Abstract

This preliminary study delves into the effectiveness of mobile application monitoring in enhancing social leadership character among cadets during onboard training. The research focuses on the social dimension of character development, which encompasses the ability to act with proper decorum in all professional, social, and online environments. The study explores how mobile technology can facilitate experiential learning, teamwork, and leadership skills, improving cadets' social interactions and leadership abilities. The mixed-methods approach employed in this study combines quantitative data from mobile application usage with qualitative insights from cadet feedback and mentorship programs. This comprehensive methodology allows for a deeper understanding of the impact of mobile applications on cadets' social leadership development. The findings indicate that mobile applications can significantly enhance cadets' engagement in social leadership activities, improve their teamwork and problem-solving skills, and provide real-time feedback for character development. Moreover, the study highlights the potential of mobile technology to support comprehensive character development in cadet training programs. By leveraging mobile applications, training programs can create a more immersive and interactive learning environment that fosters the development of essential social leadership skills. The results of this study have significant implications for educational institutions and military academies seeking to enhance their cadet training programs and prepare future leaders with robust social leadership capabilities. Overall, this preliminary study underscores the importance of integrating mobile technology into cadet training to promote social leadership character development, thereby equipping future leaders with the skills to navigate complex social environments effectively.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Kepedulian Lingkungan dan Pencegahan Polusi akan terasa membosankan jika hanya menggunakan metode ceramah yang umum digunakan pada pelajaran lainnya. Discovery Learning adalah suatu model pembelajaran dimana aktivitas atau kegiatan belajar menitikberatkan pada peserta didik dan kemampuan belajar dari peserta didik untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan mendorong siswa mencari jawaban sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar pada pembelajaran Kepedulian Lingkungan dan Pencegahan Polusi serta untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Lesson Study. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas. Peneliti memilih Cluster Random Sampling sebagai teknik sampling yang digunakan, Pengambilan sampel klaster (Cluster Random Sampling). Proses penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dilakukan melalui dua siklus yang meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan refleksi. Efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning terbukti meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Kegiatan Coaching Clinic Metodologi Penelitian Bagi Dosen di Perguruan Tinggi dilaksanakan dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan dosen dalam metodologi penelitian serta penggunaan software statistik, khususnya Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Pemilihan topik ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan mendesak untuk meningkatkan kualitas penelitian di perguruan tinggi, mengingat keterbatasan pemahaman dosen dalam menerapkan metode analisis yang kompleks. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini mencakup pemaparan materi oleh narasumber yang berpengalaman, diikuti dengan sesi praktik langsung menggunakan software SEM, serta diskusi interaktif antar peserta. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 80% peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dan kepercayaan diri dalam merancang serta menganalisis penelitian. Selain itu, kegiatan ini berhasil membangun jejaring kolaborasi di antara dosen dari berbagai institusi. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini menekankan pentingnya pelatihan berkelanjutan untuk mendukung pengembangan penelitian yang berkualitas di kalangan dosen, serta kontribusi positif terhadap kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan pelayanan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of safety standards in the debarkation and embarkation process of the R-72 seatoll vessel at anchorage in Sofyanin Village. The research employed a qualitative case study design, utilizing field observations, interviews, questionnaires, and literature review. The findings indicate that passenger safety is influenced by three main dimensions: structural–policy, operational, and cultural. Structurally, the absence of a permanent pier and lack of regulatory oversight are the dominant factors increasing risks. Operationally, the captain’s ability to determine anchorage points and the limited availability of safety equipment serve as critical challenges. Culturally, low public awareness of safety procedures further exacerbates vulnerabilities. Evaluation against international standards (SOLAS, STCW, ISM Code, LSA Code) and national regulations (Law No. 17/2008, MoT Regulation No. 11/2023) reveals significant gaps between requirements and actual practices. The risk matrix analysis shows that most hazards, such as passengers falling overboard, capsizing of small transfer boats, and injuries from gangways, fall under the High–Extreme category. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening regulatory oversight, providing safety facilities in compliance with standards, and promoting safety culture awareness among local communities to minimize maritime accident risks.

Abstract

Managerial competence is the ability to manage resources through planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising activities to achieve organizational goals effectively and efficiently, especially in terms of the art of leading, controlling, commanding, coordinating, transacting, and serving which a manager must have in achieving goals organization. Therefore, this can only be obtained in leadership and teamwork courses. However, the current approach to teaching these skills often yields suboptimal results in terms of attitudes and learning outcomes. In response, we conducted a study aimed at elevating the quality of leadership and teamwork instruction through the implementation of a problem-based learning approach. This method prompts students to solve practical challenges simulating real-world workplace situations. This study used a qualitative approach with the Lesson Study method and Cluster Random Sampling with a study population of 24 participants consisting of 19 male and 5 female participants. The results showed that our research revealed 91.67% of participants achieved a score of at least 80, surpassing the targeted objective of 85%. Moreover, student engagement exceeded expectations, with an average activity rate of 86.67% against a target of 80%. In conclusion, the utilization of problem-based learning models can improve students' critical thinking skills in leadership and teamwork lessons.
