Abstract

Pengabdian Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Universitas Borneo Tarakan difokuskan pada dua aspek penting yaitu, pengenalan language testing (TEOFL) kepada calon mahasiswa mahasiswa Universitas Borneo Tarakan yang saat ini berada di kelas 3 SMA, dan melaksanakan Perjanjian Kerjasama (PKS) kepada Sekolah Mitra SMA Negeri 8 Kabupaten Malinau. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam pengabdian kepada Masyarakat adalah Metode SPEQAR (Speech Question Answer dan Reflective). Hasil pengabdian yang dilaksanakan adalah proses pengenalan language testing (TEOFL) masih membutuhkan waktu yang cukup dalam pendampingan siswa kelas 3 karena mereka masih belum mengenal sepenuhnya jenis tes yang sudah berstandar internasional. Selain itu, pendampingan pada guru mata pelajaran perlu dilakukan sebagai wujud dari realisasi kerjasama. Pelaksanaan Perjanjian Kerjasama (PKS) antar Program Studi dan SMA Negeri 8 Malinau difokuskan pada tiga aspek penting, yaitu melaksanakan Pendampingan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Join Paper/ Join Publication antara Dosen (pihak pertama) dan guru (pihak kedua) sebagai bentuk peningkatan kapasistas sumber daya manusia kedua belah pihak, dan mendukung kegiatan penelitian, pengajaran, dan pengabdian masyarakat di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 8 Malinau sebagai Sekolah Mitra.

Abstract

This study investigates the active involvement of elementary school teachers in laying the foundation for character education. Character education is essential for shaping the newer generation's moral, ethical, and responsible personalities. Primary school, as the first level of education, plays a crucial role in molding the character of children. Teachers serve as role models for their students by inspiriting, guiding, and assisting them to realize their highest character potential. The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth understanding of the active role of teachers in shaping students' character in elementary schools, including the ways in which teachers engage in character education, the strategies they employ, and the challenges they encounter. The study also intends to assess the efficacy of character education implemented by instructors in shaping the character of students. The results demonstrate that instructors play a crucial role in shaping the character of their students. The implementation of character education in elementary schools requires a concerted and persistent effort to create a learning environment that supports and inspires the development of good character.

Abstract

Teachers and parents must pay close attention to the golden age phase of early infancy since children's growth and development can occur swiftly during this time. In the early childhood learning process, it is crucial to transfer knowledge so that children can acquire information, including the introduction of objects into the child's environment. There are already a plethora of diverse, entertaining learning materials for young children. One of them is interactive learning media that emphasizes visual features to catch children's attention during the learning process. Based on the relevance of learning media in early childhood, the purpose of this research is to build interactive learning game media in order to promote comprehension and stimulate early children's ability to recognize the introduction of things. 93.3% of students like object recognition learning media and the Figures on the learning media, 80% of students can comprehend object recognition material and can answer according to choice, and 86.67 % of students stated that the terms of color, animation, audio, video, and text were feasible. So that this object identification learning material has an appealing visual design, is simple to use, and can be comprehended by pupils.
