Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan irisan antara etnografi dan matematika. Dengan kata lain, etnomatematika ini mengkaji ilmu matematika yang diterapkan dalam suatu kelompok budaya. Indonesia merupakan negara yang kaya akan warisan budaya. Salah satu warisan budaya Indonesia yang diakui secara internasional oleh UNESCO adalah batik. Sudah semestinya kita sebagai bangsa Indonesia wajib menjaga dan melestarikan kebudayaan batik agar tidak hilang ditelan zaman atau bahkan diklaim sebagai budaya milik negara lain. Salah satu upaya untuk menjaga dan melestarikan budaya batik adalah dengan mengenal jenis-jenis batik yang ada di Indonesia. Salah satu jenis batik yang ada di Indonesia khususnya di Provinsi Banten yaitu Batik Lebak. Batik Lebak pertama kali diluncurkan pada tahun 2016 dan telah memiliki 12 motif yang telah dpatenkan. Motif-motifnya terdiri atas nama motif Kahuripan Baduy, motif Seren Taun, motif Sawarna, motif Angklung Buhun, motif Caruluk Saruntuy, motif Gula Sakojor, motif Lebak Bertauhid, motif Kalimaya, motif Rangkasbitung, motif Pare Sapocong, motif Leuit Sijimat, dan motif Sadulur. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan nila-nilai filosofis pada motif batik Lebak dan juga kaitannya dengan konsep matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh bahwa selain memiliki nilai-nilai filosofis, motif pada batik Lebak juga memiliki keterkaitan dengan konsep matematis yaitu konsep simetris, konsep kesebangunan dan kekongruenan serta konsep pada transformasi geometris yang terdiri dari konsep translasi, refleksi, rotasi dan juga dilatasi.

Abstract

Correlation can be said to be a fact of the relationship between two or more variables. This study aims to determine the correlation between attendance and learning outcomes of Mechanical Engineering Students at Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang in the new normal era. The research method used is a quantitative method with a correlation of two variables. Analysis of attendance variables with student learning outcomes using the product moment calculation method. The results showed that the correlation between attendance and student learning outcomes had a very small and not close effect, namely 0.38. This shows that 14.8% of learning outcomes are influenced by attendance and 85.2% are influenced by other factors

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills in terms of learning styles in class X MIPA 1 students at SMAN 9 Depok. The research method used in this research is analytical method. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Instruments for collecting data in this study were in the form of a learning style questionnaire and a test of critical thinking skills. All students of class X MIPA 1 were identified with the type of learning style by using learning styles and critical thinking skills tests taken by 6 students representing each type of learning style of 2 students. The test is carried out on the Absolute Value material. Furthermore, the analysis of all data is carried out with the following steps: data reduction stage, data presentation stage, and conclusions. The results showed that: 1) students with visual learning styles were able to overcome indicators at the stage of providing simple explanations and arranging tactics but were less able to meet indicators at the inference stage, 2) students with auditory learning styles were less able to reach the stage of providing simple explanations but were able to in arranging strategies-tactics and inference stages, 3) students with kinesthetic learning styles are able to fulfill all indicators at the stage of giving simple explanations, setting strategies-tactics, and inferences

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) examine the differences in the improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities between students who receive instruction using the Accelerated Learning method and those who receive instruction using conventional methods; (2) determine students' responses to mathematics instruction using the Accelerated Learning method. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. This study was conducted in one of the public high schools in Cimahi, involving tenth-grade students during the 2010/2011 academic year. The instruments used included instructional tools such as syllabi, lesson plans, and student worksheets; and data collection instruments such as mathematical reasoning ability tests, observation sheets, student daily journals, and questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that (1) there are differences in the improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities between students who received instruction using the Accelerated Learning method and those who received instruction using conventional methods. Furthermore, it can be stated that the improvement in mathematical reasoning abilities of students who received mathematics instruction through the Accelerated Learning method is higher than that of students who received mathematics instruction through conventional methods; (2) most students responded positively to mathematics instruction using the Accelerated Learning method.

Abstract

Batik is a combination of art and technology. Batik has various types and motifs that vary depending on the region. In Indramayu itself there are several types of batik, one of which is batik with the Sidomukti motif. Ethnomathematics is a science that studies the relationship between mathematics and culture. Through this knowledge, various mathematical aspects can be studied that can be found in Sidomukti batik motifs. The aim of this research is to find out the Sidomukti batik motif pattern when linked to the Pythagorean theorem and can be used as an example to convey material proving the Pythagorean Theorem in schools. The research used is qualitative descriptive research with the research object being batik cloth with sidomukti motifs. Mathematically, the sidomukti motif can be approximated by flat rectangular and triangular shapes. From the research, the results showed that there is a mathematical aspect, namely the proof of the Pythagorean Theorem in the Indramayu cultural element, namely the sidomukti batik motif.
