Abstract

The objectives of the research are to identify and prioritize issues that affect the performance of the tire production process, give a number of solutions, and map the value stream of the future (future state mapping). One of the tools used to accurately map the current conditions of the production process in lean manufacturing concept is value stream map/VSM. Another measuring instrument used to increase productivity is the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), which includes time availability, engine performance and quality. From the three variables, it can be seen that the downtime variable has the largest contribution resulting in low value of the OEE. Based on the OEE data, product time change reached 18,8%, and waiting period contributed as much as 4,9% of the total downtime. To reduce the product change time, SMED method (Single Minutes Exchange Dies) is applied at the change of bladder in curing machine, and visual control and poka-yoke applications are also applied to reduce the waiting time. All improvement activities conducted are reflected in the map of the future, including the increase in outputs from the curing machine from 7,814 tires to 8,205 tires per day.Keywords: lean manufacturing, OEE, tire, SMED, map of value chart

Abstract

The aims of the research are to evaluate the academic performance progress of the six study programs of IPB after the certification of AUN-QA. The research was a case study in six study programs that had been certified by AUN-QA until December 2014. This research was conducted with the objectives of defining the relevant indicators of BSC IPB and AUN-QA criteria, analyzing the criteria values of AUN-QA after the AUN-QA certification, analyzing the academic performance based on KPI BSC after the AUN-QA certification, and analyzing the problems in improving academic performance as the basis for the formulation of strategies for improving academic quality. The method used in this research was the balanced scorecard approach (BSC). The results showed that the certification of AUN-QA contains 15 relevant criteria and supports the achievement of BSC IPB. Key performance indicators (KPI) BSC IPB supported by the AUN-QA criteria consist of 21 of the 33 indicators of BSC IPB, and 14 of them are relegated to the BSC department indicators. The AUN-QA criteria values on the study program have increased with the highest criterion value in student quality and the lowest one in support staff quality. The weak criteria required to be improved include support staff quality, student assessment, stakeholder feedback, and program specification.Keywords: AUN-QA certification, academic performance, balanced scorecard

Abstract

Tea industry is a promising industry, especially with its global awareness about organic tea. The purpose of this study is to identify the best alternative strategies for PT Harendong Green Farm to survive and sustainable. Technique of data collecting was conducted by interviewing the experts and distributing the questioners to five respondents, consisting of CEO, Plantation Head and Production Head of PT Harendong Green Farm, Head of Promotion Board of Indonesia, and Tea Master. The data analysis was carried out using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine strategy in detail and priority development activity for the company. AHP results show that the procurement of premium tea products, competitive pricing, attractive packaging and cultural orientation through education and understanding to the community become an alternative offered. The recommended strategy is to establish a premium tea product from a competing company with a distinctive fragrance and flavor.Keywords: competitiveness, organic certificates, organic tea, premium tea, AHPAbstrak: Industri teh merupakan salah satu industri yang menjanjikan, terutama dengan kesadaran masyarakat global tentang teh organik. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasikan alternatif strategi yang terbaik bagi perusahaan agar dapat bertahan serta berkelanjutaan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara pakar dan pengisian kuesioner oleh lima responden yaitu CEO, Kepala Perkebunan dan Kepala Produksi PT Harendong Green Farm, Kepala Promosi Dewan Teh Indonesia dan Tea Master. Analisis data menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) untuk menentukan strategi secara detail dan prioritas utama pengembangan kegiatan perusahaan. Hasil AHP menunjukkan bahwa pengadaan produk teh premium, harga yang kompetitif, kemasan yang menarik dan orientasi budaya melalui edukasi dan pemahaman kepada masyarakat menjadi alternatif yang ditawarkan. Strategi yang disarankan adalah dengan mengadakan produk teh premium yang berbeda dari perusahaan pesaing dengan menonjolkan aroma dan rasa yang khas.Kata kunci: daya saing, sertifikat organik, teh organik, teh premium, AHP

Abstract

Honey is a non-timber forest product commodity that has the potential to be developed by PT Madu Pramuka. The honey business requires high competitiveness so that the company can be sustainable. The study’s purpose was to examine the current conditions and factors that affecting competitiveness in PT Madu Pramuka in order to formulate a competitiveness strategy. This study used Porter’s Diamond and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The Porter’s Diamond analysis results showed PT Madu Pramuka competitors were Madu Mutiara Ibu, Madu Nusantara, Madurasa and Madu TJ. The PT Madu Pramuka disadvantage was the final products’ water content has the same level as the harvested honey. The AHP results showed that the competitiveness of PT Madu Pramuka's honey products was determined by quality, cost and delivery factors. In order to improve the quality, the best alternative strategy was to reduce water level content using a dehumidifier. The government, as the most important actor, played a role in facilitating infrastructure in product quality tests. The recommended managerial implication was to improve the quality of PT Madu Pramuka products. Keywords: AHP, competitiveness, diamond porter, honey industry, PT Madu Pramuka Abstrak: Madu merupakan komoditas hasil hutan bukan kayu yang memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan dan PT Madu Pramuka adalah salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bisnis madu. Bisnis madu memerlukan daya saing yang tinggi agar perusahaan dapat berkesinambungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kondisi terkini dan faktor yang mempengaruhi daya saing pada PT Madu Pramuka serta merumuskan strategi peningkatan daya saing dan implikasi manajerialnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisa deskriptif menggunakan berlian Porter dan Analytical Hierachy Process (AHP). Hasil analisis berlian porter, saat ini PT Madu Pramuka bersaing dengan Madu Mutiara Ibu, Madu Nusantara, Madurasa dan Madu TJ. Kekurangan dari PT Madu Pramuka adalah produk yang dijual dipasaran memiliki kadar air yang masih sama dengan kadar air ketika dipanen. Hasil AHP menunjukkan bahwa faktor penentu daya saing produk madu PT Madu Pramuka adalah quality, diikuti oleh faktor cost dan delivery. Alternatif strategi yang terbaik untuk diterapkan adalah meningkatkan kualitas produk dengan cara mengurangi kadar air antara lain menggunakan dehumidifier. Pemerintah sebagai aktor terpenting memiliki peran untuk memfasilitasi infrastruktur dalam pengujian mutu produk. Implikasi manajerial yang direkomendasikan adalah untuk fokus pada peningkatan kualitas produk PT Madu Pramuka. Kata kunci: AHP, berlian porter, daya saing, industri madu, PT Madu Pramuka

Abstract

This research was conducted to identify enabling factors for an effective transformation of Higher Education Institution’s (HEI’s) research management system in Indonesia towards World Class University (WCU) status. Three clusters of HEIs, particularly PTN-bh WCU, PTN-bh and PTN Non-bh produced exceptional studies output and outcome (citation) wherein PTN-bh WCU produced the best quantity of publications and citations. The data analysis technique in this study used a comparative analysis of research mapping and Biplot analysis. The result of the Biplot analysis indicate that research infrastructure as essential enabler for all HEIs. Biplot also displays the important enabler that affected research productivity in PTN Non-bh (research human resources, academic collaboration), PTN-bh (research funding, insentive, PTN-bh WCU (academic culture, system and management research).
