Abstract

Abstract

It is extremely hoped that the Qur'an can be the main solution in answering all issues throughout the ages. To fulfill these expectations requires the formulation of new thoughts regarding the methods used in interpreting the Koran, which are currently believed to be the best solution for every new issue or problem. This new method is now known as the maudhu'i tafsir method or thematic tafsir. This research aims to see to what extent the verses of the Al-Qur'an using the Maudhu'i interpretation approach talk about healthy eating patterns and the nutritional content of food that humans need in accordance with the perspective of health science. Humans need various types of nutrition to maintain their health and immune system. The source of nutritional intake is generally obtained through food. The method used in this research is qualitative research using a Maudhu'i interpretation approach strengthened by other literature studies such as books, journals, encyclopedias, documents, and so on. The results of the research show that there are several verses in the Al-Qur'an which, when viewed from a health science approach, are connected to healthy eating patterns and fulfilling human nutritional needs ranging from carbohydrates, protein, minerals, and other.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease are associated with high blood sugar and poor lipid profiles. Almonds and peanuts have the potential to reduce these risks. This study aims to evaluate the effects of these two nuts on blood sugar levels and lipid profiles, within the Islamic perspective of halal and thayyib foods. An experimental study was conducted with 4 groups: standard feed (K1), high-fat feed (K2), almond feed (K3), and peanut feed (K4) over 4 weeks. Blood sugar measurements were taken using the GOD-PAP method, and histopathological analysis of adipose tissue was performed using Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining. The results showed that both almonds and peanuts significantly (P<0.05) increased blood sugar levels. When compared to the high-fat feed group, the nut groups were more effective in inhibiting this increase. However, changes in blood sugar levels and lipid profiles were not statistically significant (P>0.05). From the study results, it can be concluded that there are differences in blood sugar and lipid profiles after the consumption of almonds and peanuts, although not significant. The consumption of halal and thayyib foods is recommended in Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the standardization of Islamic healthcare services by exploring the implications and challenges faced in various countries. The research approach used is qualitative, with data collection methods through literature studies, policy document analysis, and in-depth interviews with experts and practitioners of Islamic healthcare services to obtain comprehensive data. Thematic analysis methods are applied to identify key themes such as the integration of Islamic principles, the standardization process, and obstacles that arise in its implementation. The research findings show that several countries have adopted Islamic healthcare standards such as halal certification for medical products and sharia-compliant medical procedures even though there is no universal standard that is accepted globally. Key challenges include regulatory inconsistencies, limited human resources, infrastructure gaps, and cultural variations in the application of Islamic values in the healthcare environment. Opportunities for international collaboration are a promising path to developing more inclusive and globally recognized standards. Strengthening the role of certification bodies and religious authorities is also key in supporting the adoption of Islamic healthcare standards. This study emphasizes the need for a more comprehensive approach to ensure that Islamic healthcare services are aligned with global quality standards, while respecting religious and cultural values.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the opportunities and barriers in integrating sharia principles into Islamic hospital management. Such integration is not only important in clinical aspects, but also at managerial levels such as finance, human resources, strategic decision-making, and governance. This study analyzed 40 scientific articles published between 2013 and 2024 using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, collected through the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases. Data analysis was carried out with the help of NVivo software to identify key themes that emerged consistently in the literature. The results showed that integration opportunities arise from the increasing awareness of the Muslim community, the need for service differentiation, and the compatibility of sharia values with modern management principles. Significant barriers remain, such as the lack of human resources who understand sharia management, the absence of international standard standards, and dualism of regulations between medical and sharia. This study also presents case studies and provides practical recommendations for hospital managers, academics, and policy makers in strengthening the implementation of sharia-based management systematically and sustainably.

Abstract

Abstract

The growing global demand for halal-certified healthcare products has brought renewed attention to the regulatory frameworks governing halal certification in the pharmaceutical and health sectors. This study aims to analyze and compare halal certification regulations across various countries, identifying best practices, structural challenges, and opportunities for harmonization. The research synthesizes data from industry reports, regulatory documents, and academic studies, complemented by case studies that illustrate the successes and failures of implementation in key halal markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and selected Western nations used a qualitative-comparative methodology. Findings reveal that while some countries have established robust institutional mechanisms and comprehensive halal assurance systems, others face systemic limitations, including inconsistent standards, high certification costs, and shortages of halal-compliant raw materials. The study highlights the fragmented nature of global halal certification and the resulting barriers to international trade and consumer trust. A thematic analysis further identifies recurring issues such as regulatory ambiguity, inadequate auditor capacity, and consumer sentiment surrounding certification speed and transparency. The research underscores the urgency of promoting regulatory convergence and cross-border cooperation to support the growth of a trusted and inclusive halal healthcare ecosystem.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of halalan tayyiban as a holistic Islamic framework for healthy living, emphasizing its implications for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Grounded in a descriptive qualitative methodology, the research draws upon religious texts (Qur'an, Hadith), fatwas, and public health policy documents to analyze how halal principles shape lifestyle practices among Muslims. The findings indicate that adherence to halal principles, such as the consumption of clean, safe, and permissible food and medicine, not only reduces the risk of non-communicable diseases but also fosters psychological peace and spiritual fulfillment. Comparative insights reveal that, unlike secular health paradigms or lifestyle diets (e.g., veganism), the halal framework integrates health with ethical and spiritual responsibilities. The study also addresses key challenges in implementing halal standards, including public awareness gaps, the complexity of halal supply chains, and ambiguities in multinational product labeling. The halal lifestyle offers a viable model for improving public health in Muslim-majority and minority settings by aligning with WHO's preventive health strategies. The research underscores the need for stronger collaboration between religious authorities, health institutions, and the global halal industry to ensure sustainable implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the consumption behavior of halal products among the Muslim millennial generation in Indonesia using a mixed-method approach. Quantitative data were obtained through an online survey of 60 respondents spread across five major cities, while qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews with a number of selected respondents. Quantitative analysis revealed that awareness of halal, positive attitudes towards halal products, religiosity, and social influence play a significant role in shaping the intention to purchase halal products. Qualitative analysis enriches the findings by showing that halal consumption is not only a product choice, but also part of an individual's religious identity and moral responsibility. Interviews also identified practical obstacles such as limited access to verified halal products, unclear labels, and higher prices. The synergy of these two approaches confirms that halal consumption behavior is influenced by psychosocial factors and real challenges in the field. The results of the study provide strategic recommendations for business actors and policy makers to improve education and transparency of halal certification, as well as utilize social media as an effective communication channel to encourage wider halal consumption behavior among Muslim millennials.
