Abstract

The codification of Islamic law (taqnīn) is crucial in providing legal certainty in marriage and divorce in Indonesia while maintaining the relevance of sharī’ah values amidst social changes. This study aims to examine the implementation of Law No. 1 of 1974 on Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in the context of madhhab pluralism. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with normative and empirical analysis approaches. The findings reveal that the codification of Islamic law faces challenges in accommodating diverse fiqh perspectives, ensuring gender justice, and addressing the administrative needs of society. The maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah approach is an essential foundation for an inclusive transformation of Islamic law, particularly in aligning classical fiqh values with modern legal norms. This study recommends harmonizing Islamic law principles with the national legal system to create just, relevant, and beneficial regulations for Indonesian society

Abstract

With video-based learning being a major factor in improving English language proficiency, technology has emerged as a crucial tool in language instruction in the digital age. By combining visual, aural, and contextual components, videos offer a multimodal learning experience that improves speaking, listening, and comprehension skills. Despite these benefits, there are still issues with optimizing video-based learning outcomes and guaranteeing active learner engagement. The effectiveness of different video types—including instructional, conversational, interactive, and authentic content—in English language learning is investigated in this study by methodically reviewing the body of existing literature. We compiled the results of 21 studies published between 2021 and 2025 using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) framework. The studies were sourced from Google Books, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Mendeley, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar. The review identifies best practices for instructional design and interactivity while examining the effects of video-assisted learning on student motivation, engagement, and skill development.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of various leadership styles on Islamic boarding school management through a meta-analysis and systematic review approach. In this research, data was collected from various studies related to transformational, transactional, charismatic, participative and autocratic leadership styles applied in Islamic boarding schools. The results of the analysis show that the transformational leadership style has proven to be the most effective in increasing students' motivation and self-development, while the transactional style focuses more on discipline and operational efficiency. The charismatic style is able to motivate students, but needs to be balanced with the development of other aspects of leadership to avoid excessive dependence. The participatory style increases students' sense of responsibility and loyalty, although it requires more time and effort to implement. An autocratic leadership style is more effective in contexts that require strict structure and discipline, but can reduce creativity and initiative. This research concludes that an adaptive combination of various leadership styles is needed to create an environment that is conducive to the development of students and improve the performance of Islamic boarding schools as a whole.

Abstract

The era of disruption, marked by massive digital transformation, economic uncertainty, and global crises, has posed significant challenges to the management of education financing, demanding more adaptive and sustainable strategies. This research aims to identify and analyze adaptive education financing management strategies in the face of the era of disruption through a systematic literature review and meta-analysis approach. The data collection process was carried out through literature searches from three main databases, namely, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Mendeley, with a total of 221,131 articles, which went through a gradual filtering process until 5 articles remained selected for in-depth analysis. The meta-analysis results reveal that adaptive financial management capacity has the strongest correlation with the resilience of educational institutions (effect size 0.89, p<0.001), followed by diversification of funding sources (0.66, p<0.01), socio-economic considerations (0.62, p<0.01), and technology integration (0.60, p<0.01). This research identifies four main categories of education financing management strategies: public funding transformation, public-private approach, digital transformation with changes in cost structures, and consideration of socio-economic impacts. The analysis also reveals significant regional variations, with Eastern European approaches emphasizing ranking-based selective financing, Western Europeans focusing on socio-economic impacts, and Latin Americans focusing on the relationship between financial aid and labor market outcomes. The results of this research provide an integrated conceptual framework for a responsive, flexible, and sustainable education financing model in an era of disruption, as well as an empirical basis for education stakeholders in optimizing resource allocation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze betrothal (peminangan) and prenuptial agreements (perjanjian perkawinan) with reference to the Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah verse 235. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data sources consist of books, dissertations, and articles, while data collection was carried out through online searches. The data were analyzed using a literature review technique. The findings indicate that betrothal represents an effort toward forming a marital bond between a man and a woman. In essence, betrothal, or proposal (melamar), etymologically means asking a woman to become a wife, either for oneself or on behalf of another. Betrothal is strongly encouraged in order for the prospective bride and groom to know each other, thus providing more benefits than disadvantages. The study also shows that all aspects of human life, including betrothal, are clearly regulated in the Qur’an and Hadith, as explicitly mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 235. Furthermore, a prenuptial agreement is a form of contract and, therefore, must fulfill the general requirements of validity as stipulated in Article 1320 of the Indonesian Civil Code, except where otherwise specifically regulated. Contribution: This study contributes to Islamic family law scholarship by offering a comprehensive interpretation of betrothal and prenuptial agreements from both Islamic sources (Qur’an and Hadith) and Indonesian civil law. It highlights the harmony and interaction between religious principles and national legal provisions, thereby providing a deeper understanding for academics, practitioners, and policymakers in strengthening legal certainty and religious compliance in marital practices
