Abstract

Bullying has become a disturbing problem in the school environment, with detrimental impacts on victims and the learning environment as a whole. To overcome this problem, an integrated and effective approach is needed, one of which is through character learning in schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study to understand the relationship between character learning and bullying prevention. Through identification of problem topics, literature searches, analysis, and selection of the latest literature, this research aims to explore the effectiveness of character learning in overcoming bullying, understanding appropriate core values, self-strengthening, and managing students' emotions, short and long term impacts of bullying, as well as the role of bystander intervention in encouraging student intervention in bullying situations. The research results show that character education plays an important role in reducing bullying incidents, by strengthening values such as empathy, justice, respect for differences, responsibility and courage. The short and long term impacts of bullying on students include stress, decreased emotional well-being, impaired concentration, mental health problems and low self-esteem. The short and long term implications of bullying include hindered personal development, increased health care costs, and lost productivity. Prevention and intervention strategies include education and awareness, anti- bullying policies, emotional and mental health support, and development of social skills and resilience. Bystander intervention is also important in encouraging students to intervene and fight bullying. This research provides a comprehensive picture of the importance of character learning in overcoming bullying in the school environment and presents practical implications and recommendations for the future.

Abstract

Developing adaptability and resilience skills in students is a crucial aspect in preparing them to face the complex dynamics of life. This research explores the contemporary educational perspective with a focus on the approaches of Howard Gardner and Daniel Goleman in shaping students' adaptability and resilience. The literature study method is employed to analyze Gardner's views on Multiple Intelligences and Goleman's Emotional Intelligence concept within the educational context. The analysis highlights the synergies between these two theories in supporting the formation of students' adaptability and resilience in educational environments. The findings of this research are expected to provide practical insights to enhance educational strategies that support holistic development of students' adaptation and resilience across various educational settings. The research results indicate that the integration of both offers a strong foundation for a more comprehensive education, enabling educators to develop strategies that support holistic student growth, not only in academic realms but also in emotional and social aspects. Emphasizing the educator's role as a facilitator and role model in building student resilience, along with the appropriate use of assessments to measure and strengthen resilience, education can create a supportive environment for students to face life's challenges with the confidence and resilience needed.

Abstract

Abstract Sawdust is a waste that is quite common in Batulappa Village, Patimpeng District, Bone Regency. Sawdust that is not managed properly can cause air and environmental pollution, because sawdust contains dangerous chemical compounds such as formaldehyde, phenols and aromatic hydrocarbons which can cause health problems if inhaled in the long term. This community service program is carried out by involving partners fully (society participation) in all stages of implementation which includes counseling, training, and mentoring. The program implementing partner is Working Group IV of Batulappa Village, Patimpeng District, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi with a focus on processing sawdust waste into environmentally friendly mulch with the aim of overcoming the problem of sawdust waste as well as increasing partners' knowledge and skills. The results of the implemented program show an increase in partners' knowledge and skills in processing sawdust waste into environmentally friendly mulch products that have high economic value. The positive impact of the implementation of this community service is that it can build an entrepreneurial spirit, and make environmentally friendly mulch a potential product as a superior village product with high commercial value, which is typical of Batulappa Village. Abstrak Serbuk gergaji merupakan limbah yang cukup banyak ditemukan di Desa Batulappa Kecamatan Patimpeng Kabupaten Bone. Serbuk gergaji yang tidak dikelola dengan baik dapat menimbulkan pencemaran udara dan lingkungan, karena serbuk gergaji mengandung senyawa kimia berbahaya seperti formaldehida, fenol, dan hidrokarbon aromatik yang dapat menyebabkan masalah kesehatan jika terhirup dalam jangka panjang. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan mitra secara penuh (society parcipatory) dalam semua tahapan pelaksanaan yang meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Adapun mitra pelaksana program yaitu Kelompok Kerja IV Desa Batulappa, Kecamatan Patimpeng, Kabupaten Bone, Sulawesi Selatan dengan fokus kegiatan pengolahan limbah serbuk gergaji menjadi mulsa ramah lingkungan dengan tujuan untuk menanggulangi permasalahan akan limbah serbuk gergaji sekaligus untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra. Hasil program yang dilaksanakan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam mengolah limbah serbuk gergaji menjadi produk mulsa ramah lingkungan yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Dampak positif dari pelaksanaan pengabdian ini, yakni dapat membangun jiwa enterpreneurship (wirausaha), serta menjadikan mulsa ramah lingkungan sebagai produk potensial sebagai produk unggul desa yang bernilai komersil tinggi berciri khas Desa Batulappa.

Abstract

One way used to introduce local cultural values ​​to the younger generation is through learning at school. Learning in schools needs to take a role that can optimize the inheritance of cultural values ​​to the young generation of Indonesia, so that the young generation knows and has a sense of belonging to their national culture and integrates it in their lives to form their unique identity as a dignified Indonesian nation. The shift in language culture which is increasingly decreasing in society is a serious problem that must be addressed. This shift is the widespread use of harsh language in community interaction activities. What is even more worrying is that people consider it a normal and normal thing to use. This is the basis for integrating various educational values ​​in PBI learning to create an academic society that is polite and intelligent in language. Examples in the language sub-discussion relate to society and culture. The discussion can be directed to PSB values ​​in the form of social and cultural values, meaning that the language process is part of the culture of a community. It is not limited to this, but explains that language can represent a person's culture and vice versa, community culture can be seen from the community's language patterns.

Abstract

The deep learning model is one of the learning models that can be applied in science learning. Research related to deep learning has grown very rapidly in recent years. Research on deep learning models has produced many theoretical and empirical findings. Many trends have emerged to highlight the complexity and dynamics of deep learning models in science learning.  This study aims to discover the latest trends in deep learning model research in science learning. This study uses a bibliometric approach of analysis based on the Google Scholar database. Based on this study's title, abstract, and keywords, it produced 872 studies from 2015-2024. The results of this study show that the deep learning model in this learning has increased significantly in 2022. The increase in research on deep learning models shows the importance of applying deep learning models in learning.

Abstract

communication. This study aimed to describe the use of politeness strategies and the influence factors found in the political talk show of Mata Najwa. The research method employed a descriptive qualitative one as proposed by Brown and Levinson’s four politeness strategies. Face is indicated as an inherently political element in the theory of Goffman. The data is a dialogue transcription taken from Mata Najwa YouTube.on 18 October 2023. The techniques of collecting data were documentation by watching, listening, transcribing, reviewing the transcription, and selecting the speakers’ utterances. The data analysis involved identifying, and classifying utterances based on politeness strategies, analyzing frequency, interpreting the data, and drawing conclusions. The analysis of 193 utterances showed that 114 of them had positive politeness strategy data (59%), 34 had bald-on politeness strategy data (17,6%), 24 had negative politeness strategy data (12,4%), and 21 had off-record politeness strategy data (17,6%). The positive politeness method is the most commonly employed tactic. It suggests that the inclination toward familiarity between speakers and listeners as well as the sentiment to reveal people's individuality by lowering FTA in each phrase is generated by particular factors. That becomes a point for speakers to build and maintain relationships.
