Abstract

In the digital era, faith-based educational institutions face significant challenges in adapting to technological advancements to enhance governance and educational quality. Although digital transformation has become increasingly vital in the educational landscape, the digital divide remains a major concern, particularly among madrasahs and pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools) in Indonesia. This study explores the role of digital technology in improving the efficiency of governance and operations within faith-based educational institutions. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, and the analysis of official documents and academic literature. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital systems such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), cloud-based platforms, and financial information systems has significantly enhanced transparency, accountability, and academic monitoring. Nevertheless, several obstacles persist, including limited digital infrastructure in rural areas and low digital literacy among educators. This study highlights the importance of strategic interventions, including regulatory support, capacity-building programs, and infrastructure development, to ensure equitable access and sustainable implementation of digital technologies. The integration of digital technology not only streamlines administrative functions but also enriches interactive learning experiences and strengthens relationships between educators and learners.Effective digital transformation can serve as a catalyst for building more collaborative, transparent, and accountable faith-based education systems, while contributing to broader educational reform in Indonesia and similar contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the Khidmah System as a model for human resource development and character education at the Salaf Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, Sumbersari, Kediri. The focus of the research includes the implementation of solemnity, its contribution to the competence and character of students, and the challenges of its application in the modern era. The method used is qualitative with the type of case study research through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. The results of the study show that khummah runs as an experiential learning mechanism that fosters discipline, responsibility, solidarity, basic leadership, and social skills of students. However, there are challenges in the form of the absence of written SOPs, inequality in the workload, and disruption of the use of gadgets. The research concludes that the Khidmah System has the potential to be a model of character education that can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools, provided that it is strengthened through formal regulations, intensive coaching, and adaptation to technological developments.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the educational programs at private MTs (Islamic junior high schools) in Kediri Regency using the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The evaluation was conducted to assess the extent to which the implemented programs align with the expected standards and their impact on the quality of learning in the two madrasahs. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that most madrasahs have visions and missions aligned with the goals of national education; however, the main challenges lie in the limited resources, both in terms of teacher competencies and learning facilities. The curriculum applied tends to emphasize theoretical aspects while giving less attention to the development of practical skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. The teaching and learning process in most madrasahs is still dominated by lecture and memorization methods, with minimal use of technology and limited active interaction between teachers and students. Program evaluation has not been carried out systematically, with only a few madrasahs implementing data-based evaluations. The final results indicate that although students are able to achieve satisfactory academic scores, they still lack practical skills relevant to future needs. This study recommends enhancing teacher training, strengthening data-based evaluation, adjusting the curriculum to balance theory and practice, and utilizing technology in the learning process to improve the quality of education in madrasahs.
