study program of Universitas Muslim Maros, Indonesia. By employing a qualitative approach, the study utilised semi-structured interviews and classroom observations to gather data, which were then analysed using thematic analysis. The results showed that lecturers’ use of motivational teaching strategies had a major effect on students’ writing, including increased confidence and willingness to write, enhanced engagement and interest in writing, developed critical thinking and creativity, as well as improved writing proficiency. Direct observation in the classroom also demonstrated how lecturers’ strategies encouraged students to write critically and creatively, which enhanced their writing performances. The findings of this study concluded that motivational teaching strategies act as a key role in enhancing EFL students’ writing performance. It offers valuable insights for teaching practices in Indonesian higher education contexts.

Abstract

Kacang Disco adalah pangan lokal yang sangat menarik dikembangkan karena merupakan oleh-oleh khas dari kota Makassar namun jika pengolahannya kurang baik maka dapat menurunkan mutu produk itu sendiri. Permasalah yang sering terjadi dalam pengolahan kacang disco adalah produk tidak matang secara sempurna, butiran  tidak terurai, permukaan tidak utuh serta warna kacang disco tidak seragam. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan keterampilan bagi para ibu rumah tangga dalam mengolah kacang disco. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini melipiti ceramah, tanyak jawab atau dikusi, dan pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan yang diperoleh adalah (1) Pelatihan pembuatan kacang disco direspon sangat baik oleh peserta; (2) Perhatian dan motivasi peserta sangat besar sehingga materi yang di berikan mudah di pahami dan di terapkan (3) Produk pelatihan pembuatan kacang disco sangat gimari sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai usaha rumahan. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh peserta pelatihan dengan penuh antusias. Peserta memahami materi dan praktek yang dilakukan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan industri kecil dan industri rumah tangga sehingga dapat membantu perekonomian keluarga.
