Abstract

A circular economy is an approach to an economic system that focuses on the efficient use of resources, reducing waste, and returning materials to the production cycle. This concept aims to overcome limited natural resources, reduce environmental impacts, and create long-term sustainability in economic activities. In a circular economy, resources are considered valuable and kept within the economic circle for as long as possible. This approach differs from traditional linear economic models that focus on resource extraction, production, use, and disposal as waste. Green economic growth is seen as a solution to the exploitative economic system which has tended to damage the environment. The green economy and circular economy have the same goal, namely encouraging economic growth while meeting social and environmental goals. However, both have different focuses. The green economy focuses on encouraging economic growth while taking into account the availability of existing natural resources and ecological balance to ensure sustainability. Meanwhile, the circular economy focuses more on optimizing the use of resources, such as recovering and regenerating products and materials. This article employs a form of literature review that includes hypotheses pertaining to the issue under investigation. A methodical and iterative methodology was used to obtain a full grasp of the role of the circular economy: a strategy towards green economic growth—during the literature search for this extensive review. The definition and guiding principles of the circular economy, growth strategies for the green economy, and the interplay between the two are covered in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the elements that influence the financial performance of district/city governments in South Sumatra Province with the independent variables of Balancing Funds, Capital Expenditures, and Wealth Level. The data for this study were obtained from the regional government financial reports (LKPD) in the form of the 2019-2023 Budget Realization Report, which was accessed online through the official website https://e-ppid.bpk.go.id/. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the SPSS version 26 program, which uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques and a value-for-money-based performance measurement approach, which includes elements of economics, efficiency, and effectiveness of public budget use. The research findings show that Balancing Funds do not affect the economic ratio, but have a significant negative effect on efficiency and a significant positive effect on the effectiveness ratio. On the other hand, the Capital Expenditures variable does not show any effect on the economic and effectiveness ratios, but has a significant positive effect on efficiency. Wealth Level does not affect the three indicators. Overall, the three variables only have a significant effect on the efficiency ratio, while there is no apparent effect on the economic and effectiveness ratios. Abstract

Kegiatan ini Pengabdian Kepada Mayarakat di desa Tanjung Pinang II dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pencemaran lingkungan akibat limbah minyak jelantah yang dibuang sembarangan oleh masyarakat rumah tangga. Tujuan utama kegiatan adalah untuk memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat Desa Tanjung Pinang II agar dapat memanfaatkan limbah minyak jelantah menjadi produk lilin aromaterapi yang ramah lingkungan dan bernilai ekonomis. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan langsung, demonstrasi pembuatan lilin aromaterapi, serta evaluasi melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Kegiatan diikuti oleh dua puluh dua peserta dari kalangan ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang dibagi dalam satu kelompok pelatihan. Hasil utama menunjukkan seluruh peserta mampu mengikuti proses pembuatan lilin aromaterapi secara mandiri dan menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi terhadap produk yang dihasilkan. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan dan wawasan lingkungan, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang bagi masyarakat untuk menciptakan sumber penghasilan alternatif. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan langsung masyarakat dalam pengolahan limbah menjadi produk bernilai guna mampu meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan sekaligus memberdayakan secara ekonomi.
