Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of digital banks in the lives of university students, particularly in supporting financial management, facilitating transactions, and improving financial inclusion among young adults. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using survey methods to collect primary data from undergraduate students who actively use digital banking services. Data were obtained through structured questionnaires distributed online, while secondary data were gathered from academic journals, official reports, and relevant literature concerning digital banking and student financial behavior. The data collection process involved identifying respondents, distributing questionnaires, validating responses, and conducting statistical analysis to identify patterns of digital bank usage and its impact on students’ daily financial activities. The findings indicate that digital banks provide significant benefits, including easier access to financial services, lower transaction costs, efficient budgeting features, and increased convenience in conducting cashless transactions. The novelty of this study lies in its specific focus on university students as a generation that is highly exposed to digital technology and increasingly dependent on digital financial services. Unlike previous studies that primarily examined digital banking from a general consumer perspective, this research highlights the relationship between digital banking adoption and students’ financial literacy, spending habits, and financial independence. The implications for education are substantial, as the findings emphasize the need to integrate digital financial literacy into higher education curricula to help students make informed financial decisions. Furthermore, this study can serve as a valuable reference for future research exploring digital financial innovation, student financial behavior, and technology-based financial education in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

The development of digital payment systems in Indonesia has encouraged the increasing use of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) as a non-cash transaction tool. This study aims to analyze the role of QRIS in improving financial inclusion in banking and non-banking institutions in Indonesia. The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of various journals and scientific articles related to QRIS, fintech, and financial inclusion. The results show that QRIS plays an important role in facilitating access to financial services, improving the efficiency of digital transactions, and supporting the development of MSMEs and the digital economy in Indonesia. In addition, collaboration between banking and non-banking institutions through QRIS is able to create a more inclusive and efficient payment system. However, the implementation of QRIS still faces challenges such as low public digital literacy, limited technological infrastructure, and digital transaction security. Therefore, increasing public education and strengthening digital infrastructure are necessary to support the optimization of QRIS usage in improving financial inclusion in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the way people access financial services. Mobile banking has emerged as an innovative solution that enables users to conduct financial transactions conveniently, quickly, and efficiently without visiting physical bank branches. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mobile banking in enhancing financial inclusion and identify the factors that support or hinder its adoption. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review of scientific journals, international reports, and official documents published between 2021 and 2025. The findings indicate that mobile banking significantly contributes to expanding access to financial services, particularly among rural communities, low-income groups, and micro-enterprise owners. Ease of access, cost efficiency, and the availability of services around the clock are the main drivers of increased financial inclusion. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of mobile banking is constrained by several challenges, including limited digital financial literacy, technological infrastructure disparities, cybersecurity risks, and unequal internet access. Therefore, collaboration among governments, financial institutions, technology providers, and society is essential to improve digital literacy, expand technological infrastructure, and strengthen digital transaction security. With appropriate policy support, mobile banking has substantial potential to become a strategic instrument for achieving a more inclusive and sustainable financial system.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become one of the primary strategies adopted by the banking industry to address technological advancements and changing customer behavior. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital transformation in the banking industry, examine its impact on customer service, and identify the benefits and challenges arising from the digitalization process. This research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach by collecting data from scientific journals, articles, books, official reports, and other credible sources. The findings indicate that digital transformation in banking is implemented through various innovations, including mobile banking, internet banking, artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and digital customer onboarding. These technologies have generated positive impacts such as 24-hour service accessibility, improved transaction speed and efficiency, enhanced customer satisfaction, and reduced operational costs. However, digital transformation also presents several challenges, including cybercrime threats, personal data breach risks, high technology investment costs, human resource adaptation, and regulatory compliance. Therefore, optimization strategies are required through strengthening information security systems, improving digital literacy, developing customer-oriented service innovations, and fostering collaboration with financial technology companies to support successful digital transformation in the banking sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of conventional banking, Islamic banking, and non-bank financial institutions in supporting Indonesia's economic development, particularly in the context of distributive justice and digital transformation. This research employs a literature review approach by examining regulations, academic journals, and industry reports. The findings reveal that Islamic banks are oriented towards justice and falah principles, conventional banks are profit-oriented through interest-based systems, while non-bank financial institutions expand financial access through insurance, cooperatives, capital markets, and fintech. The synergy of these three institutions, supported by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), is crucial in realizing an inclusive, fair, and sustainable financial system.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven the transformation of the financial services sector through the emergence of digital banks that offer fast, convenient, flexible, and integrated services. This study aims to analyze the development of digital banking within the financial system and its impact on people's financial behavior. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method. Secondary data were obtained from scientific journal articles, books, laws and regulations, official reports from financial and banking institutions, statistical data, and relevant previous studies. The data were analyzed through data reduction, classification, presentation, descriptive analysis, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the development of digital banking has shifted people's transaction patterns from cash to cashless transactions and increased convenience in payments, fund transfers, saving, and financial management. Features such as automatic savings, financial goals, and transaction records can encourage saving habits and increase awareness of financial planning. However, convenient transactions, promotions, discounts, and cashback programs may also increase impulsive buying and consumptive behavior. Furthermore, digital banks play an important role in expanding financial inclusion and literacy, although challenges remain, including data security risks, digital fraud, cybercrime, and gaps in digital literacy. Therefore, the use of digital banking needs to be supported by self-control, improved digital financial literacy, stronger consumer protection, and continuous financial education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the performance of conventional and Islamic banks in Indonesia and identify the factors influencing their similarities and differences. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-comparative research design. Secondary data were collected through documentation and library research, including annual reports, financial statements, national banking statistics, official institutional reports, books, scientific journals, articles, and previous studies. The analysis was conducted by comparing indicators of profitability, operational efficiency, liquidity, credit or financing quality, and capital adequacy. The results show that conventional banks have advantages in terms of business scale, service networks, customer base, product variety, and risk management experience. Meanwhile, Islamic banks have advantages in applying the principles of fairness, risk sharing, diverse contracts, and compliance with Sharia principles. Differences in the performance of the two types of banks are influenced by operational principles and business models, business scale, market share, public trust, financial literacy and inclusion, technology utilization, human resource quality, regulations, and macroeconomic conditions. Although conventional banks continue to dominate the national banking industry, Islamic banks have significant growth opportunities through institutional strengthening, product innovation, improved financial literacy, and digital transformation. Both banking systems have positive prospects and complementary roles in supporting national economic stability and growth.
