Abstract

Introduction: Adolescents often face risky sexual behaviours due to limited knowledge and guidance. Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is a potential strategy to address this issue. Objective: To evaluate the effect of CSE on reducing risky sexual behaviour among adolescents in Bekasi District, Indonesia. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used with 106 high school students divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received a four-session CSE program. Data were analysed using paired t-tests and Mann–Whitney U tests. Result and Discussion: The intervention group showed significantly higher post-intervention behaviour scores (M = 64.66) than the control group (M = 50.38), with p < 0.01. Conclusion: CSE effectively improves adolescent sexual behaviour. Integration of such programs is recommended in public health strategies targeting youth

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a critical period where energy balance affects nutritional status. An imbalance between energy intake and expenditure during this stage can lead to nutritional disorders, including underweight and overweight conditions. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between stress levels, picky eating behaviour, and physical activity with Body Mass Index (BMI) among adolescent girls.Methods: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design involving 106 randomly selected high school female students. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires to assess stress levels (DASS-42), picky eating behaviour (modified CEBQ), and physical activity (PAQ-A), along with direct anthropometric measurements to calculate BMI. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used.Results: Most respondents were aged 18–21 years (67.9%), with high stress levels (73.5%), picky eating behaviour (83%), and physical inactivity (65.1%). Bivariate analysis found significant associations between stress levels (p = 0.012) and picky eating (p = 0.003) with BMI, where both increased the risk of BMI imbalance. Physical activity showed no significant relationship (p = 0.118). Multivariate analysis confirmed significant associations between stress (OR = 3.13, p = 0.012) and picky eating (OR = 5.42, p = 0.003) with BMI, with physical activity serving as a protective factor (OR = 0.29, p = 0.018).Conclusion: This study concludes that stress levels, picky eating behaviour, and physical activity significantly influence the Body Mass Index (BMI) of adolescent girls. High stress levels and picky eating increase the risk of BMI imbalance, while adequate physical activity serves as a protective factor.

Abstract

Mild morbidity due to pain in the musculoskeletal system often occurs in the elderly and is often treated independently using non-pharmacological therapy. Community service aims to provide education and demonstrate pain management using natural analgesics in the form of coconut clove oil (NYAIH PADI) and acupressure therapy. The activity was held in November 2023 in Nyalindung Village, RW 14, Ganjar Sabar Village, Nagreg District, Bandung Regency with 39 participants attending. The activity was carried out in three stages, namely the stage of making NYAIH PADI, then giving the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire followed by education and demonstrations regarding acupressure therapy and the process of making NYAIH PADI. Next, the product was distributed to participants who experienced joint pain to be used for one week at a dose of 1 – 2 drops per day on the painful part of the skin and then the changes in pain were seen. The location of the left foot and right foot where many people complain is very painful. The pre and post-test results showed changes in the category of very sick, decreasing by 1.32, and sick, decreasing by 0.25. Meanwhile, low-level sickness and not-sickness increased to 0.53 and 0.54. Giving NYAIH PADI has been proven to reduce pain so it can be used as an initial alternative for the community. At the end of the session, cadres and the community were given a YouTube link to the production process via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__kgIp6E2q4. The activity ended with giving door prizes and group photos.

Abstract

Masa remaja (adolescence) merupakan peralihan dari masa kanak-kanak menuju dewasa. Masalah yang sering ditemui pada remaja, salah satunya yaitu konsep gizi seimbang yang belum tersampaikan dengan baik pada remaja. Pengetahuan remaja tentang gizi seimbang adalah salah satu penyebab tidak langsung dari kurangnya gizi pada remaja, sehingga dengan adanya pemberian edukasi gizi dengan menggunakan video, diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan dan mencegah remaja dari kekurangan gizi, serta memperbaiki perilaku remaja untuk mau mengonsumsi makanan sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pre experimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Pengambilan data pada penelitian menggunakan data primer dengan memakai kuesioner tentang gizi seimbang yang telah dilakukan uji validitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMK Pasundan Jatinangor pada 23 siswi yang sesuai kriteria penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan menggunakan purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian mayoritas berusia 16 tahun (60,87%), dan pekerjaan orang tua buruh (43,48%). Uji wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa remaja putri lebih memahami gizi seimbang setelah intervensi media video; nilai rata-rata pretest 49,57 dan posttest 76,09 dengan alpha 5% dan nilai p-value sebesar 0,000, sehingga ada pengaruh edukasi gizi seimbang menggunakan media video terhadap pengetahuan remaja putri di SMK Pasundan Jatinangor. Simpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa edukasi dengan media video dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja putri tentang gizi seimbang di SMK Pasundan Jatinangor.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Lidah Buaya (Aloevera sp) dengan manfaat dan nilai ekonimis yang tinggi menjadikan tanaman ini sebagai komoditi unggulan khususnya di Indonesia. Tidak hanya sebagai tanaman hias saja numun juga saat ini lidah buaya kerap dimanfaatkan sebagai obat, makanan, minuman hingga bahan baku pembuatan kosmetik. Kurangnya edukasi, informasi serta pemahaman terkait manfaat tanaman ini berimbas terhadap kurangnya ataupun turunnya antusiasme masayrakat khususnya dalam mengelola dan memanfaatkan potensi yang ada.  Tujuan: Program cooking class pembuatan PMT balita berbahan dasar aloe vera dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengolah Makanan Tambahan pada kader agar mereka tahu, mau, serta mampu melakukan dan mengolahnya. Metode Penelitian: Pengabdian Masyarakat ini menggunakan metode promotive dan preventif yang akan dibagi menjadi tiga tahapan, tahapan pertama mengumpulkan Ibu balita dan kader posyandu, tahap kedua pelaksanaan cooking class olahan makanan dan minuman aloe vera untuk PMT balita, dan tahap ketiga pembagian makanan hasil olahan pada saat pemberian vitamin A. Hasil: Dari kegiatan masayarakat ini memberikan produk yakni meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terkait tatacara, tekinik ataupun metode dalam memproduksi dan membuat minuman dari lidah buaya sebagai upaya dalam meningkatkan nutrisi balita. Kesimpulan: dalam upaya perubahan pengetahuan serta penguatan pemehaman ini diharapkan masyarakat lebih antusias dalam mengelola dan memanfaatkan potensi dari lidah buaya
